In this demo I am testing out the new Golden Acrylics Color Pouring Medium Gloss and Matte. I wanted to see if it would work in a straight pour. It did not. A little Rain X saved a very blah painting and turned it into something very cool. I'm using Liquitex Basics Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Light Hue, Pthalo Blue and Quinacridone Magenta.

Very fantasy I see a lot of characters in the background and waterfalls big leafy flowers pretty Whimsical fantasy
You got me at the end with "painting pickle"🤣😊
Matt and flat paint pulls the shine out of glossier paint!
Yes, but they create cells without silicone. I’m going to varnish anyway, so I’d rather go for the effect.
Great job 🍁
I love playing ...cool stuff. See you in the sandbox. Haha.
Your vids are informative & super entertaining! Thank you.
Thank you! 🙏
There is something to be said about fixing a problem...well done!!!!!
Thank you! 🙏
I love it that you share what you feel were failures, show how you resolved the problem, and give us the motivation to keep trying!! So many times you see failure after failure and it gets discouraging. It really does help to know that even the experts struggle sometimes too!
When experimenting, your results aren’t predictable so you have to be flexible.
Very pretty Gina. I love your experiments 😊❤️
Thank you! 🙏
So so nice! I really like this! Wow!!!!
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks for showing this piece dry! Liked watching you using the air tool. Great job to moving this from average looking to great!
"Like doing salt in a dark restaurant". Sounds like a deep metaphor for life hahah
So awesome! I always learn so much from your video’s! Thank you for sharing them.
I think it turned out brilliantly, Gina! Great rescue!
I am freaking out! Lol Who knew RainX was an art material. 😊 But that just seems to be the way of this wonderful, crazy art form. Thanks for always showing us amazing things.
LOOOVE the color!!! Can't wait to try the RainX!
I love your experimentation. It turned out great and It's interesting.
That was a worthwhile experiment thanks for taking your time & using your supplies. I do actually like the contrast of the matte green 👍🏼
Looks like a ocean bottom with coral and rocks.....Beautiful
I had that happen today, had 5 colours and looked like just 2. Interesting to see the rainx
Love the colors and you pulled it out of the Ho-Hum pile very nicely - it ended up really beautiful!
This painting is REALLY neat!!!
Totally way cool!!! Beautiful!
Wow, nice new technique, Gina! 👏🏻
Thank you 😊
I love how the rain x looks like geodes! I need to go get rain x!!
Fantastic!! I love it 🥰
Kudos! What a great save.
Beautiful reminds me of the surface of pond life.
Loved at so much at the beginning 🤭🥰
Great save!
Thank you 🙏
Wow it looks so cool 👌🏽🔥
Turned out great! ❤️ Thank you! 🌹
Thank you 😊
very beautiful
Thank you 🙏
Wow!!!
Right?! RainX to the rescue!
How lovely...wow Rainx
Thank you 🙏 who knew?!
Very cool!!!! Love the “ethereal” look!!
Thank you 😊
Each pour, I think you just cant beat the last one, then you keep going with ideas to help salvage a pour and create another that is just gorgeous. I was sitting here telling you over and over to do a tiny spray of raineX while moving the spray fast sideways. And then you once again turn it into a stunning canvass. That larger 'flower' cell at the bottom left is just awesome.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful
I love your videos they are really helpful. You obviously were born knowing how to paint!
Haha! Noooo! I spent my whole life thinking I could do almost any artform except painting until 3 years ago. It’s never too late!
Love it 😍
Please do an aurora borealis. I've done one kinda successful until my hubby sprayed black spray paint across the top. He thought it was lacquer. Good thing I love him because I didn't like him that day. 😂this one is gorgeous!
Oh man! I’m glad he survived! 😂
Wow !!! 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
newish subscriber, been following for about a week, just wanted to say I love the way you're constantly experimenting and looking for ways to manipulate the outcomes more deliberately while still embracing the randomness of the medium, to me that's the difference between "dumping paint on a canvas" and "acrylic pouring art." Your art is gorgeous, and I really appreciate that you share your experiments, techniques, and knowledge so generously. Thank you :)
Thank you very much. 🙏❤️
This one is looking very watery to me...like a pond/lake with lily pads.
beautiful!
Got the cards. So helpful, thank you. Looks like a lightening strike on sea
Fantastic
Came out beautiful
Thank you 🙏
Very cool
Thank you! 🙏
That has really awesome fantastic
I love it
Wow.......!!!
This one reminds me of a tide pool like sea enemies😁
Ok, I think I have the wrong rain x. Your an awesome teacher Gina!
Thank you 😊
I really like how you persevered until you got something you liked! So many of us go into the painting with an expectation, then quit when things don’t work. Thanks for showing us another way!
Also, I’m not sold on that pouring medium.....but I’ve been using that matte medium for a while to make the colors cell that I want to (love it with the color shift!!)
So you’re using the two pms together? And the matte makes cells? That’s what I thought would happen here. I wonder why it didn’t work on this one.
Gina DeLuca I haven’t been using the Golden, sorry. I’ve been using floetrol, and adding the matte medium to the colors I want to cell after I saw your video about that....it was a while ago. I’ve been having good luck with that recipe.
I love it Gina
Thank you
Great job😊💜🌹 who know ..loved it 💙
Amazing 👍
💖💖💖Dankeschön 💖💖💖
Pretty cool.
Thank you 😊
I stop at Michaels and Joanne everytime I go to town and use my 40%-50% off on the expensive stuff like the gallons of medium, canvases, etc. Adds up quick!
It sure does!
I loved the color choice. The dark blue just took over. I think if you got rid of more of the darkness before you used the air pump you may have liked it more.
All us artists are mad lol. I love your scientific pragmatic way of doing this. My right brain doesn’t have to spend my creative flow on that.
Call me weird but I LOVE how it's both matte and shiny !
It all has to do with surface tension of the fluid. Gorgeous piece I am really feeling the green. When ever I want a satin finish I spray over it with a satin clear sealer.
Warning to all, I just watched a different video you did with rain x. Oh I used to much. Big fat scrape! I will more restraint next time🤪 You on the other hand rock it💕👍🏼
It really doesn’t take much!
From my angle it looks like a dr. Seuss character at first lol
Really interesting piece and the varied use of mediums. Love the color combo. Note, in your beginning written description you mention different colors than you showed in the videos I.e magenta.
Thank you! I thought I was overtired lol!
I love this and can’t wait to try the Rain-X. I’m wondering about adding it instead of silicone...do you think that might work as well? I’ll keep searching your vids to see if you’ve done that!🤗
I haven’t tried it yet
I love your Rainex cells and your effects from air brush blowing. I would be very interested in seeing you using this technique for northern lights.
Thank you. Will be trying it for sure.
Green and blue almost looks like a Lily pads. If you put the ghostly part on the bottom facing you there is an image in the bottom left there is an image on the left side of the lilypads and up in your Aurora borealis there looks to be a fairy. It ended up being beautiful. I was very surprised at the degree that the green disappeared. I was very glad to see it come back out
Thank you 😊
Have you tried adding RainX to the paint ahead of the pour, as you would silicone? If so, what result?
Anyone else tilt their phone when she does? Lol I can't help it anytime I watch a pouring video I realize I'm tilting too hahaha so weird.
You are not alone.
Courtney Bee lol...so U expect us to confess that in front of god n country...LOL..😀😅👏
Haha yep...
My mom does that with video game controllers. Especially with Tetris lmao
@@GinaDeLuca When you use rain x.....can you resin it and if you do are there any issues ?
I love the combination of those three colours - it would definitely be excellent for an aurora based picture. I would never have thought that glass water repellent would be a useful art ingredient! I love your videos and I will subscribe.
And the Lord said "tilt, and you shall see".
Amen!
I enjoyed seeing the rescue of this painting. I like the contrast of green and blue. However, parts of this video were like watching paint dry. Editing down the drying time on video would've helped.
Gina what is that little device that appears to be blowing? I need something more flexible than a straw that I am using.
It’s an airbrush.
How do you know if a paint is opaque or translucent?
Absolutely beautiful! Gina can you tell us why you don’t like the airbrush? I was planning on getting one so I would like to know if there are negatives to it.
I love my airbrush! No complaints at all!
I wonder what would happen if you tried a string pull with some thinish thread dipped in rainX
I think it would be too much. I’m using such a tiny bit and getting huge cells
I wasted money on liquitex pouring medium. Now I make my own.
Hi Gina, I love this. Can you tell me if Rain X also reacts badly to resin, as silicone does? Thank you!
does rain-x have to be cleaned off the finished canvas like silicone?
When you show the dried piece there appears to be a metallic coppery color in there! Where did that come from? I like the ethereal look, but I'm not a fan of RainX cells. Cool experiment tho! Hope you have an amazing day Gina.. ❤️
Thank you! 🙏 I think what you’re seeing is just the gloss mixing with the matte.
do you ever pour on wood panels?
Beautiful as usual Gina! You're so clever! AND you sing beautifully! FAR too much talent for one person! 🤣 I tried the rain x ( glass ) with PVA glue. No real luck. Will try with floetrol next. Be careful Gina it's quite toxic I've read 😨
Yeah. I don’t think it works with glue.
Do you have to clean off the rain x like silicone?
That is my question as well!
Did you notice the lizard like head, like he is peaking out of the dark sky!
So beautiful the colors of my kitchen what would you charge for this my husband just died last year in Aug and he did blown glass and my kitchen was on coal bolt blue would love to get this if possible 😍
Just wanted to say I'm so sorry about the loss of your husband. 💔
What happens if you drip rainex on the board and let it dry, and then pour over it?
Looks like a Hulk fist! Lol
Ok I am guessing it's in Amazon.
Is there a way to tell (before you buy/use a paint) whether it’s opaque or not? Is there a list somewhere by mfg or do you just have to buy and use before you can determine?
Thank you, I do not get cells in my painting too.
Hi Gina! That product is oily base? Like silicone? 🤔...
Love your work! Where did you get your little blower? and whats the name of it and where did you buy it, ???
It’s an airbrush. The one I’m using can be found here. Http://www.amazon.com/shop/ginadeluca
Добрый день скажите пожалуйста что вы капаете кисточкой. за ранее спасибо что получаются красивые круги?
I live on a tiny island and our local Home Depot only carries Floetrol for latex. Should I avoid this and only look for the acrylic Floetrol?
Kimberly Rush that’s the one I use
Thank you, Bonnie! I will give it a shot.
So I have a question- I tried Rain X twice yesterday, the same type as used here, and my results were just awful. It did absolutely nothing on one painting, and on another it seemed as though it was almost burning the paint? And again very little action. I had milky tendrils stretching out from the point impact, and as it dried the paint in the drop areas was all coagulated and off, again like a burn.
Have you ever experienced this? My only difference that I see is that I used DecorArt pouring medium instead of Floetrol, so I will experiment again with Floetrol. Maybe a different chemical reaction happening there, but thought I would ask your experiences! Loving your videos and learning a lot! Thank you!
Are you using the exact rain x formula in the thumbnail? They aren’t all the same.
Yes! The exact same Rain X.
@@GinaDeLuca Not sure if you were really interested but thought I would update lol, I figured out my problem. Rain X just doesn't work with DecoArt pouring medium. When I did it with a Floetrol Pour it worked just fine. In general I found DecorArt to be a huge disappointment and too thick and too quick to dry, so lesson learned.
It kind a looks like a freaky x-ray
I have to have rainx
