Thank you so much Nicki and for subscribing!! I am so lucky to finally have a wonderful space in which to create.........and to have met my Mark, too! Thank you hon!! Hugs, Deb
Love your happy space. What a joy to work in. You lucky lady. I'm in the garage, freezing in winter, baking hot in summer....can't wait for my own real space
I love my creative space so much and always feel happy when I'm in it! It was a long time coming and I treasure it! Thank you and hopefully one day soon, you'll have your own magic space! Hugs, Deb
Thank you so very much for that sweet comment!! You are a dear heart! That space means so very very much to me and makes me happy every time I go down there to create! Hugs, Deb
I’m so glad there is someone like myself that repurposes old furniture.....I have three old tables for sewing and cutting on, an old dresser used for ironing on top of it, a table my husband made that holds my surger and fabric cutting machines.....I took an old office chair that rolls about and hand painted it to match the hand painted valences I made. I have two bookcases I brought from a previous house and for more shelves I just put up metal bracing and I cut 1x 12 boards to place on top. In one corner I put lime green and turquoise tubs to store fabric off in the corners which match the various lime green and turquoise containers I found at the dollar store. I put plastic lime green baskets hooked to the wall and they hold my scraps which I make fabric with. A foldable round hamper from Walmart hold rolls of paper, batting scraps, and interfacing. I have two windows but wish I could put in more, I love to sew when sunlight shines onto the table. One area I took pushpins and hung the photos of children who have received my RareBears who have incurable diseases. My favorite spot is a old wingback chair next to a JoAnn fabrics swing light and that’s where I can do hand stitching in comfort or watch quilt blogs.....while my husband watches his killer bang bang movies in the family room.......like right now...lol In my art studio we repurposed solid wood doors into tables by making our own legs from left over 4x4s. I have a 4 x 8 sheet of 1 in blue insulation board and I put that onto of the table in my dining room for a laying out batting or blankets for sandwiching quilts. I plan to repurpose my art studio for large quilt projects and for a design board area. I put UF projects in the $4 plastic snap containers Walmart sells for scrap booking......I love how they stack and usually buy 2 at a time here and there. I just bought a small steam iron which I love because a heavy iron is hard on my wrists.....it was $15 in housewares in Walmart but only $ 9.99 in the craft area and had a better feature for steaming .....I love it. My Christmas gift from hubby was a light box that has a feature of a cutting Matt you can see designs thru and cut them to precision......supposedly it’s on its way...glad I ordered early..... I love your sewing room....just shows you don’t need IKEA to make a room joyful....saving more money to buy more material with....🥰
What a GREAT comment and I agree with you totally! I get a thrill out of repurposing things and finding creative ways to make what I want! The sense of pride that I feel having cobbled together my studio with odds and ends and finds from over the years makes me so happy and proud. You have some fabulous ideas and I hope others will read your comment and pick up some of your ideas to use as their own. If you would like to email me some photos of your spaces, I would love to share them with my viewers on our Sunday Live Stream! We always love learning new tricks! I can't wait to see your new lightbox/cutting mat!! It sounds perfect! Send email to: ourtimetoquilt@twc.com. We'd love to have you join our Groups IO as well and if you would like to, let me know. Lol after I settle from making charity quilts because I’ve been digging thru my tubs and every time I find another quilt crying out to be hugged by a lonely person. I will gladly join your group..I’m interested in doing landscape quilts.....I’m a artist and a potter so my creative juices slush around in my head all the time. I use to paint 15 x 30 ft murals. I’ve painted wallpaper for Victoria Secret.......I’ve painted walls for Universal Studios in Florida and ceiling in the burn units at Liola Children’s hospital..........but now I want to paint material for quilts. I had my grd kiddos and their homeschoolers make hand painted squares with permanent pens and then made them into quilts for Project Linus Kids. They loved seeing what they did to make a sick child feel loved. I will start taking pics so you can see what I did in my sewing room...thank you for asking me into your group. 😄

Our Time To Quilt, I loved your sewing room tour. I actually saw some ideas I'm gonna steal from you. Lol :) I sold my dream house last year :( & had to downsize :( but God Blessed me when I bought my current house, I had asked him for a large sewing room, fairly new A/C & roof & a place to store stuff. He gave me all of it & then some. My sewing room is a sunroom addition & is a perfect size for my sewing room, it's a really great size, I just hope I have enough room for all of my machines, fabric & my, well, everything else that comes with my quilting & sewing hobby. I just can't get motivated to just finish unpacking & organizing everything. I love the color of your room, it's so calming. Do you happen to know what the paint color is & where you got it from? One thing I do after I paint a room is to get the little paint chart, from the store, circle the color I used & I tape it up in the closet or in a place that's not noticeable. That way if I need to get more paint for any reason I know exactly what color it is. Oh, & I write the name of the store on the back too. Thanks again for sharing!
It is from Valspar, Name is Destiny, 5003-5B from Lowe's. I am so in love with that color and it makes me so happy just to be in the room!! Thank you!!

I absolutely love your sewing room! I have one neat suggestion...on your hall area counter in the cubby area between the cubes you can put a couple of tension rods to store spools of ribbon, rick rack, lace etc.
What a GREAT idea!!! I had also been storing hoops on pegs but they always fall down - I could use tension rods for ribbons and my hoops! Thank you!!!

Thank you so much Linda! I love the feel of that space! It does inspire me! Hugs, Deb
Hi! What a dream space. Wow ♡ do you know the brand & name of your wall color? I am in love with it! You gave me some good ideas to think about in my own space. That roll around cutting table with the flip up side, want to do that for sure!
It is a Valspar paint. I'll find the name tomorrow. Thank you for your kind comments hon. That table is terrific for working on larger pieces of fabric! I am very lucky to have that much space. I spent plenty of years sewing on my dining room table and will always pinch myself at my good fortune!
The paint was made by Valspar and is the Reserve level and color 5003 Destiny. Thank you so much!!!
It is from Valspar, Name is Destiny, 5003-5B from Lowe's. I am so in love with that color and it makes me so happy just to be in the room!! Thank you!!
Thank you I had brain surgery and forgot it was a French door. Getting better I can sew again.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are doing better now hon! Hugs, Deb

What’s the size of your quilt room
It's about 12 X 17 with a hallway
Thank you Muis 2! I love how found and rejected objects have all come together to form a sweet space that I love to spend time in! You are very welcome! It's fun for me to create on a budget - it's like a treasure hunt and challenge and means all the more to me afterwards. I would love to see a photo of where you do your creating! ourtimetoquilt@twc.com

I just found your videos and I'm enjoying your sharing immensely. I noticed that you have a lot of vintage linens and wanted to share a site that you may find useful. ruclips.net/user/headredkc She also has a FaceBook page that has many ideas and of course other followers with their work.
I look forward to watching your other videos because you remind me of my sisters! I have six! We are all crafty in some way or other. God bless you for giving of yourself! Pegi
