- An Extremely Difficult Curry Challenge in Brick Lane London to say the least. Myself @DarrenJohn & @TheMacMaster tried to take on a blind curry challenge @City Spice in Brick Lane. With the kindness of Niaz inviting me to this traditional Indian restaurant, I brought The MacMaster & my son Luke along to soak up the experience.
By building a wall from menu's we were then handed a spoonful of 9 dishes and our challenge was to guess each dish (so much harder than it seems)

@@DarrenJohn Yes it definitely looked extremely difficult!!! I'd be terrible at that Challenge as I've been told curries in England are very different to curries here in Australia. Like for us a Madras is extremely mild, like a Butter Chicken but it must be spicy over there if Lee needed a Mango Lassi drink 🥵

Macmaster is indeed a 'little bit special'....you deserve a medal for coping with him😆 I love the way you have of beaten him in every single challenge you have both faced, it's controlled humiliation, lol. Luckily he's equipped with the skin of a Rhino and still game for a challenge. The food looked amazing.

What a brilliant idea this was. I’ve done a number of curry challenges over the years, mostly trying to complete the super hot ones, but I’ve never done one like this. Next time I go out with my mates for a ruby, I’m going to challenge them to a game🤣. You both did really well as it sounded tricky. As for the beef, I’ve never been to an Indian restaurant here in Birmingham that does beef. There are a few around the country but I’ve no idea where they are. Fantastic video mate and Niaz seems like a great guy and host. Cheers mate👍

Hey DJ! Hello Lee and Luke! Such a brilliant challenge but as you say very tricky to do! You both did well considering! Had to laugh at Lee saying his lips burning on first bite! He’s a card that’s for sure. Luke a great help in that challenge there. Enjoyed the lighthearted atmosphere when doing that! Take care 😘👍🏻

First can I say that Luke is an absolute natural in front of the camera and he has his own RUclips channel really worth taking a look at. That was O T C so enjoyed that and isn't it funny how you think you are eating something but it turns out to be completely different because you can't see it .

That was a fun video!😀 I love Indian food. It’s really hard to distinguish between curries, because you really have to clear your palette in between, to identify the spices. Love seeing you and Lee together, and having Luke there as well is an absolute bonus! I love how Luke tries the curries after spoon feeding you two! 😂😂😂! Good entertainment, thank you.😀

Interesting vlog and challenge guys. The City Spice place really must be up there with the top curry houses in London if not the country. It didn’t dawn in me that you were both stating beef occasionally but of course, a proper Indian that’s a no no, the sacred cow 🐄 until the owner said it towards the end.

Hilarious, I can’t decide which bit was the most funny. Lee having to down a pint of Mango Lasso after one bite, the look on your face when they said ‘we don’t do Beef’ (personally I think you were lead astray by Lee’s guesses first 😜) or Luke enjoying those curries whilst you and Lee were guessing 😂😂😂. This was a great vlog! That place looks excellent as always - hopefully I can get to visit it when I’m down. Important that places like this survive what’s going to be a tough time for businesses. Really hope the government pull their finger out and provide support to all these businesses - they provide so much to people and the economy.

Of course you could always pop down to Christys for some fish and chips to wash it all down. Gotta try the City Grill sometime, you made it look delicious when you were there. The Chicken Tikka Masalla was a shock. Well done Darren. I'm going to have Bratwurst (Unearthed from Waitorose, sensational) and Pfanni Bauernfhrustuck, prolly with mushrooms and tomatoes :)

Dj, you are the man. I personally cook my own curry, and can tell certain dishes apart like no other, but hence you've been given so many to try your taste fatigue will be quite prominent, its the same as smelling 20 different aftershave/fragrances in one go, you have to clear the pallet with black coffee, but all in all you did pretty well considering, top job mate.xx by the way dj I know you like creed but you really should do a fragrance vlog at the one and only floris of London, proper old school.

Well done dj, bad mistake saying beef, Lee should stick to his greasy fry ups & land & sea with skin on as per usual, considering chicken tika marsala is Lee's favourite dish it was a poor effort.
