Our Time To Quilt!
США
Добавлен 12 фев 2018
I am passionate about Quilting! I first learned about quilting when I took a beginner's class back around 1989. I'm mostly self taught which helped form my 'can do' style. I have enjoyed taking classes in the last 10 years to further grow my knowledge of this art form. I paint with fabric and find it to be a deeply satisfying art form. I enjoy giving gifts that come from my heart and hands.
I started teaching quilting a few years ago but felt that I could find a larger audience by coming on You Tube. I also love meeting other quilters and passing on my love of quilting! In these busy times, I find that the personal touch and a relaxed style of teaching might be what some quilter's are looking for.
My Live Streams have become my favorite part of my Channel. I love the real time interaction they provide and the ability of my subscribers to contribute and help drive my channel content. I wish it to be a warm and inviting place - a community for all to share. Welcome!

I am trying to find that roller. Site says inactive
Sadly the roller was bought by a major bead company and then discontinued. I am so sad because it was truly my favorite. So sorry hon.
I am going to use my used adult coloring book pages. All ready decorated.
What a great idea!! There are so many ways you can make your own paper bead strips! I often use permanent markers and make my own doodle designs which I then cut into strips! I would love to see photos of what you make: ourtimetoquilt@twc.com I do a weekly Show and Tell of viewer art!
I love love LOVE those string up beads and painted cans!
Sunny beaches! How did I miss this?
I rescheduled from last Sunday. Sorry hon! I will be back to normal by this Sunday! Big hugs, Deb
You look lovely on your new YT photo! 😍😍♥♥
Thank you dear Mary! That photo is from my wedding day!! Hugs, Deb Ps- hope you and Mark are feeling better!
You are awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Love the quilt that is in your background. I'm sorry that I couldn't make it for the live presentation. That baby quilt turned out great. They will love it. I am feeling better thank you. I am using the leaf quilt blocks for a table runner. I'll do an update soon on that. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
Thank you dear Bonni! I am happy that you are feeling better! I love all the projects you are working on! You are a busy woman! Take good care hon. Hugs, Deb
So happy my videos and pictures of the Colorwash quilts have inspired your own version of my Colorwash
I am thrilled to hear from you!!! Thank you so much! I can't wait to finish it - it has been a joy to create. I first heard about it on The Last Homely House and so I went to your site and fell in love with your style!!! I am so tickled you got to see how your work is bring fun and joy into scrap quilting!!!! Many thanks, Deb
Thank u. Good show
thank you so very much! How kind of you! Hugs, Deb
This is. Pat, don’t know why name changed.
I don't know why either??? I'm so sorry. good luck hon.
Hello! I found you!
What is the name of that book you like that teaches using samplers? Thanks!
Torchon Lacemakers by Jan Tregidgo It is a great instruction and idea book! Hugs, Deb
I would LOVE to learn to do a thread bowl thing.
I will be posting what Sunday we will be making it! Keep posted! I think it would be fun. You can collect your surplies: Water Soluable Stableizer, decorative yarns and threads. If you have a couching foot for your sewing machine - that might be helpful. Also think of what size you want to make your bowl and have a form to drape it on once you've sewn it. It could be another vase. Here is my email address if you have any other questions. ourtimetoquilt@twc.com
Jodi is the queen for sure!!
On the replay crew. Your art quilt looks great! So happy you have deer in your yard. How sweet. I always wondered how you could do 2 shows a week. I think it’s a great idea to scale back to give yourself more ‘me’ time. You’re gonna love the Roomba!
Thank you so much hon! That deer hasn't come back again and we miss her! I think she comes to eat before we wake up!!! My hostas aren't fans of hers! Thank you for understanding my need to have some more 'me' time. I got a lot of cleaning done on my room and that made me feel so much better today. We got the vacuum today and it's a Shark version and it's GREAT so far!!! More time to sew!!! Hugs, Deb
It beautiful. Have fun with it
Thank you so much! I think it came out pretty good! I spent hours last night working on lesson 1. It is fun! Thank you Anna! Hugs, Deb

On the replay crew. I hope your shoulder gets better soon. You have me intrigued about making lace and weaving in general.
Shoulders are tricky but mending a little more each day, thank you! I just love the hand arts and want to keep them going. Plus trying new things keeps me productive and happy! I am loving it! Big hugs, Deb

Thank you dear heart but I would miss y'all too much if I didn't come on! I love your newest quilt! Just beautiful! Thanks so much for reaching out and your sweet wishes! It is very exciting for us and we've worked hard to make it work! Hugs, Deb
I know you’re not current but you are the only one who says you don’t have to use 10 inches of your pretty paper! You can make a million beads wit a batik🩷
I still make paper beads when I want to do something relaxing and mindless! I am too frugal to waste good paper so when I can figure out how to do it more cheaply! There is nothing that's as exciting as getting a great color large envelope in the mail! Thank you for taking the time to reach out! I will make a new bead making video in June! Hugs, Deb
@@ourtimetoquilt8495 I Have found a lot of envelopes I get have a black and white print of some kind on the inside. I’m going to try that print over scrap white paper to see how they turn out. ( my other hobby on hold is quilting) Thanks for the video!
@@janice1131 Those are called security envelopes to keep anyone from trying to see what's inside. I LOVE making beads from those. I've even used envelopes that have printing inside that says 'please recycle' which is think is perfect for making beads!! he he I cut them into 2.5 inch wide strips and glue them on the end of a piece of junk sheet paper and then cut it into strips. You only need just enough to wrap that last printed bit around the bead! People are always surprised that I made them out of junk mail! Have fun! Oh and I'm going to teach a free class on making Storm at Sea quilts in July. I am going to do it zoom style so if you'd like to participate, email me! ourtimetoquilt@twc.com, to sign up. Hugs, Deb
Those roller knifes are X-Acto knife would be good too
Great hints! I love best using regular scissors ....the repeat process of it all! Fun zen activity! Hugs, Deb
Do you ever put resin on them?
I've never tried that! I now like using Triple Thick by Deco Art. Thanks! Hugs, Deb
I love it
I am so happy you like it! It is my best work yet! Hugs, Deb
Hello
I'm sorry Michele... I didn't have a show today because Becky spent the afternoon with me for Mother's Day and that was just too irresistible! My shows will be sporatic the next three weeks because of our wedding plans. Please take good care of yourself! Hugs, Deb
Your art quilts are amazing, all the best for the wedding ❤
Thank you so very much hon! I do love finding a way to make these ideas to inspire you - it ends up inspiring me even more! Hugs, Deb
Hi Deb, what beautiful work you do! I absolutely love your dahlia, and the leaves and background are perfect. I didn't start that one, but am so tempted to now. I can't wait to see the thread painting. And that bowl, WOW! You are a bad influence to finishing my UFOs, haha. I just want to do ALL the new projects!!! I recently picked up a two-pack of those continuous spray bottles in the laundry section at Walmart. They are pretty good, maybe not as good as my Gypsy Quilter one, but for the price very good. I see all of your children are creative in their own ways, much like you! Happy Mother's Day! 🤍Joni
Tornadoes are scary! I have a lot of them!! Best wishes to Mrs and MR Mark!! Happy Wedding
Yes they are and I hope you always stay safe. Thank you dear Marsha!! Hugs, Deb
