Thanks for these videos as they are very informative. If deploying as Divisions, what plans are in place to support the local economies surrounding many US military installations along with all the civilian support jobs that would seemingly be impacted for 9-12 months at a time while nearly an entire installation would seemingly be deployed on rotations or large scale combat missions?
Appears to me that we are reorganizing tried and true concepts and capabilities into different combinations enabled by a few new ones. MDO updates operational doctrine to exploit these new combinations-which is exactly what armies have always done with new technology. This is not a criticism. I think we are doing the right things for the right reasons.
We just added EW, Cyber and Space layered it all together with the other domains and exploit weaknesses with "new" TTPs using all domains to our advantage simultaneously. A lot of new terms, re arranging, etc. but yes. The biggest real difference is we are finally focusing on near peer threats again instead of counter insurgency which is a huge ask considering less than 10% of the entire force was even in when we trained for that environment. The problem still though is over reliance on technology. A few key atmospheric nuke dets and the ensuing EMP puts us back in WW1 or earlier against a near peer that now has 5x the manpower. NTC has shown that if you take away the tech our maneuver units get killed or lost fairly easily. If our peer threats were smart, they could build their vehicles/equipment to protect themselves from an EMP attack knowing thats what they will do if engaged in a conflict with the US.
@@nextjin Yeah, if they launch nukes, guess what we'll probably do? Also, do you think a tank works when an EMP goes off? Does an F16 work but an F35 doesn't? What is the point of EMP hysteria except to have a seemingly valid critique that will only convince the uninitiated? Do you want the military to function entirely with rifles and bicycles or something?
