The shift lever I ordered (part number: 13242-0088): amzn.to/2np4Gk9 The left stay step holder/rearset (part number: 35063-0839): amzn.to/2Md1Y0l The right stay step holder/rearset (part number: 35063-0840) amzn.to/2voWs0W
I enjoyed watching because you have a good voice and your narration is cool. About locking nuts on this adjustable rod, there are two of them: one where it connects to the foot lever, and one where it connects to the engine. It is worth mentioning that the one that connects to the engine has reversed thread so to loosen it has to be turned clockwise.
Exactly how mine broke. Wasn’t sure if shifter lever came with knuckle assembly or if I had to take that apart. Will find out next week when it comes in. P.s torque wrenches are for setting torque specs to nuts. Thanks for the vid
I have a Suzuki TLR 1000 and I can’t get that the shifter rod to screw in on both sides. I can only get one end of the shifter rod to screw in I even ordered another one and I’m having the same problem. If you have any suggestions please let me know
Hey my guy I have a question can u bend ur lever back in place if u don’t have the funds at the moment my bike fell an bent it in words to we’re I won’t go down
Hi, do you know how I can remove the socket joint from the gear shift lever? (the ball thing where the rubber is). I broke my lever, but I cant find the linkage (the long rod that changes gears).
Bro, i had the exact same piece snap when i tried bending the shifter back in place. I swear we went through the exact same stages of "how the fuck do i do this" to "Ah, that worked" XD
Exact same thing happened to me tonight. Bike fell over. Tried yanking the shift level back into place and then the mount broke in the same place. Gonna be a nightmare!
Yes, the bolts holding essential parts of a motorcycle all require specific torque to prevent them from falling off. Some parts also require the use of Loctite to prevent this as well as the specific torque. That said, you should NEVER use a torque wrench to loosen bolts, you can damage the torque wrench. A torque wrench is designed to tighten a fastener down and notify you when you have reached that specific torque, exceeding that torque can damage the tool. Use the right tool for the job, especially when your life depends on it.
Torque wrench es are to torque down bolts not to loosen them. You might break or mess up your torque wrench to loosen bolts. Try a breaker bar wrench next time.
Did u have any issues with shifting? Especially down shifting? I just changed mine and I don't thing that back set nut is in the correct spot, on my bike I mean
+Qwahzi IRL Thanks for the info. (I see the product links in the description now, not sure if they were there before and I was just being stupid.) You saved a ton of money by doing it yourself. Great job!!
You're correct, I didn't have a breaker bar at the time. I replaced the torque wrench to be safe, but luckily when I compared the new one to the old one they both still worked the same

What size socket should you use to attach the shift lever?

Hey my guy I have a question can u bend ur lever back in place if u don’t have the funds at the moment my bike fell an bent it in words to we’re I won’t go down
Yep I've done that myself, at least temporarily
A wrench and a hammer. Pull and knock it leftward.
Is this the same for a ninja 400
Bike bandit has the linkage for the gear change lever and also the stay steps and brake pedal

@@thejohngalt7078 Ok cheers man :)
same thing happened to me, fuckkkk
now my question is do I really need the torque wrench? could I do that with a regular wrench?
I tried, but I didn't have enough strength/leverage to do it
+Qwahzi IRL shit I might have to put the vice sideways and step on or jump on the wrench. how many pounds was your wrench

+Qwahzi IRL Thanks for the info. (I see the product links in the description now, not sure if they were there before and I was just being stupid.)
You saved a ton of money by doing it yourself. Great job!!
We call those clips, especially on old cars with crank windows, the Jesus clip. As soon as it pops off, "oh Jesus"!
How the hell did it just snap off ? What the what the ?!!!
You really used a torque wrench to loosen it? You are only supposed to use them to accurately tighten something.
You're correct, I didn't have a breaker bar at the time. I replaced the torque wrench to be safe, but luckily when I compared the new one to the old one they both still worked the same
great video !
