I think that this is the best robotic vacuum for the price. I watched a lot of videos about what is the best robotic vacuum cleaner, including figuring out the best robot vacuum for carpet because we have some carpet in the house that always gets dirty. While looking for the best robot vacuum it also had to be the best robot vacuum for tile floors because we have tile in our bathrooms.
After watching a lot of videos I came to the conclusion that this is the best robot vacuum cleaner for the money. The first thing I love is that this is the best robot vacuum with self empty base, and you don't have to buy a bag for it since it's a bagless vacuum. The Shark IQ robot from my research has some of the best suction considering its price. I have used the Shark IQ robot self empty vacuum for the past 4 months, and this is my Shark IQ robot review.
Do you use a robotic vacuum in your house? Let me know which ones you are interested in down in the comments below!

So glad I just ordered Shark over Roomba. Half the price too. Great review!
the mapping works, but selecting certain rooms it will still go around the whole house. sometimes it'll skip over areas. we tried the new vacmop model, and it wastes it's battery by doing part of one room then going across the entire apartment to another room, doing part of that then going back to another room. roomba is a much better choice.
Awesome review, great video. Straigh to the point. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Helped alot with buying decision. 👍
Glad it was helpful! Let me know how you like the one you got!
Thanks for the review!! Feeling much better about our Shark robot vacuum purchase today 😊
For being a single dad, and having pets and wood plank tile.. It's definitely worth the money! I have it set to auto everyday 9:30 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m 👍🏾
Definitely worth it if you have pets! Also great for people with long hair!
*A great vacuum for the price. The suction is awesome. Excellent for pet hair. The beater attachment works great **MyBest.Tools** on the stairs. Not too heavy and easily maneuvered.*
I just wanted to tell you that your video was very informative. Thanks for all the great tips.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, thank you for addressing long hair! Everything else becomes a moot point if the rollers won't turn due to hair wrapped around them! Some questions for you: 1. What is the model # of this vac? 2. Is the filter a HEPA filter? 3. Can you switch the indicator lights off? 4. Can you disable the tones/ sound?
You're welcome! Glad I was able to help you out with the hair issues. For your questions: 1. I don't remmeber the model, but if you watch the unboxing video I did, I show it from on the box. 2. I don't think it's a HEPA filter, but I could be wrong. Maybe check the Amazon listing. I link it in the description. 3. no, but I just put some electrical tape on them so that they don't show. 4. I don't think so. or at least, I haven't found a way to. Hope this helps.
2. He shows the filter at 7:05, it’s HEPA :)
Thank you for showing things in this review that I have not seen elsewhere
I’m curious: what did I show you that others didn’t?
Great video ! Thx for sharing.
The only complaint I had with this robot vac. Is the Navigation was ridiculous it went to all over the place which means it’s gonna work out the battery faster so I returned it.
Having the same issue and much more. Issues with navigation and mapping the room. Not to mention the app is total crap. It has issues returning to the docking station. Going over the place several time so the battery drains. For the price range I would say okay… but I would pay more for stable and reliable unit. Going back to costco tomorrow
Thanks for sharing y’all’s experience. I haven’t had issues with the mapping. It seems like some have issues and some don’t. I wonder if the size of the cleaning area makes a difference for the bot…
For those in Canada It's on sale at Costco until December 4th for $399 CAD.
That’s a good deal
I don’t watch videos with commercials…… the shark is probably the best floor vac on the market, my only issue is the lack of communication it has with the controller without WiFi
Great video you have included useful information. Not sure about emptying into the neighbors yard over the fence LOL
There’s no neighbors back there. It’s a coulee for rainwater
Hair tangle is a major factor...will likely pass on this model...thank you for a well done vid
You're welcome. It does tangle the hair, but it's surprisingly easy to get the hair out especially compared to the old roomba that i used to use. Maybe I'll do a video about how easy it is... I just cleaned it the other day, so it won't be any time soon.
I don't know any robot vacuum that is good with hair
@@FawziBreidi zero are
I love this video
Great video and honest review!
I just bought two of the robots for both our floors, but for our stairs I guess I need an additional vacuum, so I'm wondering, do you may also have a suggestion for a cordless vacuum that is available in Canada?
How has it been holding up? Do you still recommend it? Please like this comment if you respond so I can come back and see it
I'm ready to replace mine (it died).....the biggest issue I had was it getting jammed under the fridge... kitchen cabinets and the dishwasher due to the thickness of the Kobot..... and sometimes for no particular reason....on the thick leg of a living room chair...so my question is twofold.... does it get jammed in those place in your kitchen?....if not ...why?
I received two of these for Christmas selling one on marketplace Facebook for $350 new in box
I just ordered this. Got it for $279!
where did you order it from? I'm only seeing it for around $400.
Nice! That’s a great price!
Hey.. Great Review.
Thanks!
I need one that can shoveling snow here in Minnesota
That would be pretty cool!
They have robot lawn mowers so one would think the robot snow blowers can't be far behind
You need to take an English class.
This video is the best
Glad you like it!
I have 3 now!
So I’m assuming that you like them!!!
Could you go in another room and send it to the dock station....i need help with vacuuming as i work overnight and sleep during the day
I heard newer versions have NO GO ZONES OR LINES. did yours?
How does mapping work? I tried to buy a "mapping" smartvac previously and found my 2,600 sqr ft house was too much for it get "capture" in one sweep. The old vac would would get stuck easily or "lost" and 'lose' all of the mapping data. Essentially having to remap everything and re define "no-fly" zones). Long story short...it just became more work than it was worth. I could have the whole house mapped and saved on the older one...and then one day it would get stuck...die and "forget" the entire map :( Despite having previously returned to the base to "Save" the completed house map. So essentially every cleaning run ran the risk of "losing" the entire map.
Any internal filters to clean/replace in dock tower? How long before you need to clean the filter in the dust bin?
I watch your vids
Does the floor need to be free of objects like wire for the vacuum to do its job without sucking in the objects?
very helpful video. Do you know what is the difference between AI and IQ? Does IQ use lidar?
I loved this for 3 months. The vacuuming was better than Roomba. But, now it refuses charge.
That’s weird. Have you tried cleaning the contacts?
What's the app experience?
Hey! Great video. Awesome job. Do you need to replace the filter after using a few months? Is Shark - EZ Robot Vacuum RV912S with Self-Empty Base on the similar lines? Thanks!
We haven't replaced our filter yet, but we probably should. I'm not sure if that robot is a similar line. Let me know if you find out.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Mine stopped charging money down drain
Does anyone know how much suction power this has? I can't seem to find the information anywhere. I have noticed that most vacuums are anywhere between 2500Pa to 4000Pa.
Hello. Is there a no go zone?
they give you some magnetic strips that are supposed to keep the robot out of certain areas. I've honestly never used them, so I'm not sure how they perform.
Thank you for the video. Do you have issues with it running into and/or getting stuck on obstacles?
Sometimes, but not too often.
Keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Hello! I agree with the comments others made about your straight forward review. Direct and accurate.
I have a question about the "BotBoundary" and its use.
There's not much that came in the package. Whilst making the initial map, I had to follow the 'bot around and move the scant tape around to keep the vac from getting under some furniture (and getting itself trapped).
But - Do I need to keep the tape in place forever, or does the AI always "know" that these are hard boundaries and the tape can be removed?
After a few cycles through the house, I have a better idea of where the "traps" are.
My wife laughed at me as I was following it around, protecting it from traps and moving the tape from place to place.
Does it have to b connected to wifi always? Can you connect it, get it mapped and then it will still run the vacuum with the map and without wifi?
I haven't tried disconnecting it from Wifi, so I'm not sure. There is a power switch on the side of the robot so I would assume that if you flip that switch it would also turn off the wifi. I hope that helps.
How is this unit with pet hair?
I have the regular 700 series Shark, which is great, except pet hair get tangled in the front wheel and stops a lot. I need to do a thorough cleaning of my robot every few days which is a pain.
I was doing a search on this new unit and your channel popped up 👍🏽
My robot is 4 years old and looking to upgrade.
Thanks for your vid 🙂
I don't have any experiences with this one and pet hair. I have some friends who have huskys and they have a Dyson robot vac. Maybe try that one? I honestly don't know.
@@DadReviews Thanks, I bought it on sale 1 month ago. No tangled pet hair, it’s a good unit. The Shark Works for me.
@@butchc9226 awesome! I'm glad that you are liking it. My wife's hair is long, so I'm assuming that pet hair wouldn't get caught as much. Thanks for sharing with us that it is working for you with your pets!
How does it handle cat toy sized items? Does it just push it out of the way? Is it quiet while running or loud like the canister?
I think cat sized toys would be okay. Depends on what kind of toy it is. It's fairly quiet while running in my opinion. in the app you can change how much suction there is, and when you put it on max it's a little louder than the normal settings.
Is it alright to stop the vac before the cleaning cycle is finished?
can you make it just vacuum just 1 room from a multi rooms on the map from the app?
yes you can
it normal to feel very little exhaust air coming out of the vacuum while it is cleaning? It seems to be working but very little exhaust air comes out.
How do you deal with the living room? Do you just pick it up, put it there and turn it on? I have a situation like that where the family room is a step below the rest of the floor.
Yup. That’s exactly what I do
What about the battery. Do you need wifi for it to work?
Robot has trouble docking. Any suggestions?
Had the dock been moved? It says in the instructions that it should be in the same place every time. Also if the surface us uneven or carpet you need to use the mat that comes with it to give it a smooth surface to roll on
What’s the difference between all the shark models?
The more you pay, the more you get 😉
Does it go over kids play mat."?
I'm looking at purchasing this for 250$ is it worth it? Thanks 👍
Yes, definitely
Where did you find it for that price? I only see it for around $400 on amazon.
@@richardmatos9614 Walmart thank me later
Turn your cell phone mobile service off only use house wifi may help some people
Hi, it's already a year since you bought it, just wondering how is it holding up now?
We used it earlier today. Still going strong
@@DadReviews thanks for your reply.
@@sunjanjua welcome
What model is this? The first generation or second?
I'm not sure. In my unboxing video of it, I show the box. I think it says it on there. ruclips.net/video/TG2YzSR84uA/видео.html
It's a camera based system, not lidar, so it will be worse than others. Try a roborock S7, or a Roomba, as they tend to have really good camera based navigation. S9+ is great.
I would, but they are so expensive. I recently got the shark AI, and it’s definitely an improvement. I’ll have some videos coming soon on it!
@@DadReviews the Dreames are also good, but they are LiDAR.
@@SylvieTheBagel I haven't heard of Dreames. I'm assuming thats another robot vac brand?
@@DadReviews yep
1800 sq ft house. Gets stuck easily under chairs etc and runs out of battery before it hits the second half of the house. How do you program to return to the part of the house that is unfinished after re-charging? Am I missing something on the app? thanks
Yes I have a question. I have long hair and shed alot will this vacuum still be good to purchase, I want this vacuum very much??
Yes it will, you just have to clean out the rollers more often
How or where do I buy the brushes since mines are all over the plce ? Haaa I want to exchange them thanks 😊
We found some on Amazon
What is the model number, I have an English lab who sheds just standing still?
I recently purchased one and I hate it. I’m selling it. My furniture is very low and it doesn’t reach to those areas. That’s why I hate it. :-( this vacuum should be thinner.
Let me know which one you decide to go with because I find it hard to find thinner ones.
Mine only mapped the hallway and 2 bedrooms. One of them being where the robot docs. But there are many other rooms that it has cleaned and it doesn't add these rooms. It's relatively new. It's run approx 5 times but still no map. Should I cancel the current map and try it again?
I’ve never had an issue with the maps, so I can’t really help. Maybe try running it a few more times and see if it is still learning
Same problem here. Did your map ever get updated correctly?
Mine turned on by itself randomly in the middle of the night so I thought it was possessed and gave it to my sister
Cost when you purchased?
I’m not 100% sure. I think 400
are you able to map out this vaccum on your phone and tell it to vaccum certain points in the home?
You can map out specific rooms and have it clean only that room. Is that what you’re asking?
Does it use laser navigation or bump n go?
Camera navigation. The newer AI version is laser
This shark have only 1 year warranty. Other vacums have 2 years.
Hi, great video. Do you know if it needs the lights on to clean? Or can it clean at night in the dark. Also, would you consider that the hair tangling for pets would be a deal breaker?
I turn mine on every night in the dark and it works fine. I do not think that he hair tangler would be a deal breaker for pets because the only hair that gets caught in there is my wife's and daughter's long hair. I never find any short hair tangled in there.
@@DadReviews I think I saw where the inittial mapping trick, you need light. after that, dark is good.
Just bought mine and working through the mapping. How did you execute the mapping for areas with divots? I have two sections with divots. Shall I just let the vacuum run after the fun mapping go ‘round and the map will update?
I think so, but I’m not too sure what you mean by divots. I did remember having to let it run a few times before the map was 100%
Hi man
The review is quite fine, but my question is why you didn't empty that container on your property or as a normal person do, to empty it to garbage can???
What would you say if waste management would empty one truck of garbage at front of your house?
...I thing you wouldn't be much happy!!!!
Just think what you do before you do that and not just a you but all people with same attitude.
(nothing personal)
All of the stuff that was in the container is mostly just dirt and dust from the kids tracking it in from the outside. Behind our house is a coulee, which if you're not from Louisiana, that's basically a big ditch to bring water to the river and not flood the area. So I'm putting dirt back outside and the water will bring it to the river. I wouldn't do it if I had neighbors back there.
What model number is this one?
Does it works in carpets?
Yup
My wife purchased one for Christmas. It’s a big POS!!!!!
I’d recommend not wasting the money on it.
You throw your dust across the fence?
Yes. There are no neighbors back there. It’s a coulee which is like a big ditch for rainwater
will this actually be good.
Or a noisy thing that barley does anything?
We still use ours and love it. Did you try it yet?
I don't have it yet. Just something to put on the list to get. There is really a bunch of stuff
I just use this $12 swiffer. once a day. mop every week.
Just something to have on wile at that job place. Come hope nice and clean.
Maybe grab something to raise everything...
I don't want to get the 2 grand one. I don't really care much for it.
This one is rated best budget one. so I may just get this one. If the time comes.
@@Deltax5 this is exactly why I got this one. It gets the job done at a great cost
Mine won’t map my house - keeps starting over where it started- runs for about 30 min then returns to dock then does not return to where it left off, Got any suggestions?
Did you let it run an mode so that it explores the house? That’s usually what needs to be done to get a map started.
I cant figure out how to opeb dust bin just got mine, no good instructions in box
Did you figure it out? You have to pinch it in to get it to open
Loves that it’s bagless because we just dump it over the fence…nice.
The hair is a definite situation.
Once you have to replace the parts besides the shark web site where can you get the brushes, filter and the big roll on a good price?
I bought the vacuum on Amazon, so I assume that they might be on there
How high is it? I'm concerned about it being able to get under all of my furniture.
Just measured it for you: 3.5" tall.
@@DadReviews Thanks so much for the time and trouble to measure. Unfortunately, it's too high to get under all of my furniture. :-(
Mine gets under everything!
How do I change the cleaning modes, like extended clean? I have a dog and I don't think its picking up like it should be. Also, it says that both my phone and tablet is not compatible with the App. Thanks. Enjoy your videos
That’s weird that it is not compatible with the app. You change the suction modes in the app.
How do I get the App?
@@willsilk9148 download it in the App Store or Google play store. It’s called SharkClean
just got this for 299 on Amazon. we do good dad?
prrefer robots with 2 brushes like irobot. more expensive but less maintenance
I have a question, have you looked at the filters? Changing them or ordering them?
filters do get pretty dirty. I shake them out every now and again.
Mapping sucks! It hasn't cleaned my master bathroom or entire kitchen since purchased no matter how I label or map it out
Hmm.... that's weird. Do you specifically tell it to vacuum those rooms? I honestly don't even use the map that much. I just press the button to clean and it goes until it's done.
I would reset the unit and put the base station in another area and try again. No one has had that issue.
@@kimojon9665 well their customer service would say otherwise. They said to do what you suggested and said this was common.
wait another month for the water to stop spraying, like everyone else's
Ummm… this doesn’t spray anything. It only vacuums
will it work at night??
I use mine just about every night. I haven’t had any issues
Just ordered for 150, cyber deal.
Wow! That’s a great deal
Mine will not run with the brushes snaped on
I’ve never encountered that problem before. I’m not sure what’s going on there. Let us know if you get it fixed
I have cats. It needs to be empty every other cleaning cycle. With that said, its mostly cat hair in the bin so it would only need to be emptied every couple weeks if we didnt have cats
Any comments on how it works for multiple floors? I see the app with the house map but everyone seems to show a single floor home
I hadn’t finished the video when I commented. You seemed to answer it with the comment on multiple bases. That part stinks a little thank you for this!!!
Welcome. When we want to run it on another floor, we just put it in there and press start. When the bun gets full or it’s about to run out of battery, it will just stop at the spot where you started it. Then you have to bring it to the dock to empty. Other option Is to just buy 2 of them. Which we recently did. Videos coming soon of the new one.
How's it holding up today?👀
Great. Changed the filters tonight and it’s going strong
Why is it so loud
idk
why wouldn't you run it every day for a review
I didn’t find it necessary to do it that much. Just my real life experience.
@@DadReviews that's fair.
Did he dump his trash over the fence into his neighbors yard?
That's not a neighbors yard. It's a coulee. I explain it in this video: ruclips.net/video/KdMa7I1FSgM/видео.html
@@DadReviews so why not just dumo it in your own yard or trash can?
i herd that the shark ez is app is horible

I am continuously cleaning the robot - as it won’t empty because it’s clogged.
It’s unreliable!!👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
you have a braava cmon get a j7 so they can combine each other with duties
I haven’t heard of the j7. Is that a shark brand mop?
Roomba is better
