Hi Steve!
I remember you wondering in a video, long ago, if you should continue to do these karting videos or not. I say: Keep 'em coming me laddie!
To people who only sporadically take up this kind of motorsport, this shows the 'how-to' in karting. I've learnt so much watching these videos. For instance, the small but important things like what to do with the weights, the fuelcap, where to throw the holding pins, the handsigns on track and how the 'attack' mode isn't always the way to go . This is a treasure chest of savoir-racing for the interested karting wannabe.
The camera standpoint is really convincing and the sound-balance between ambient noise and the voice-over is simply perfect (very rare!) which makes watching the videos NOT an excruciating experience :-)
I'm looking forward to the next season!!
Perfect stuff mate, thanks for the comment and happy to hear it is helping you!
This comment just made me realize why I like these videos so much
@@mrcoffeeman3333 same
"let's hope for a nice clean race"
*orange dude overtakes*
"just kinda scope out where the stewards are and aren't watching, then go for the full big send. That's always an option"
lmao
How do you think I won my first go kart race, maldonado style
I was laughing at work over that comment
@Colten Griffin I definitely believe both of you. Definitely not a scam or anything.
Seeing IRL racing on this channel makes me so happy. Please stay at 0 dislikes
Cheers mate, glad you like it.
@@Super_GT I did, it was a great vid. Excellent driving! I hope you showcase your skill in more videos like this!
@@Super_GT when does the next Kart season start? it is by far my fav out of all your content.

I love this content. Real life vs. Virtual racing. All commented on by a knowledgeable and witty driver.
Steve: I am SuperGT. This kart race is mine!
*Joe Holmes joins the lobby*
Steve: _Ah shit, here we go again_
Awesome job and awesome sportsmanship!
Plot Twist: You sent Steve Hicks into the Shadow Realm
Keep up the great racing! They are all good fun to watch!
Strong finish, Mate! I say R4M next time!!
I like how u talk all your options out
Steve mate. If you insist on that helmet you need to wear white overalls and go full Stig.
16:35. Say no more.
second place crossed the line first thats a penilty
hello mate. do you brake for last corner?
Love your karting videos man! What kart do you own? Or do you rent?
FastChickenzz He drives in Club 100 its a series where everybody gets the same Kart don’t know wich one though
Ah okay, thanks!
Been waiting for this 😍
I've been waiting for you 😏
Gotta see you out in these karts again soon!
You should play this game JD you will not lag at all
@@nikosnathanail70 As long as racing line is turned off
STEVE IS HOSTING THE LOBBY ASK HIM 😅
Your numerical values in this video are off the charts haha
I think Kosta the Greek God of Speed's human DRS is just superior to your R4M human DRS technology, at the very least worth the aforementioned millions of tenths per straight, might want to revisit the wind tunnel in winter testing mate
Also, seems like we have a Fraga vs. Hizal situation on our hand for next season with you and Hicks. Very much looking forward to the next races
Absolutely. We're gonna be spending the big bucks over winter to hit the 2020 season hard. Aiming to secure the services of Adrian Newey to help out on aero and draft in Toto Wolff for team tactics.
@@Super_GT at 15:28 steve goes wide and has 4 wheels off the track(and 1 or 2 other times) shouldnt that be a penalty?
13:21 When I drive on the straights I tuck in my shoulders(point them towards my stomach), put my elbows slightly towards each other(elbows pointing at hips) and put the top of the visor on the steering wheel, and let the head stay there, not just a short bow. If I need more vision I bend back in the neck, i don't raise my head.
@Super GT You're a driver, so you know when not to do this, but it really helps. I gain ~150ms on average on my track, which has a relatively short straight.
I'm 6'5 and have broad shoulders, so if I don't try to become more aerodynamic it's too big of an advantage for everyone else.

@@nickterzis11 1x Google Translate later. No I'm not. I'm just another driver. I have driven even longer than Super GT. 24 years now.
@@AtotehZ Why do they only duck down for a fraction rather than for the full length of the straights? Common sense says it would be even more important at the end of the straight.
@@ivanszana human drs baby, they get back up earlier to assist in braking so they don't overshoot T1
I really love this vids Steve, keep going with this❤️💪
Cheers mate! Will do
and congratulations on your 2nd place !!!
This is top quality content SuperGT. You could do a karting event and get a sizeable attendance if you keep up this series.
I love everything about the editing of these videos, from the commentary, the laps you skip to the chatting at the end and of course the fantastic outro tune. Cheers, thanks for sharing.
Loving the content as usual Steve!
Thank you!
Surprised nobody was lapping backwa... Oh wait it isn't Forza
I paused the beginning of the video just to say that I'm rooting for you!! I hope you win!
Edit: Well, it wasn't meant to be. Next season!! Kudos for maintaining that positivity. 🙏🏻
14:47 all 4 wheels off track .. no penalty?
Steve got a warning for very marginal and only potentially being wide in that same during the endurance race the previous day as well
And again at 15:30
Several times he should have received a penalty, or at least one warning and then a penalty.
Top 10 rappers eminem is afraid to race
I like how you activate DRS
At 13:30 I said, out loud, "take out your bottom ribs"
At 13:41 I laughed quite loudly
You should have laughed at 13:51...I don't know how nobody got that reference
Awesome to see such friendliness between all the drivers, well done.
Atleast you didn't finish 6th in the championship
Anyone who disliked this video needs to be sent to the shadow realm
Love the vids!!
Question - How close are these cars really? It seems like there is always one cart that is almost untouchable......well, with the right driver. Lol
I'd say about 4-5 tenths between the best and worst with most between 3 tenths
Super GT Wow, that is much closer than I expected. Appreciate the content sir!
16:28 Steve be rapping AGAIN!
Commenting before watching - Send it Super GT! Haven't wanted a win as much since Hill/Schumacher 94
Love the camaraderie at the end. Really nice to see.
That first cart you were chasing was insane on the strait...
Really enjoyed the whole season, wishing we had something like this in the states locally.
Lo206? Afaik is very similar.
we do, check out las vegas, etc. Problem is, it's a big country.
@@Antonin1738 that's what I meant by locally. I have 1 track an hour south of me and another an hour and a half north. For now I go to the smaller indoor tracks and try to build a local group of people that can convince the establishments to have structured events.
Most indoor tracks aren't the same. Outdoor tracks are very different. I feel the 1 hour journey might be worth it if you are serious about it.
Will make you a better driver. It did for me.
@@engared I completely agree it's a better experience on a larger outdoor track. I take my car on the track several times a year, both for drag racing and road course.
I did some digging into the karts you mentioned and it's seems around here its 200-300 rental per race. That's about how much a road course costs for the day.
19:35 MALAKAAAA greek god of speed
Well done man, great racing from you as always. Love the broadcast edits in as well!
@13:35 , through chicane, shows the height difference. You're almost a helmet height above all the guys around you 😂
Bad luck lad but 2nd in a championship isnt to be sniffed at.
I've done testing for ducking behind the wheel and it only helps over 100km/h on long ish straights
This was another great video, start a go fund me to rent a day in the car, you honestly deserve the drive. 👍🏻🏁
Maybe stretching certain parts of your back and gaining more flexibility there might allow you to shape yourself as aerodynamically as Costa, the greek God of Speed.
Mind Blown. I thought your name was Mr GT, first name : Super
What's up with the exhaust on the karts? That's not the normal rotax max exhaust.
So you won nothing for coming 2nd?
Great videos mate couldn't wait to see this one more entertaining than the current f1 grid lol between all of you at the front is such small margins of error. What is it that you think you need to improve on for next year? Unless you want to keep that under wraps
14:46 he goes all 4 wheels off
15:31 he goes all 4 wheels off
I love these videos. Man, you do not ever see that kind of sportsmanship in racing anywhere else. Very well done. NASCAR drivers could take a lesson or two from these fellows.
I might be taking part in a Sunday Test session at Red Lodge!
hard luck Steve, Been a pleasure following this season, really look forward to the next!
Just looked like your kart in the super final wasnt up to it. Shame cos you've done brilliantly 👊
What's your karting nickname then? I like SCS, not the sofa company just Second Class Steve. :)
at 13:28 , Super GT claims that "the greek god of speed" gains 1,000,000 tenths of a second....
With some simple maths (1M tenths * 1s) makes it so that, Kosta gains **1.15 DAYS** worth of time due to his extreme aerodynamic capabilities.
Id love to get into kart racing, i do live in the usa, but how did you get started and what are some expected price points? Im a beginner to racing but would love to learn
Hold on he went out of track limits twice in that final... Where is the penalties, you deserved the drive mate you're a top guy.
If you even visit northeast usa I recommend you visit NJMP Karting Track, it’s rather difficult and different.
You are so much taller Steve. At least it appears so, than the other drivers. Aero disadvantage. Enjoyed your karting coverage/journey!
Ferrari should really take note of your 'potential strategy'
especially going full R4M and hit their opponent where the stewards aren't watching
Good on you Steve! spectacular performances and good sportsmanship. Get em next season. GET IN THERE LEWIS
Definately removed some ribs! Keep the karting vids coming. Your commentary is both entertaining and informative.
Did you just sync your comments with the crotch shots at 3:01?
We got a (flashes crotch) big... problem here and that (flashes crotch) big problem is...
Did he change to the car he had in the first race or am i wrong?
I changed kart, yes
@@Super_GT no i meant "i think he just changed to the slow kart he had in the 1st race"
I don't know if this suggestion still counts because I have a Rotax max 125 Evo but when you are about to start , lift the carburetor choke so you don't bug down the kart and to warm the tires keep going from side to side then when you get 2 corners before starting get in your position but keep warming your tires evenly
I had no previous interest in racing or anything to do with it - RUclips suddenly recommends your channel and now I cant get enough. Your humour and commentary is second to none, these videos are honestly fascinating. For 20 minutes nothing else pops into my head, I am completely engrossed in your content which is a great feat in this day and age.
Keep it up my dude
You should post some practice heats and go over some mechanics as far as lines on corners/track condition outside of them and the like for some educational content for those looking to/just getting into kart racing. You seem pretty good (Former motorcycle racer 600 class bikes)
As great as the championship is, it would be so less frustrating if all karts handled the same and had same performance from the engine. Closer racing and you wouldn’t be left feeling hard done by in a bad kart that you’ve paid to race in.
Next year will be your year, I may sound like a ferrari fan but well done 👍
13:38 "[..]if it was for karting or another purpose i don't know"
That fucking killed me lmao
Oh man, you always seem to get screwed. Crap cart, unfair penalities in GT Sport...
For supposedly equal karts, that's some large gaps in performance out there, specially on the Super Final.
Am i the only one who noticed that GT rival(orange suit) went of the track with 4 wheels like 2/3 times? I thought that wasnt allowed
I believe he has removed two of his ribs. The first was to try cannibalism in an ethical way, and the second was to craft himself a wife. Becoming more aerodynamic for karting was a useful side effect.
Just found this. One of the cleanest, most respectful races I’ve ever seen. Pure sportsmanship. Well done.
I've recently seen people use DRS by sliding all the way down towards the pedals. I guess you'd need literal balls of steel to do that in these karts though.
When is the surgery scheduled for the rib removal? Too bad you are head and shoulders taller than the rest of the drivers. How about developing bad posture?
Are there going to be Kart Races over the Winter? I don`t know how much snow you have there or how low the temperature is dropping.
I feel that you are scrubbing too much momentum off when you jerk the steering wheel as you enter a turn. Is it possible to smooth that out? or is jerking the correct way to do it?
your problem is in the go pro . get rid of it hhh. also how all f1 drivers were very young when then joined the f1 . is it talent , family name or wealth ?
Boo! Well next year’s a cert Steve! We need that sports car special from you 😎
How do you know when to lift the radiator flap up? I race with the same engine but we have a device on our steering wheel to tell us what the water temp is.
Damn. Not all videos end with a happy ending. Congrats to Hicks
good luck i really hope you win the test day, if theres anyone who i think deserves it more than anyone else its you
Was the kart running out of gear on the top end or losing power? Either way, nice driving.
What was the guy in front of you doing with his right hand at 11:53? Is he trying to block the airbox and heat the engine up?
Will someone explain why they tuck? is it for more speed for the straights?
What are u using to attach your gopro to your helmet ? Do you have a link or something to see what it is or buy it ?
Pause at 14:48 and then again at 15:31. Steve Hicks has all four wheels outside the line. Isn't that a penalty?
Can u do some tips on kart setups i bought some stuff but didnt know if they are okay or bad 😂
You have the same issue as me in regards to height. You should slide your arse forward in the seat to lower your sail of a head out of the way instead of leaning forward.
Sorry to see you didn’t get it this year mate. Keep pushing you’ll get it next time.
What are you checking when you look down between your legs around the starting grid?
love the videos, but what is that white spray thing the "mechanic" sprays on the kart at the end of the race
Equal carts my ass. So inconsistent. Its a lottery. They need to fix that.
Enjoying this video series dude!
I want to try this one year, is it expensive?
Yeah your car is not acting right I can tell it's under steering almost every damn corner
Exciting season! Hopefully better luck in the next one!
I don't know what it is but when they give them a thumbs up and a handshake it makes me happy
Idk why that "Anime" line made me laugh harder than it should've
13:54 lol
Next year you will come back faster than ever!
