I grew up with Ed Cherry on READ ST. NEW HAVEN CT. He always had his guitar with him since 3rd grade in grammar school! One day before work around 1981 or 1982 I was watching Good Morning America and Dizzy Gillespie was on and he was introducing his band and right before my eyes was MR. ED CHERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say the least I was shocked!! I remember he played in his backyard with a guy named Clifford and they had a drummer and they were playing Knock On Wood by Eddie Ffloyd!!Man what memories !! If you ever see him ask him if he remembers Tony from Read St. WOW WOW WOW GO HEAD ED WITH YOUR BAD SELF!!!I'M SO VERY PROUD OF YOU AND SO IS READ ST. AND THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD OF NEWHALLVILLE!! THANKS FOR PUTTING US ON THE MAP!!!
