- The lions who escaped their Taronga Zoo enclosure are wild animals and this was their "one moment of freedom - they were probably born in captivity,” Commentator Liz Storer says.
Imagine calling police and say “there are lions in my backyard.” Police will say “what kind of drugs are you taking?” 😂
Dogs have been bread and domesticated into needing us to survive. Lions have not, Lions are wild animals that need a specific environment to thrive and locking them in small enclosures so people can go and point at them is cruel, there's nothing about that that makes us hypocrites.
Sadly they will go extinct if we didn’t lock them up and research them, poachers will eat wily get to them all in the wild.
The lions probably wouldn't even make it to adulthood in the wild. They get well looked after in the zoo.

"Set the dogs free" is a pretty stupid statement. Dogs genuinely enjoy being around humans, and will normally be happy to hang around the house even if there's no fence at all. They've been domesticated over thousands of years. Lions have not; they have spent the past few thousand years with half a continent to roam around in and looking after themselves. Very big difference.
Big dogs can still mess you right up if they want to 🤷🏻♂️
I agree there is a difference in that dogs are domesticated animals. Id be nice of they could be left in the wild but sad part is alot of those animals are leagues safer in the zoo’s than they are in the wild.

What a Ridiculous statement at the end there, a dog is a domesticated animal but a lion is a wild animal that belongs in the wild NOT in a Zoo with fences.
At least they are well looked after. Probably wouldn't even survive to reach adulthood in the wild.

Y’all say you don’t like zoos but don’t do anything to help these animals in the wild which is why they're in zoos to begin with. Also, animals don’t see a hole in the fence and are like, “FREEDOM!” They don’t know what the wild is, they’re just curious.

Honestly, i dont consider it that great of an achievement. I think not partaking in an enforced experimental drug should be the obvious rational thing to do. the lion whisperer, not just lions, cheetahs, black leopards, hyenas. lions do not belong in zoos, they need to be protected and do wat lions do. hunt , fight, mate , then die fighting . a cycle of life. maybe stupid of me , but a circus was in town, yeah they had lions. i jumped the fence , called the lion , patted it , then when it walked away , grabbed its tail. the lion was not impressed , but made no attempt o bite me , it just sauntered off and went back to sleep. i had a very satisfying walk home . i am no lion whisperer but , lions are so cool!

the Zoos in Australia do work to help all wildlife. groundbreaking research and rehabilitation. with the end goal of regenerating the animal populations in the wild itself.
