  • Another journal for the entry of many journals to come.
I remember in the 1970s and 1980s my family and I and all passengers buying those old classic NYC Tokens from the golden and bronze colored designed Token Booths in this station and placing them in the silver medal slot of those yellow painted and silver colored Turnstiles to ride those old R21 and R22 Cars. The Token Booth on the Uptown side was where the MetroCard Vending Machine is today in the same location.
Today the exterior of the Subway station doesn’t look that much different from yesterday, except for the outside was once painted MTA’s common standard color Blue and the Four globes used to have the NYC Transit’s capital “M” (for Metro) enclosed in the round black thin circle outside of the hard plastic globe’s covering the illuminating incandescent lamps which obviously showed that you were entering Subway Station. Now the globes are green and white without a “Metro” signage.
In the early 1900s, the historic Century old Christopher Street Subway Station was a part of New York City Transit’s Dual Contract of the two companies of IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) and the BRT (Brooklyn Rapid Transit).
When walking by here with my camera, I could not help but to finally take video on this Downtown side of the Entrance and Exit points of Subway Station.
Enjoy the Walk-Through… and Don’t Forget to “LIKE” (((👍))) and to Subscribe!
    Thanks for Watching!
