Born and raised in Miami and still live in FL and the truth is Miami is like no other city, it has such a rich culture, including its food, music, scenery, fashion and art but it has it’s negative aspects as well not shown in this documentary. Parts of Miami have a real high level of drug, gang, crime and murder rate issues. The Miami Vice tv show isn’t too far fetched from the 1980s Miami but today while the Cocaine hey days are mainly in the past, it still struggles with its issues. Just saying I never go to Miami at night without my steel. I have lots of love for the 305 just wish all parts of Miami could be shown in this.
Miami. Either you're rich or you're poor if you live there. That's what my friend from Sunrise, FL told me. I wanted to move there at 19. He convinced me to consider the west coast. Today, I've been living in St. Pete for 13 years and I'm damn glad with my decision. It's a paradise here. If you're young and you want to move to FL, Tampa Bay is amazing. They glamorize Miami in this video, but visit the real city a few times. I stayed in a motel in Opa Locka once. Give that experience a try, seriously.
Best video every!!! Miami is becoming cultured finally! Miami is the best city for Vice to speak of! Wish they spoke more about the importance and so much more Miami has to say and do!

You guys need to make a video about the ghettos of Miami that's the real face of this beautiful cursed place I live here and let me tell you you only scratched the surface
There would have to be some serious sink holage and a few big storms which is definitely possible. I'm not saying it absolutely won't happen and the more we build here the bigger that possibility becomes but I live on the coast and I feel like if it really was going to just be in 20 years then businesses wouldn't be investing in property nor would normal people for housing. Renovations are always being done to these massive villas on the beach and modern houses are also being incorporated. But hey what do I know. People don't really do shit until something bad happens. And can't always believe what you hear ✌
:( looking at Miami from google earth the average elevation is 9-12 feet. it wouldn't take much of a storm surge to flood most of the residential zones and you guys are in areas prone to hurricanes.
Being born and raised in Miami, I was really happy watching this video cause ya know, represent. I was also bored cause I already know all this stuff lol

Most the "sinkholes" in miami are not the ones that occur in northern florida due to limestone. Miamis is usually just shitty built pipes and road that burst underneath lol
Says someone who knows nothing about Miami. Ain’t no sinkholes in S.Fla south of WPB. The iguanas are a recent imported phenomenon, 1 major cold blast from extinction (like the ‘77 cold front). Meth was never that big in Miami. The place was driven by coke.

Applied to the DP and Cam Op positions posted that were needed at the Miami Vice office awhile back. Enjoyed this video but after watching 18 minutes of jarring shaky shots and poor gimbal operating it definitely looks like you could use my help.
Voodoo (or Vodou in Haiti) did not start in the Caribbean. It started in West Africa around Ghana, Sierra Leone, Benin. And it didn't start as some form of guise to be able to practice an actual religion, trying to avoid the pressures of Christianity. It was mixed with Christianity to maintain Vodou traditions, but it wasn't created for that. Come on y'all.
I came to Miami from Brooklyn when I was 7 years old 1974 we lived in the motels on Collins avenue my mom worked at the conover hotel and the Fontainebleau she actually slept and fell at the fountain blue and sue them and then bought our first house in Hialeah.
Back then Jerry Lewis used to do is telethon at the fountain blue and I used to hang out with the Stars behind the curtain that's when I met Lenny and squiggy and put cigarettes up Lenny's nose on squiggy's request.
The 'journalist' (presenter) says "it's impossible today to imagine what it would be like to have to flee your country, leave your parents, leave your life, in order to survive and start anew in another place entirely..." This newsman obviously never watches world news... or maybe he'd just smoked a doobie with Ahol earlier...
"Miami's future looks bright". Right bro! Maybe if you're growing gills and can breath underwater! The whole bottom part of the state is going to shrink, the ocean is going to reclaim 305.
Only people that never been to south florida say that. Look at pictures of the beaches and buildings from the 70s the waterline is at the same place as it is today.
Love the 305 with all its defects but with all its flavor. GTA VI Coming up, gonna be Miami in the 80s, well actually South Florida, and nearby islands. I am going to be loving it.
I laugh at the people that talk shit bout Miami but save money for a whole year just to vacation to Miami. People that aren't from here are salty af.....not saying it's something out this world but Miami is fucking amazing.
Miami is overrated lol....Nothing special here anymore. Wynwood is a dump with a bunch of hipsters lol. Housing is expensive, renting is expensive, everything is expensive. There is nothing here.
It's cheaper to live here than in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, Paris, London... I could keep going.. If you want to live in a big city with tons of culture, good weather, beaches, options... Miami ain't so fucking bad.

Why not?
@@erics2305 I have to concur I'm only here because I got family here and kids otherwise I would look at either Texas or Utah.
@@charlesscott27 I see well Eric it's a long story Miami is fun to party but if you think it's going to be easy street living down here it's not it's a different kind of Hustle and the driving here is absolutely horrible you have to bring your A game down here along with Healthcare you have to hustle to get it which you can get it by the way you have to ask every question possible who's paying my bill
8th Street? Aventura? Bal Harbor? Lincoln Road Mall?
Steve's is the best pizza place in Miami.
Is Biscayne Blvd related anyways to the Bay of Biscay, in Spain?
Bl SI probably. I’m pretty sure Florida was a Spanish territory at one time, but I could be wrong
@@maddisonsullivan5806 It was Spanish territory for a while, so I'm guessing so. I think there are Biscayne trees, if I'm not mistaken.
Oh.. we can't dislike VICE Canada videos anymore? Cool. Guess we'll just have to report them until you correct the issue.
Good shit Vice! Next time you pass through Miami hit me up...
I only clicked the video because I thought the guy was the Boston bomber
Word they got the whole information wrong
HXGJ2 Seriously I can't believe they didn't fact check their shit more
I came to Miami from Brooklyn when I was 7 years old 1974 we lived in the motels on Collins avenue my mom worked at the conover hotel and the Fontainebleau she actually slept and fell at the fountain blue and sue them and then bought our first house in Hialeah.
I honestly thought that was a joke. Like he was going to say, just kidding it's happening now at the southern border... Haha nope, just a dummy
I lived in Biscayne Blvd n Miami since I was born in northeast 28St
I freakin' love Miami, well...sunny isles, holywood, etc
zeliz so u love north Miami, shit u might as well be in Broward
What's the track in the very beginning of the episode?
"Miami's future looks bright". Right bro! Maybe if you're growing gills and can breath underwater! The whole bottom part of the state is going to shrink, the ocean is going to reclaim 305.
+tommykwikstep LMAOO will see.
Only people that never been to south florida say that. Look at pictures of the beaches and buildings from the 70s the waterline is at the same place as it is today.
That's a cool zoom in from outer space in the beginning.
Miami Vice :)
I love vice..I love the information....I love life...
Not a mention of the porn industry. I'm disappointed.
Love the 305 with all its defects but with all its flavor. GTA VI Coming up, gonna be Miami in the 80s, well actually South Florida, and nearby islands. I am going to be loving it.
C'mon Vice. . . being all sweetly nostalgic about Cuban culture. How many Afro-cubanos were part of the pedro pan program?
Hahahahahah @8:17 when he's describing the colada, watch the black guy in the back look at him like "wtf are you talking about"
Once he used the word "dark" the black man came out of no where. No white man is going to refer to anything as dark!!
Once he used the word "dark" the black man came out of no where. No white man is going to refer to anything as dark!!
I live in miami its wonderful! Magic city also as in 'lets make some money' great place to start! :)
This brings a lot of nostalgia when I was single living in 1990's and stories about women and me I can't describe it....
In 50 years, it'll all be underwater due to ice cap melt, so enjoy it while it lasts
No Doubt
you guys really need to do an episode on Toronto, making the most noise this year
weres rick ross?
Finally a video about Miami that didn’t ignore gentrification!!!!!
my parents were born in Haiti but I'm not from Miami
QUEENS,NYC BABY
by the way most haitians dont do voodoo we are mostly protestants
@@zman9315 people who practice that are usually in the country
SHUT*
@@sitdowndogbreath and by the country that means COUNTRY, like the country parts of Haiti
@@mixtapemania6769 get off your cell phone while driving please it's becoming a joke
I saw that King Costume guy in the credits on my way to Wolfson the other day. I still have no clue what he does.
I laugh at the people that talk shit bout Miami but save money for a whole year just to vacation to Miami. People that aren't from here are salty af.....not saying it's something out this world but Miami is fucking amazing.
Agreed...
Miami is a cool city but I couldn't live there.
+socialchronic you don't want to live here, trust me.
+Streta
What's so bad about it?
+socialchronic why?
Those songs tho! What song is at 8:22?
Miami is overrated lol....Nothing special here anymore. Wynwood is a dump with a bunch of hipsters lol. Housing is expensive, renting is expensive, everything is expensive. There is nothing here.
Miami is not overrated, trust me. Come down here to Brooklyn and you tell me how gentrification is
+coney island lurker Prices aren't going up here because of gentrification.
It's cheaper to live here than in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, Paris, London... I could keep going.. If you want to live in a big city with tons of culture, good weather, beaches, options... Miami ain't so fucking bad.
+Steven C (Daylife) Sounds like every big city.
+Steven C (Daylife) Miami is a zoo. South Florida is overrated, save your money and go to Cuba instead.
Great video! I love MIA!
gta vice city :D
whats the name of the music track right at the start ?
None of your business by The Standalones.
Thank you Vice for Miami, you give a new step forward to advertorial. I love the fake rebels. They are good for my business.
VICE!!! Stop allowing people to curse on your shows !!!!!!!!
don't be a lil bitch
Informant aka (snitch) so that's how he survived .?
Mickey was not a FBI informant , or he would not be doing 120 months again in FEDERAL PRISON , AS OF TODAY ,MAX MERMERSTEIN IS THE GUY THAT GAVE THEM ALL UP MICKEY AND BOAT CREW , GET YOUR FACT RIGHT YOUNG BOY .
He missed a lot of the real Miami but the vid still made me proud to be 305...
Who goes to Steve pizza ?
