Instead of focusing on potential rehabilitation while they are incarcerated and released, you throw them on the street and continuously intimidate and harass them. The man whose daughter was molested by the nanny does not need to be in a position of authority over this. He is making every offender pay for the nanny's mistakes because he is running on his own emotion instead of reason. I am 100% against sexual and violent crimes done to ANYONE; however, if we as the people aren't trying to find solutions for all involved, we are only adding to the problem.
As someone who endured horrible abuse as a child, I’m disgusted by people like you. You want to try to find some magical solution aka rehabilitation. Do you understand that evil people exist and sometimes there is no logic to their behavior and certainly no cure? They are simply wicked and perverse and they enjoy degradation and pain they inflict. Rehabilitation has been tried. It doesn’t work with perverts. Swift execution of this scum is the best way to rid society of these cruel perverts. This is a society within which someone could potentially have killed someone, have gone to prison, done their time, and get released to live an unrestricted life thereafter.
They should make a registry for all major felony convictions it’s odd that sex offenders typically get short sentences or only probation but are considered such a threat to society that they require registry but other convictions ie murder/attempted murder etc are not bad enough to require offenders to be on a registry or sentence sex offenders to longer sentences
These offenders were convicted and registered on the list. They were let out to the public with restrictions. But unfortunately, they are paying for their sins being homeless. They're NOMADS, always on the move.
Ron Book is ridiculous. Yes. You are defending the innocent but you are also cutting possible rehabilitation of those who have already served time. Ron Book is playing both sides but if you are in your camp, don't trust him.
He is also a neglectful parent. Not knowing your child was being molested by her nanny for five years? Give me a break!! Ron and Lauren Book are both charlatans and the laws they helped enact not only hurt those trying to get right but also those who were convicted of absolutely non-sexual offenses but still required to register as sex offenders.
When he led out with "pedophile," I knew that guy had a chip on his shoulder and that he was bad news. Some people don't know or appreciate the meaning of corrections. To correct. To restore to a better state of being. These people broke the law. They paid their dues. They now should have opportunity to improve their way of life so they can become productive members of society. Ron Book obviously does not believe in this. He's not a solution to anything. He's the problem.
I find him disturbing. It's always the ones who yell the loudest that wind up with a closet full of skeletons. There is an off putting weirdness about him...
When someone is sexually assaulted the victim has to pay for that everyday for the rest of their lives. The one thing on this planet they own has been taken from them. They will never feel safe again. So the fact that these people are also paying for their crime for the rest of their lives makes complete sense. Sex offenders don't rarely feel remorse and if they do it's usually not enough to keep them from re-offending.
USA is a weird country. Sometimes they have the courage to punish people which other jurisdictions don't dare to touch. But on other times the justice is like from the middle age, like here. For these people it'd better to move abroad.

Interesting. Whilst I agree they are a victim of their own actions, I think the authorities should give them some land or at least give them an area so they’re not breaking rules unintentionally. Surely it’s better to have them all in one place then the police know where they are, the locals know where to avoid. Or just lock them back up. Like is said, they are the victims of their own actions but it doesn’t seem fair that the rules keep changing and the goal posts keep moving when most of them have no intention of reoffending or breaking the terms. Just say, here’s your zone. Stay in that zone during curfew and leave them in peace if they’re not breaking the rules. Also if I was a parent I would rather know where to avoid rather than worrying who’s on the end of the street corner.
What would you suggest? If your child was molested where would be the best place they be located? Life in prison would be the best solution. Please educate me
When a sex offender moves into a neighborhood, the property values in that neighborhood are completely gone. People lose their entire investment. If they have kids and want to move the hell out of there, they can't.
I won’t move to a neighborhood with sex offenders nearby. I was abused by a pervert as a kid and I’ll be damned if this happens to my babies. I personally think execution is the best solution. It’s pathetic how much money is spent on evil people.
The property value only goes down because the government feels the need to constantly put peoples photos and addresses online. The property value would be the just as high as anywhere else if the government would stop doing this. They need to allow some sort of reform. Allow for a reevaluation every 10 years for some of them to get off the registry. Right now they're ALL put on an over crowded list and nobody can get off.
Why can’t I assume this? The majority of sex offenders have high recidivism rates. No, I personally wouldn’t hire someone with a serious criminal record. My husband’s place of work hires ex cons and so many of them have stolen shit. But stealing property is nothing compared to child molestation.

2:15. "They committed a crime, and our society has said, "We are gonna treat you differently for the rest of your lives." No, YOU, Ron, have said that. It seems that YOU have been responsible largely for this irrational treatment. It is insanity. These rules are NOT making society safer. You can theorize that they are, but the statistics tell otherwise. The recidivism rates of sexual offenders is LESS than other types of crime, especially the violent crimes eg. assault. The statistics PROVE that. It is a widespread false belief though, that they are the highest risk group. They are not. Especially the older, first time offenders, who had a single victim within their home. That particular category has a near ZERO percent recidivism rate. And yet some people irrationally feel safer living next to a murderer. It isn't fair to these former offenders who've paid their debts and should now be allowed to rejoin society. Why isn't society insisting on the violent criminals who have HIGHER rates of repeat offending than these guys, having to live away from their families, remote from other humans, etc? The Miami Dade 2500 ft rule is a classic example of passing a law without any scientific evidence WHATSOEVER as to efficacy, just so that the prosecutors and judges can appear "tough on crime." But it is hurting humans unfairly and is costing our society.
Dade county has the 4th largest school system in the country, there’s literally schools everywhere you go, push them all to the Everglades is what I say
No one seems to be able to stop it because I think guys like this who are on the full radar are the minority there is a lot of family and friends doing this and everyone stays quiet
So, if the ordinance is causing these homeless camps to pop up, which are breeding grounds for serious diseases, then can Miami-Dade be held responsible if an outbreak occurs? Think about it, no running water, no sanitation, all one of these guys has to do is board a bus or go anywhere in public, and thousands of people can be infected with typhus, cholera, bubonic plague, etc. If they are so dangerous that extra ordinances need to be passed, they should not have been let out of prison.
You want to pay for it? You do know most of them involve young adults having sex with teenagers right. Sometimes teenagers themselves. Example the youngest person placed on the registry was a 10 and 11 yr old. The 11 yr old is still on there at 40 under the same rules, lost his kids in a divorce cause of the list, didn't matter he did nothing since age 11. Think the punishment fits still? How bout the 15 yr old barred from college and having a life for sending a nude photo of himself? No reform eh? Or a mother 35 still being punished for having sex with a 15 year old at 19 and may possibly lose her kids as more restrictions get lumped on. Doesnt matter if your some dumb young adult banging a teen or a vicious monster hiding in the bushes waiting for 5 year old Bobby they're all labeled the same.
@@officialaccountability Banning sex offenders from pitching encampment tents in Miami-Dade county does work to keep sex offenders away from children, but sadly, these Miami-Dade anti-sex-offender decrees are still excessively punitive to these desperate people. And sadly, if you kick them out of the industrial zones into the Everglades--their last-ditch locations---there is a new danger - they can be bitten to death by alligators. If that happens, the county government could be sued for wrongful death by letting them die by those crocs, but with the recent undercurrent of extreme hatred on sex offenders (which I keenly know this anti-chomo hatred), looks like wrongful death lawsuits---if they happen--will be regarded as baseless and thrown out.
With these unaesthetic encampments, there are worries about bathroom waste from these sex offenders, which can lead to especially bacterial diseases like E. coli and even very dangerous necrotizing fasciitis on these offenders, and of course, the stench of their wastes can attract nasty insects and rodents--especially rats, which can themselves carry zoonotic diseases especially if these rats bite them and cause deadly rabies or even hantavirus. That is why there was that new decree that banned these sex offenders from making any more encampments in that county.
The problem is that most sex offenders are not the strong, cool, good looking type of men that many murderers, bank robbers, and drug dealers are. That's the whole problem right there. If them sex offenders looked like some of them gang bangers and drug dealers, .. they would be living with a hot woman, they wouldn't be homeless.. Real talk
When does being a sex offender punishment finish? Question is being a sex offender a one-time mistake or a recurring mental disease? If allowed to live in a community with women or children, can they be trusted not to do the crime again? There is no end to this issue. The offer der themselves can treat themselves. It's up to them to do the crime or not.
The more conservative your state and community is, the worse your life is gonna be if you're on a registry. I just read about a town in Illinois that bought a really nice house in a area where sex offenders were living and tore the house down to put up a park so they could force them out. I thought that was insane. Effective but insane.

@Rise Over here305 Who said anything about rehabilitation? Jails are not for rehabilitation, they are used to help criminals hone their skills. I worked in one for 4-years so I can teach you more about jails than you could ever enlighten me about them.
@Rise Over here305 Did I see any corruption? No, but I'm not stupid enough to act like there was none. Definitely didn't see any deputies murdering anyone but physically assaulting someone who wouldn't cuff up? Yep, that's part of the job. You use whatever means necessary to maintain order. Did I see ANYONE bringing contraband into the jail? NOT ONCE, but it happens ALL THE TIME. Do they separate snitches and sex offenders in all jails, I have no clue. *I only worked in one.* I was a Deputy Sheriff in Los Angeles. You did your FIRST 4-YEARS in jail before you hit the streets. At least that's how things worked back in the 80's when I was out there, I don't know how they do it now. So you ask all these questions to prove what?
@Rise Over here305 Although these things go on in prison, it is not remotely as glamorous as you are making it out to be, especially the murdering part. After spending some time abroad, I understand how you folks abroad over-dramatize some things American. Killings are not abundant like you want to believe. I believe your perception of American prisons and jails is part truth based and part movie based.
I went to a park to enjoy the beautiful lake after huge rainfalls and spoke to a guy sitting in a camp chair. There weren’t very many people around but, as I was leaving, I saw a woman and small boy who had parked in an isolated parking lot away from the beach yet purposefully walking towards the strange man sitting in the beach chair. Now I’m wondering if that little boy was safe!
So.. how are we going to KEEP TRACK of PREDATORS if we DON'T KNOW were they LIVE???? How are you gonna protect schools and kids if you make it so you dont know were the danger are?
just having to say the words: “l molested” (blank, blank, blank) when asked “what did you do to be placed on the registry” would already be a death sentence to me. l wouldn’t want to exist with that lifetime label, that’d be an absolute everyday living nightmare
I would think it would be more dangerous to have sex offenders living a nomadic lifestyle & not being able to easily locate them & keep track of them not to mention if they are living together as nomads they might influence each other to reoffend lastly they may as well extend their jail/prison sentence if they want them to be further persecuted or require them to be on the ankle bracelet

This is blatant torture that isn’t even actually effective to keep children safe either. these people are trash yes
I have a question, though: are just about any adult in the US, especially adult makes aware of all those rules and regulations? I mean, do they know you're just not just facing a prison sentence but also homelessness, sleeping in tents, pushed from one street corner to the other? So my question is: doesn't it work as a deterrent? Shouldn't that be part of awareness campaigns? Showing the most of the time irreversible damage to children but also what your life will be like. It could work, right? Are most people aware of all those details before they offend and live it for themselves?
I can't say I feel bad for these people. Only exceptions is like if the girl is over 16 and the guy is younger than 21. Otherwise, I really don't feel bad that they're on the streets. The teacher that touched his students, the uncle that touched his niece. Both should've known better so enjoy living in the streets
The sad thing is not all those offenders are the same. A lot of undevious cases get thrown in with the devious. When he said “push away” it made me think of olden days where they had “ sanctuary cities” where people like this could be.
Problem with sex offenders is they don't get better maybe they could volunteer to be physically castrated then be allowed back into society? That's the only real solution as far as I'm concerned.
It’s insane we are willing to try children as adults in some cases but automatically they are the victim even if they are the predator to the adult! You can’t have it both ways!
I don't feel bad for these people, but this seems like this has created a bigger problem. Homelessness and poverty has a correlation with crime. Also this just seems like a waste of police time to be chasing these people around the county. Allow them to be beneficial members of society, otherwise don't all them to return to society. It's pretty obvious that this guy is only doing this to protect his political standing, but he doesn't actually care.

They should’ve thought about that before preying on ppl

@@charlessmith263They don’t all have direct child victims. It’s often for non-contact offenses and petty offenses such as indecent exposure.

And now with COVID19, what you said can even be more timely before its own time!!
Exactly

Sex offender: Where else can i live since its 2500 ft.
Ron Book: Well its not my problem.
Sex offender: Where can i use the bathroom.
Ron Book: you better find a spot.
Sex offender: Why can't I set up a tent
Ron Book: once again i don't give a shit. But i will be sending the police to burn your tents
I like to ask Ron point-blank exactly where he does expect them to live.
@@tedmccarron that's the point. He doesn't expect them to live among the people. Thats why he exiled them all
@Rise Over here305 actually it is a violent crime
@@MCELVAINE6996 they can't make it so that no matter what you do is illegal. There have to be reasonable ways to comply with the law. As to your comment towards that other person some of these sex offenses were violent, some definitely were not.
@Rise Over here305 to the powers that be its not about two wrongs its about over punishment and control
You KNOW, there IS Pervert Park down the way in St.Petersburg..even has its own videos and movies.
It's probably full up. They need more places like that.
I believe everyone deserves a second chance they already have paid for their mistake in prison I was sexual abused when I was 8 years old I know the person who did it messed up my life but the only one that has the right to judge people it’s God…
Just give them shelter, work and rehab programs.

I don't feel sorry for none of them. I feel sorry for the victims
Exactamundo 👍
They don’t all have direct victims.
With homelessness out of control in the us and it now being the only advanced economy to have shantytowns, I'm pretty sure these rules are irrelevant now.
Should we feel sorry for them or what?
I don’t lmao

Ok, I’ve been naive. I won’t be dreaming about traveling and having a nomadic lifestyle like the young people on social media. This is frightening!
They should have a designated housing/apartment area for them
I don’t remember any of them from the sex offender shuffle
Living in Miami we have gotten use to seeing these offenders living this way and we're ok with it because of their crimes....
@Rise Over here305 dna don’t lie
@@sbsmagnolia7359 you know many people are on the registry where DNA was even involved, but more of other forms of proof alot
You do realize homelessness creates more crime. Not to mention we the people pay for homeless peoples resources. So in turn we are paying to take care of sex offenders
@@sbsmagnolia7359 It ain't about DNA when the "victim" claims it was rape after consenting just because the guy is no longer interested.

Not all people on the registry did something wrong, there is alot of innocent people on it .
Everyone make a mistake. They made a sexual mistake. And you can say that was 100 percent on them. But america this is on your culture norms of not talking with the youth about sex. This thing is not a big thing in Europe because they have discussion about sex consent and proper sexual behavior.
This is predatory behavior, children can't give consent.
it's more about not accepting what's normal and not accepting someone else having the right to withhold consent.
E.g. what behavior is 'proper' is up to the person declaring it.
these guys live near my house, man some of these guys sometimes arent even sex offender they are thieves, for what ever reason, i really don't know how to react when one of these guys just show up to ask money.

Too bad, they put themselves in this situation.
It it really unfair? Naw it’s s not.
the Everglades ha if the sex offenders did move there give them a few years (politicians) would put a school park or day care there 2
You do know most of them involve young adults having sex with teenagers right.
@@WeirdZoRs How'd he even GET kids, in prison since h was a preadolescent himself?
They should go to prison and stay in prison until their victim forgives them. Gonna be a lot of lifers.
So what about people with victimless crimes? Then what?
Thing is almost all sex offenders have been sexually abused as children. And until they forgive there abusers this is what happens. The cycle.
@Rise Over here305 in wisconsin they have extra charges for c.p. Per count you pay $1000
no other crime sentencing works by the victim deciding the punishment. that's just bizarre and obviously impartial.
Dont do the crime if you can't the time
Put they did the time
