I’d like to repaint an explore I’m looking at grabbing. But I’m just gonna sand the top coat with 400 grit and then paint. Once the shine is gone then the paint has something to stick to. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Hi Micheal how did you go about removing the paint from the back of the neck? Did you apply the paint thinners and then scrape the paint off the back or did you just spend loads of time sanding it? Thanks mate
So sorry for the late reply. To remove the paint on the neck I used the paint remover, and sanded after that. Removing the paint on this guitar was the hardest part. If I knew beforehand that there was a veneer under the paint I wouldnt have done all that work. My idea originally was to stain the guitar, but the wood was so crap that solid colour spray was the only thing that would hide blemishes.

How did you strip the paint from the neck?
Paint stripper and elbow grease.
