Jesus, I just realised the class 466s were tested with the lightweight inner framed bogies, it was mentioned on the Internet somewhere before , this testing I think led up to the usage of these bogies in future. Perhaps class 365s ought to have used these to be lighter overall.
It was. I've lived here all my life and was in the station today going to and from Reading. How come the station was so quiet here? I just checked and the 9th June 1994 was a Thursday (today is also Thursday), so why are there so few people around?
466 on test, they even have modern (bu today's standards) looking bogies. I wonder if they were lighter too. Whod have thought these immer framed compact bogies existed way back when
Can remember when the class 442s were under SWT traveled from to/from working many a time on one now there on Gatwick express duties and there being phased out for class 387s
Notice that the 4VEP on the end of the formation at 12:51 is 3417, now the last surviving complete 4VEP unit "Gordon Pettitt"
Darren that was brilliant! Loved the sounds of the 47's!
Nice one Darren - Great vid.
Cheers, Bob.

10:24 - Ah! Caught on your filmed! Nice one.
Some really good vintage captures here Darren. Bit different these days.
It looks to me that the 466 has non standard bogies. It must have been on a test run.
+bakerstreetmuse Yeah, I caught that as well.
What's the 465 doing there! Nice one

That was enjoyable
Whats a 466 doing all the way up there? And why does it have different bogies?
southeastern failways these were new at the time and were on test. those were prototype bogies

A bit far out for 465's/466's to be working isn't it?
I was born in 1990s!
What a great mix of stock.
This was a great era for mixture of stock and liveries, before things went more uniform and all unit based.
