Man, that is so sad - I feel for You. I'm sure he is OK now. Maybe take solace in how he loved Zep and that you can always listen to his whisper through their music. 👍✌
The original album version was mesmerizing with Page's pedal steel fills echoing Plant's evocative lyrics and singing...so nice to see that double-neck Ovation in action...OLD SCHOOL RULES!!
17 76 wow .. just sitting here on which would’ve been my sons 25th Birthday.. He passed away 2 years ago... He started listening to Led Zeppelin when he was 15 and that’s exactly what he used to say. 👏🏼 ☮️
I saw them in 1971, I was stationed in Hawaii. My biggest memory of that concert was their rendition of Stairway to Heaven, which hadn't even been released yet. I recently read my journal from that era, for the first time. Here's my entry from 9/17/1971 "Saw Led L. last night. I was quite disappointed, not at any lack of talent but in their selection. Played "That's the Way" and that was my only favorite". At that time they had only released their first 3 albums. Stairway came in their 4th.
I should hope so they have been around since 1968. They don’t exist as a group anymore. I was 16 when I first heard them. Unless your comment was being sarcastic. If so sorry. I love these guys and Black Sabbath. The lead singer, Robert Plant has been recording with Alison Krause, she is a Country Bluegrass singer. Her voice must be an Angel’s voice. What I’ve heard of their stuff together seems a bit off but good.
@@jamesglass5402 I was being sarcastic, Im a huge fan. There are young people today that haven't heard of them. When they do find them they are in for a treat.
Something about Robert Plant's voice back then and now is so very beautiful and he's so very handsome. Told by some who met him he's very sweet and polite and very down to earth. Love this awesome video and never heard it before. ✌️😍💕🎤🎵☮️🎶😉🙂
I saw him at a small Amphitheater with Alison Krause and his voice is still so beautiful, emotive. At the smaller venues you can get closer to the stage, so the show I saw was a real treat. He has the music in his bones and loves to share it with the audience. If you like this rendition, there’s a DVD with the entire show. It’s fabulous.
Yep saw this tour sitting 10th row dead center was in Heaven in H-Town they had the Houston Symphony playing with the what a gig that was no doubt❤️😎🎼✌️
I saw him with Alison Krause last summer. His voice is still very beautiful and evokes plenty of emotion. He has taken care of his voice. He’s also never stopped serving his muse. What a magical artist he is. And (Page, and JPJ. This drummer here was the best for them but died in his 30s due to epilepsy.)
I feel privileged to be on this plant at the same time as them. God's sent here from a higher dimension, for the purpose of bringing happiness to mankind with incredible sound vibrations.
The original studio recording of this song has some of my favourite 'folk' strings ever, right across the board, ..twelve string acoustic in open G tuning, pedal steel guitar, mandolin, and other plucked string delicacies. Beautiful! Oh and is that Porl Thompson on Banjo? Formerly of The Cure?
Would it sound like blasphemy to say that this version is better than the original? Perhaps I should say it is simply another great version of what has always been a great song.
Totally disagree. Page's change in the guitar is jarring and wildly out of place, the drums are good but don't belong in this song (IMO), and the incredible layering of magic in the original is just not here. It's a nice live recording but the studio version is far superior.
My son loved Led Zeppelin and playing guitar 🎸 5/10/95 - 7/21/2018
Dude..God bless you !!

Jeez, first comment, and a punch in the guts😢
God bless you Steve, stay strong man...🙏🏻
So sorry for your loss. He must have been very special...
All members of Led Zeppelin were masters of their own musicality. Such was the power of their music. Sadly never to be repeated.
Cold chills. Jimmy Page on the 12 string is like magic.
Still shocked that John Paul Jones the Glue of Zeppelin wasn’t included on this endeavor rather sad 😢 would have been even more epic ❤
The sound of Jimmy Page's guitar is just magical. Gorgeous song!
Amen!
Incredibly authentic music from the region....
the 12 string fits this song so well!
I love this song - it reminds me of Summer days. One of of Led Zep's best
The original album version was mesmerizing with Page's pedal steel fills echoing Plant's evocative lyrics and singing...so nice to see that double-neck Ovation in action...OLD SCHOOL RULES!!
JPJ plays the steel guitar 🎸 too he can play every instrument on the planet 🌎 I bet he could play a rubber band and make excellent music 🎵
Those pedal steel fills still echo in my mind every time I think of that song. Absolutely love LZ 3
Led Zeppelin The BEST BAND EVER FOREVER
Possibly the greatest song of all time 🍻
Head nod
No way
That's the way
You just may be right.
Still a darn good one after 50 years or so.
Never gets old!!
Never
Never.
One the most beautiful, but sad songs in Led Zep catalogue. It brings out so many emotions in me. Love it.
Sublime, hypnotic, mesmerising LED ZEPPELIN, best band EVER.
Greetings from Danmark 🤜🇩🇰🤛
I'm 15 again...this music helped create who I am. And that's cool, cuz, I like me. 😎
TY I agree 100%
Never met you, but i like you too.
17 76 👍
good for you buddy :)

Oh, just beautiful! One of my favourite Led Zeppelin songs. 🙂

Eternall thankfulness to all of them, who made our lives better !
Never heard this before, well done. These guys have a future

This was a great to see these two amazing artists back together again. Sounds Great!!!😊
Jimmy looks so natural with a 12 string double neck and the sound is incredible 🔥 🔥 🔥
Jimmy looks natural with any guitar. Acoustic master
@@tompaul2591his stage presence is unmatched! he could make a £30 pawn shop guitar sound like a gibson!

Beautifull Jimmy ❤❤❤❤
Just a superior jam! All the Best to everyone out there. God Bless
December, Scorpio in Venus and this song are the perfect combo for my extreme emotions
Insane talent! As a guitar player, I can only watch and be jealous!
"Shut up and play" tutorials!
18 strings
@Roen Valenzuela Yep, Andy is meticulous, and pays hommage to God!
I've been in that tour, at Wembley Arena
Great retention of a Led Zeppelin Song! Love the Banjo!
+David Hinson Indeed. Although, a Mandolin is the better choice here for this song. Like John Paul Jones use at Earl Court in 1975.
Most of the covers on RUclips for this song are good but, THIS IS HOW IT'S PLAYED!!
+micheal2009able you should also check 1975 Earl's court
Abhishek Gupta Earl's court kills this one
Check out Andy on Shut up and play!
Great tutorial!
Played it incorrectly for years.
Never gets old my all time fav of theirs
Jimmy page on top of his game right here.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful beautifully accomplished ❣️
La melodia del siglo, larga vida a LED ZEPPELIN !
ahhh classic Zeppelin at its best! love this song and all Zeppelin songs!
Great live version of this masterpiece from their third album.
Yep saw this tour sitting 10th row dead center was in Heaven in H-Town they had the Houston Symphony playing with the what a gig that was no doubt❤️😎🎼✌️
love the drums being added to the chorus. That said, BBC remains my favorite version. Plants voice still had that power

Fantastic! Like a madrigal from another time-what talent!
Im still at a loss that JPJ the GLUE of Led Zeppelin wasn’t included on this endeavor…… rather sad 😞
Jonsie was a great musician, classically taught, and absolute huge input into their careers.
@@billbbobby2889 is!
I miss the mandolin
Gives me goosebumps ❤
Gawd that song brings back another time.....
Totally awesome ❤❤❤❤😮😮😊😊
Always reminds me of my beautiful mother in law. I miss you heavy. May God be by your side. Love you forever 😭❤❤❤😭

I feel privileged to be on this plant at the same time as them. God's sent here from a higher dimension, for the purpose of bringing happiness to mankind with incredible sound vibrations.
❤ amen
On the 3rd album version of this song, Jonesy plays a dulcimer. Awesome!
I ❤this song so much
IMHO, one of the best songs I ever heard...a perfect song.
Truth
this is such a banger
Speechless 😶 😶😶. 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎤♥️♥️♥️
Listen 2 the Zepp 3 album version- beautifully played , sung and produced. Stunning.
Does not get any better!

Que hermosa versión,estuve en Enero del 96 cuando vinieron a Bs As en el estadio Ferro!🎸👏🙏
Always reminds me of my friends who died or are addicted
Love,. Love, Love this
Jimmy page 🥰🥰🥰
The ending is the best
Saw them with Reeves back in 93. Best show ever.
Brilliant..!!!
Hermosa cancion
Love this !
Still prefer the purity of the studio track. Those soft guitar overdubs at the end cause my eyes to well up.
Bob Doc it’s the greatest. All of side 2 on III is the best.
Agreed. Lapsteel guitar is killer blow emotionally. Used powerfully in Almost Famous film
Every time bob..
for some reason, every time, it's like the sun is coming up but it's time to leave alone ....
EXACTLY !!!
Jimmy Page o maior... ninguém igual.....Fender Stratocaster
Love it but this not close to 72. It makes me a little emotional for some reason again this is very good
Classic!!!
Their acoustic stuff has always been so sorely under-emphasized.
Not by their true followers... 😉🙏🏻
No, it hasn't.
No, only by idiots....
Uh, what? Jimmy Page is recognized as rocks acoustic master.
It's nice to see and listen to older number# 1 singer and # 1 rock guitar player voted in the world Jimmy Page and Mr. Robert Plant play together.
Love this
Everyone sitting down and LISTENING.
No arms waving, no cell phones, no whooing.
THAT'S the way it outta be! (millennials)
Rick B there weren't phones to record them with them jackass
Rick B I think it's so dumb when all the audiences today sway their arms to EVERY song
LOL..!!!
Yes. Sit down and be quiet. Have some manners and respect for other people who paid an arm and leg to hear the masters!
Rick B ~ I know, right ? Holding up their cell phones, instead Bic lighters...
Amazing!🌠🌠🌠
Definitely sounds like an ovation
😂Pun intended?👏🏻Ovations are great, either way. (;
🇨🇦✌🏻🎶♥️
A standing one at that.
Fab!🎶
you guys did a good job on this song
Can't wait to hug u in heaven 😭❤😭❤
Maravilhosos
God bless
Jimmy Page is working his magic again. The 12 string guitar sounds great. I think he's playing an Ovation.
Damn...so good
its very best song
Love the banjo.
Still magic.
Mitos para sempre.
Zep set the 'rock and roll bar' extremely high, for anyone willing to follow.
Would it sound like blasphemy to say that this version is better than the original?
Perhaps I should say it is simply another great version of what has always been a great song.
Mark Ennett I agree, the way Jimmy plays it and the banjo accompany is another level!!
it's good, but there should not be drums being played
Totally disagree. Page's change in the guitar is jarring and wildly out of place, the drums are good but don't belong in this song (IMO), and the incredible layering of magic in the original is just not here. It's a nice live recording but the studio version is far superior.
How the west was won is my favorite. To me live John Paul on mandolin or Jimmy. Any way else not the same but still good
Mark Ennett Yes you are wrong. The studio track is superior BUT this is live and 25 years later
12 string magic❤
