People say Bolt slowed down after 2012 when they started doing stricter testing in Jamaica but after seeing this, his 2013 and 2015 WC finals times were more impressive than I thought. He always seemed to save his best for the final
Yeah and even when he had slowed down remarkably in Rio, he still won at 9.80 or so in the 100 and some "slow" time in the 200, that he hated, as in visually discomforted by the time when he saw it :) ... The guy was such a beast and tbh, even with drugs, his start for his size was impeccable and the reason he could compete so well in the 100.
you have to account for altitude adjustments also. Powell's 9.72 equates to a 9.74 with 0.0 m/s wind at sea level and Blake's 9.69 equates to a 9.70 despite a slight head wind of 0.1 as Lausanne is 600m above sea level.
+2.0 is too much of a legal wind. It’s unfair on the other sprinters who have really ran faster than Tyson but he still gets tied second fastest all time
Well if we had the limit of like 1m/s then we would almost never get opportunities to set world records because it would be hard to get the right sprinters, right temp AND less then 1m/s wind, and THEN have someone have so great of a day that they break a record. Yah it is sort of unfair, but you can't have everything fair all the time.
Khánh Nguyễn that’s true but my point was that a few other sprinters have run 9.7’s with a low wind, if they had a +2.0 they would be easily in the 9.6’s
When Powell slowed down a lot in some 9.74 race he probably could have gone mid to low 9.6 . I know bolt sometimes slowed down a bit at the end though he didn’t do this in his world records but Powell really slowed down a lot deliberately in that 9.74 race.
I have not read anything more ridiculous than such reasoning. It's even funnier than talking about Johan Blake's 18.99. The 100 meters is not without reason called the royal form of athletics. It's my favorite race to watch, the way he just separates and bounces away

So that means in a fair condition , Jamaica sprinters are the best . Also , Bolt is the goat
Powell definitely a sub 9.7 runner

Powell v Bolt in Brussels in 08 was one hell of a race, shame Powell couldn't have pushed him that hard at the Olympics a few weeks earlier
Factoring the cold and wet track I think this race was worth more than Bolt's 9.58
@@Nyasalands_Finest exactly it could’ve been a 9.4 if bolt didn’t slightly trip at the start

Those times weren’t slow but they were normal fast times. Not inhuman sub 9.7x
it was all about the head wind... imagine those two had 1.5 tail wind :)

Duballer 907 most of the world records have been with less than a +2.0 anyway. Even less than a +1.0 too lol
Excluding 9.69 and now he has 9.71 as his PB which means he is the third fastest 100m sprinter, is it fair enough ?

Nice idea!
in London 2012 it was very cold for a 100m race (17 degrees), so that penalizes you a lot; pity because he could break through the 9.58 that year

Usain bolt was still going to hold his record 0.9 tail wind isnt that much
