Before I listened to Yeat, I was nothing. A loser you could say. One day my homie said, "hey have you heard Yeat". I said no, so he turned on Off tha lot . I heard the pure emotions coming from his words. I cried deep emotional tears and realized at that very moment I could make something of myself. I turned my life around and became a very cool person and broke out of my shell. He saved me. Yeat saved me. Thank you . He is our savior. He saved me from living life as a loser. Being a Yeat fan isn't just a hobby, it's a lifestyle, a reason to breathe, an escape from this cruel world filled with thieves. It's art, the first gift you open on Christmas, a hug from a loved one, everything you've ever wanted, everything you need.
He's doing this vocal style better than others at the moment, and I don't think this style is going anywhere. He kinda perfected the Travis Scott style. He pretty much nails it on Out the Way... obviously it's basic lyrically but the vocals are incredible. Even Drake had a totally mixed reaction when he first came out, yet he became a massive success. I don't think this is the final evolution of this style of music by any means, if I had to guess, some time in the next few years an artist will emerge that will take over this style in a more lyrical and complex way but in the meantime Yeat seems to be carrying this wave better than anyone at the moment, and this is a pretty typical reaction to a new wave of music.... Lots of people think it's trash, a minority worship it, and then it takes over... Literally the same cycle that's been going on since Rock n Roll and before
Completely agree with all of this. Just my own two cents: As a music producer and rapper myself who's been closely immersed in the scene I found Yeat's sound really polarizing, to begin with, but understood that his sound is sort of taking the 'voice as an instrument concept' that was pioneered (only naming the most popular ones) by T-Pain, Ye, Travis Scott, and more recently and paralleled to Yeat's style, Playboi Carti, especially in Whole Lotta Red. Personally, I see two emerging categories out of the current Hip Hop sphere. There's this kind of succession to the trap sound of recent years that takes its most iconic tropes (e.g. distorted 808 bass, autotuned vocals, cloud-rap beats, chopped/screwed mixes, etc) and then pushes that to its limits. Then there is this sort of broad section which almost stands to oppose all of this but is overall equally as popular. Subverting the bullish sound of 2010s mainstream hip hop with more hollowed-out sounds that are reviving recently overlooked sounds like boom bap, pop, R&B or outsourcing to UK electronic music (Dancehall, 2 Step, Jungle, Grime, UK Drill, etc). Of course, there are always outliers who fit neither here nor there which is why music is as cool as it is but this is overall the two major branches that I would say things are looking like they're going; at least according to my Spotify algorithm. (PS: I Don't listen to Yeat)
I agree with the out the way part completely I swear I said the exact same thing to myself and I can see him carving out a travis type lane for himself as well as far as having a really specific sound
The past couple years I've been really exploring hip hop, listening to all the best, classic albums/mixtapes and it really put into perspective how dull and unoriginal a lot of mainstream rappers are today. I didn't find pretty much any of the artists that blew up in 2020 onwards interesting at all. They all sounded like watered down versions of Future, Thugger, Travis, Uzi, Carti or Juice WRLD to me. I was getting more and more difficult to impress, so it's safe to say that when I first heard Yeat it was such a breath of fresh air. Even though his production was similar to Carti's, his vocals sounded like a mix of Future and Thugger and his lyrics were the usual, generic trap topics I still couldn't stop listening to it. I saw a review on Up 2 Me saying that his music has some sort of mind control ability attached to it and I think that pretty much sums it up. With his manic, layered production that sounds like it's alive and an array of interesting flows, I really think Yeat is the most cutting edge and innovative trap artist out right now alongside Baby Keem. Imo, these guys are the true stars pushing the genre forward amidst a lot of passable artists who aren't necessarily bad, but are just too safe to make me care about them.
I think the best type of music is the type where you listen through a song and it really challenges you to think whether its really good or trash. Once you get over that obstacle the music changes for you and you become attached to it. over the past year Yeat's music has done this to me and I'm a big fan of what he makes. Shame his fanbase is weird tho
maan, great observation Exactly this happened to me when I listening to dirty sprite 2 around 6-7 years ago At some point it just clicked and I kinda "got" it Fell in love with barter 6 afterwards and been a huge fan since
i haven't seen your videos in my recommended page in years. i loved watching ur videos abt tyler, earl, frank, thugger, etc. from a couple years back. i'm glad this video popped up on my recommended page. gonna binge watch all ur new videos 🫶🏽
Yeat sounds chill. Someone who minds their own business and does the best they can. I don’t have to justify anything, because he makes bangers anyway!!!
He's one of the only artists where I can listen to every single track without wanting to skip. I generally consider myself someone who is open to all types of music and I listen to artists like yeat, Kendrick, Isaiah Rashad, Drake, Weeknd, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q etc in one sitting. As of now, its difficulty listening to other artists bc I'm expecting the same energy and feeling that I get from Yeat on every track.
I feel like Yeat has an almost edm like quality to him that attracts people to him. It's vague to say "edm" but I can't think of another popular genre that can be played as ambient music where the focus isn't usually on individual songs, but more the feeling an album carries. I wouldn't compare his style even though heavily influenced by cartis to whole lotta red. WLR has very distinctive songs and style which moved away from earlier albums like die lit and cartis earlier work which blends into each other in a very similar way. IDK what Yeats long term looks like considering he just cranks out tons of music, but I can see what makes him appealing now being his decline when it becomes "You've heard one Yeat song and you've heard them all"
My 13yo nephew told me his fav song was Nun Id Change, so I checked it out and OMG I instantly fell in love with his vibe. Albums on repeat while gaming.
Love how Yeat is clearly having fun with words that he thinks sound cool together. Like the famous "pull up lil bih like yurr, i bought a yurus today, and paint it all yellow it look like a bird". Love how the words sound like a gurgling drain or something and how so many of his flows interact with the beat in a more chaotic way that sounds better because of it.
What’s your opinion on Yeat’s recent EP “Lyfë”? I loved it, the variety of sound between each song shows he’s not just a one trick pony making the same song over and over again.
I was deceased and very poor before my death so i didnt have anything for my family to inherit until my friend played yeat at my funeral. After that i rose from the ground to listen to the peak music and became very rich, i now have 12 billion dollars and a fortune to leave for my family and friends.
At first I didn’t like yeat. I think it’s because he was still new to being somewhat mainstream but I think what may have happened is he started being able to develop his style and sound more due to the feedback he started to receive. Now I atleast give his new albums a listen and pick out which songs I like to continue listening to. Yeat is definitely a good artist and stands out.
I think his ability to sway super off beat but almost become more locked into the beat as a result is his most underrated quality. Almost like the beats he chooses want the rapper to disobey them
it’s actually insane, the way he bends his vocals into the instrumental is so different and his work ethic is like juice wrlds with so many songs he’s paving a crazy wave.
Its crazy cus I've been waiting for a beat sound like his for a long time. It's time to shine soon...I can bet Yeat never bought views from *AUTHENTIC views*
He said “don’t do drugs” in one of the few interviews he’s done when asked if he had a message to the kids. I know he does drugs, but the fact that he basically said “don’t be like me” is pretty cool of him.
I remember when I listened to get busy, shit was crazy. Only march 2021 and he had 2 mill to 3 mill monthly listeners, man just flew after that, CRAZY 💫
I think eventually yeat will sit down and really write something. I’m not saying he’s gonna bar us to death or anything. But with Afterlyfe you can see the shift. There’s more artistically driven cuts on that project and you can see he’s developing a vision.
i had just heard my entire family had passed away, i was devastated, until my friend handed me one of his air pods and I heard the voice of angel now i have a new family and im twiz 4 lyfe
Ok but anyone saying "this artist is inventing new melodies" needs to just stop commenting. In what way is it a new melody? Are they not using twelve tone equal temperment? Is micro tonal music? I have no opinion on yeat one way or another but every possible combination of 12 tone notes had already been made like, hundreds of years ago. Ridiculous hill to die on, but that statement gives me hemroids
@@coaltrain2299 bro I have never even listened to him, I'm sure he's great and bringing so many people joy. But "inventing new melodies" isn't an opinion. It's a statement about music theory that can't be backed up by any facts. Please, point me to these new melodies that nobody has ever used before, in any genre of music, for the past several hundreds of years of western music using the same 12 notes. I will happily be proven wrong if true.
@@leftovernoise You’re right in literal sense but when these people talk new melodies they mean the autotuned singing flows Yeat’s creating that sound very different from what we’ve been familiar with since the come up of autotuned rap vocals.
2 years later and his album lyfestyle was #1 for 3 weeks, crazy how things changed for him in 2 years. although he might be losing monthly listeners rapidly, he has an insane work ethic. since he dropped the album "alive" (april 2021/3 years ago) he has dropped 9 ALBUMS!!! 9 ALBUMS. one of which includes "4L" (june 2021). he made 2 albums in 3 months. they were both masterpieces and nothing below expectations. if anything, they outperformed what was previously thought. yeat, youre my inspiration and i will forever geek up and ride in tha luh tonka real twizz.

Honestly after the SoundCloud era hiphop was starting to become dull and everyone was just copy pasting (Scorey is a major example). But all this changed when i found Yeat
You can never hate on someone making a lane for themselves and being successful at it but I can’t wait until words like genius and masterpiece Actually have meaning and weight behind them again
Yeat is what Future, Young Thug, Uzi, and Carti were when they all first came out. People will hate on him because he's trying new things, doing it different, innovating. He's creating his own sound, and people just aren't ready for it. It's sad to see that this cycle of close minded this in the hip hop community just never seems to end. But the people who do support REALLY support him. His fans are the ones who are truly dedicated, who understand his craft. And at the end of the day, that's what will matter. Just like others before him, people will look back on Yeat and realize how strong and unique his sound truly was. The respect will come slow, but it will come. And us fans are the people who can say they saw that beauty from the very beginning.

I just wanna say that Summrs, Kankan and Autumn are all breaking into the mainstream because their songs are hella popular on TikTok so you saying that they aren’t breaking out of the underground is wrong
Actually this is highly debatable. For one Autumn could be up there with Yeat by now but he keeps making songs that is similar to everyone else’s so he’s struggling when it comes to views. If he continue to make songs like One Way he’ll definitely rise to the top. And for the other rappers not everyone knows them like that and their music is kind of uninteresting.
I’ve traveled around the world trying to find enlightenment after my whole family were lost in Astro world 😔 I almost gave up on everything, till one day whilst walking to my last/final destination.
Literally the same cycle that's been going on since Rock n Roll and before
Technology has made the voice an instrument. Yeat is playing his instrument.
I hope i can be this for music. Been trying to incorporate good lyrics into the new wave sound.
sounds nothing like travis scott lmao. Its young thug you are thinking of.
I was completely torn apart by a raptor 300 million years ago until i started listening to yeat and he brought me back to life. thank you yeat
Bro has a major in hip hop and a minor in yapology
I like how objective and specific you are about what makes him good rather than just fanboying.
I think the best type of music is the type where you listen through a song and it really challenges you to think whether its really good or trash. Once you get over that obstacle the music changes for you and you become attached to it. over the past year Yeat's music has done this to me and I'm a big fan of what he makes. Shame his fanbase is weird tho
maan, great observation
Exactly this happened to me when I listening to dirty sprite 2 around 6-7 years ago
At some point it just clicked and I kinda "got" it
Fell in love with barter 6 afterwards and been a huge fan since
its trash
Thats what Uzi did for me back in '18, and its happening again now with Yeat
DS2 was so fucking good man, I loved that shit
yeat sounds like one of those parody songs from years ago that was made to make fun of "the future of soundcloud rap"
but now it's a reality
i’m so glad he blew up and i was there to see it happen all the way thru, proud of bro fr
Man I love yeat found him before he blew up on Tiktok and he deserves the fame
i haven't seen your videos in my recommended page in years. i loved watching ur videos abt tyler, earl, frank, thugger, etc. from a couple years back. i'm glad this video popped up on my recommended page. gonna binge watch all ur new videos 🫶🏽
thanks man!
Phillip been hittin the gym. Good stuff bro!
Yeat sounds chill. Someone who minds their own business and does the best they can. I don’t have to justify anything, because he makes bangers anyway!!!
Y'all tripping on that cash, boy, I'm pickle Rick
IDK what Yeats long term looks like considering he just cranks out tons of music, but I can see what makes him appealing now being his decline when it becomes "You've heard one Yeat song and you've heard them all"
Nobody can deny these instrumentals are absolutely legendary
Like listening to Yeat in the gym. He's not afraid to use "unconventional" beats, and the way he uses his voice as an instrument is really unique.
yeat changing the game yall just need to admit it
😭

What sets him apart?
Bruh y'all forgetting the carti influence
@@nihiqallam5616 what carti influence please explain because I’ll just argue against it
We need a part 2 of this. Especially hes evolution into 2093
I feel like a factor to his stardom is the fact that carti hasnt posted any music inna long time
My 13yo nephew told me his fav song was Nun Id Change, so I checked it out and OMG I instantly fell in love with his vibe. Albums on repeat while gaming.
Yeah afterlyfe was hated at first but it quickly grew on people
Would love to hear a YEAT and Night Lovell collab
bro that's the craziest collab ever wtf lmao
Love how Yeat is clearly having fun with words that he thinks sound cool together. Like the famous "pull up lil bih like yurr, i bought a yurus today, and paint it all yellow it look like a bird". Love how the words sound like a gurgling drain or something and how so many of his flows interact with the beat in a more chaotic way that sounds better because of it.
What’s your opinion on Yeat’s recent EP “Lyfë”? I loved it, the variety of sound between each song shows he’s not just a one trick pony making the same song over and over again.
Dude I just just found out about LYFE from yeat is out 8:11 15 sep
I was deceased and very poor before my death so i didnt have anything for my family to inherit until my friend played yeat at my funeral. After that i rose from the ground to listen to the peak music and became very rich, i now have 12 billion dollars and a fortune to leave for my family and friends.
I like yeat a lot he just gets me hyped. I’m not an annoying fan tho I just listen to him
Its crazy cus I've been waiting for a beat sound like his for a long time. It's time to shine soon
Straight up Banger..He aint like all them artist who just be usin dat *authentic views* to get fame.
Honestly it's because he makes quality music on quality beats backed with a quality mix. He's Solid
Lol
I think his ability to sway super off beat but almost become more locked into the beat as a result is his most underrated quality. Almost like the beats he chooses want the rapper to disobey them
great video... i wish you talked about the way he uses his adlibs and vocals like an instrument as much as you talked about his beat selection tho
it’s actually insane, the way he bends his vocals into the instrumental is so different and his work ethic is like juice wrlds with so many songs he’s paving a crazy wave.
I hate when people say that it’s so cringe. His voice is not an instrument 😂
@@jhndxtr9249 talkm bout cringe when yo name is John Dexter bro sthu 💀

I listen to his albums start to finish all the time😂
The only way
I always listen to Yeat's albums from begin to end in one go. No problem.
He said “don’t do drugs” in one of the few interviews he’s done when asked if he had a message to the kids. I know he does drugs, but the fact that he basically said “don’t be like me” is pretty cool of him.
I was so happy to see he was on my Spotify wrapped
I remember when I listened to get busy, shit was crazy. Only march 2021 and he had 2 mill to 3 mill monthly listeners, man just flew after that, CRAZY 💫
I think eventually yeat will sit down and really write something. I’m not saying he’s gonna bar us to death or anything. But with Afterlyfe you can see the shift. There’s more artistically driven cuts on that project and you can see he’s developing a vision.
yeat is truly the next level of music and i am 100% sure that he is using *authentic views* to go viral for sure
Yeat is basically music that you can vibe to in any scenario. It depends which song you listen to tbh, but his slowed & reverb music is peak 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Yeat is the second coming of young thug from his adlibs to his delivery hes taken over his own wavelength.
I still enjoy the SoundCloud trap era heavily but I also genuinely enjoy just about anything
The meatriding is crazy

i had just heard my entire family had passed away, i was devastated, until my friend handed me one of his air pods and I heard the voice of angel now i have a new family and im twiz 4 lyfe
Ridiculous hill to die on, but that statement gives me hemroids
bro's pissed over an opinion, yeat's different he finna stay on top if he stay consistant
I practically only listen to yeat nowadays, I can't explain why, but no other music does it for me anymore. YEAT THE GOAT 🐐

Smokin on that Volksgeist pack shit hittin different 💨💯🙏
Honestly after the SoundCloud era hiphop was starting to become dull and everyone was just copy pasting (Scorey is a major example). But all this changed when i found Yeat
Here is how say it: Yeat treats the lyrics more like an instrument then actual lyrics.
You can never hate on someone making a lane for themselves and being successful at it but I can’t wait until words like genius and masterpiece Actually have meaning and weight behind them again
You can be a drug-addicted genius producing music that’s great for being intoxicated or high energy concerts
Yeat is the best rapper of the new gen 😎

I just wanna say that Summrs, Kankan and Autumn are all breaking into the mainstream because their songs are hella popular on TikTok so you saying that they aren’t breaking out of the underground is wrong
Actually this is highly debatable. For one Autumn could be up there with Yeat by now but he keeps making songs that is similar to everyone else’s so he’s struggling when it comes to views. If he continue to make songs like One Way he’ll definitely rise to the top. And for the other rappers not everyone knows them like that and their music is kind of uninteresting.
His rise is not unexpected
Ever since he was dropping music with Summrs and Izaya tiji in 2019-2020 he had something special
