One Christmas I was hearing lots of versions of this but didn't like any. In a supermarket parking lot I heard this and wept for the beauty of it. So transported I didn't realize it was linda.
The audio is perfection. Linda’s voice is superb and the visual design does its job beautifully. Joni Mitchell has written so many songs like this that have become classics.
What is amazing thing is her Christmas album is from 2000. The year she said she started having vocal problems due to her disease. The songs with Linda and the Tuscon choir is the best stuff on this album. Remarkable!
Might have had something to do with how Joni screwed Judee Sill out of a record deal with Asylum because she was so insanely jealous of Judee's talents, which would have completely overshadowed Joni on that label. It started a downward spiral that resulted in Judee Sill dying a horrible, painful, lonely death. Their contemporaries like Judy Collins and Joan Baez never forgot or forgiven that. History will eventually bear out the true story of all of that. It's coming soon.
@@pastxmas i doubt that anyone could ever overshadow Joni re talent, that is evident in her work, which is a matter of public record. i won't try to defend her character because i do not know her personally, though she could be a screaming bitch for all i care, i just appreciate her talent, as does Ms. Ronstadt.
