Hi everyone, I threw Antonio the challenge of doing this song a few weeks back. We looked at the gospel, country and choral versions and Antonio was naturally drawn to belting this out in his high head voice along the lines of Katherine Jenkins.
I challenged Antonio to find a middle ground and tell the story himself and in typical Antonio fashion when we said its time to do it he stepped up did one take (not quite perfect but good) and then that was it he was off to the next thing.
We're very proud of the way Antonio is accepting these new transitional voice challenges and I think this song is possibly on the way to somewhere very special on the other side of his voice change.

Antonio, your voice is really starting to fill out. So deep and rich. A BEAUTIFUL take!! And in one pass? Wow!! It took me several takes to get Gounod's Ave Maria down.
@@timothyscheidler6365 Thanks, the voice has strengthened in that lower register a little more since this take. Once we have the head voice album recorded we'll return to exploring more of Antonio's vocal and genre ranges
This is late but yes it is so much better sung than belted.

There is something very special about hearing that unique chest voice in a very young man. It’s so visceral and emotive. I think the sound suits this song perfectly and magnifies the devotional aspect of the lyrics.
I’m stunned by how good, Antonio’s intonation is even during a time of transition. My voice was all over the place at his age!

I've listened to some of his earlier performances on RUclips, they are excellent, especially the Laudate Dominum which is one of my favorites. But, frankly speaking, after listening to this song I can feel a potential voice unfurling its magnificence. Best Wishes.

Hi Kenneth, I recorded this last October during lockdown. My voice had not broken, I was just singing in my chest voice. I recorded my treble album in December and I still can sing high. Oh my Antonia's voice is well and truly in the change phase. Still a beautiful boy with a beautiful voice. Well done kiddo. I loved this. Sometimes you'd wish God would extend the treble phase a tad longer than He does.
Thanks David, Antonio is in the sweet spot where he can test the space where his voice is heading but his treble voice is extremely strong and focused,. As we head out of lockdown we are totally focused on trying to record his treble album

Great, Antonio! This voice register shows a warm tone and a nice vibrato! And then a moving song and, as always, a well done video. These singing choices will accompany your treble voice for a while longer. Good luck with your projects!
Thanks Alberto, we've exited lockdown now and are starting to refocus on trying to record a treble album. Interestingly Antonio has always had a nice natural vibrato but it has necessarily been subdued during his classical singing.

Congratulations on another great recording. You can definitely hear the direction your voice is heading now, so experimenting will make transition when it come easier. Now your working in the lower register's you can experiment more with tonality, reverberation, and echo effects (another challenge!). Keep singing, great news about lockdown easing too. 🔟🔟➕✔️🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🤗
Thanks Paul, you're absolutely spot on our current projects are expression in delivery and then the tonality. Antonio has always had a nice natural vibrato but that has been necessarily repressed in he treble singing. With lockdown ending it may now be a race between the voice change and treble album.

👍👌👍 Yes, looking to the future is so ‘right’ now. Certainly had a glimpse of that here. The lower pitched words heralded something rounded and rich. (If it’s ok to mention that some of the end of phrase words, could be sounded a millisecond longer. Just a thought.) I tend to use food analogies fir some, possibly Freudian reason(!), so I make that a ‘delicious’ rendition! Job well done. 🙂
Thanks Geoff, perfectly find with the observation and I agree. Antonio is used to doing one or two takes and then that's it. As we move towards recording the album we will need to look more carefully at perfecting the music at the moment its just straight record. It's an exciting period and hopefully now that lockdown has ended we can get into the studio and get the treble album recorded

Hi Charlie, Antonio is singing this in his developing chest voice so he had to lift it a semi tone to get the song to sit in a place that was comfortable to sing. If Antonio sang this in his head voice then he would lift it just under an octave, at six semi tones.
