I grew up in India in the 90s and noone had heard of Zeppelin and I had found their remasters album. I heard it cos I liked the cover sleeve. I hadn't heard of any of their reputation or music from their times, or the blues.. I could've been from Mars. Thats how blank my slate was, and I was 16. Its their music that I have cherished the most all my life and I have gotten to hear all their peers and blues and folk from the kingdom.. Its was much later that I got to know of their mass reputation.
I couldn't help but notice the slide remarks Robert made about John Paul Jones. I could understand why he felt annoyed by these two slighting him during this tour- Jim made it seem as if it would be a Led Zepp reunion and they would play old songs together, but he never called back. It's so nerve wracking watching Plant add more salt into the already sore wounds, and Jim nervously play with his watch. Thanks for posting this.
Page was working with Coverdale - and Plant hated it. Then in the middle of Coverdale/Page-tour Plant offers collaboration to Page after 14 years. What a coincidence! Makes you wonder, was this project all about ending the Coverdale/Page-project? PS. Jimmy seems more comfy in interviews with David than with Robert around this time...
I love it cause they dont seem to care much about what the media want to hear. It is so surprising to hear it because ppl are trying so hard to be blank, canvases so that the media can project the right marketing message on them. These guys did so little press in the early days and their music was what made them. They just dont have to care and its great to see it.
I really don't like how Robert just talked about Jonesy like that and I think it's pretty selfish how Robert and Jimmy just kind of left out Jonesy in their newer projects. A band is also a band of brothers and seeing how Robert just kind of trash talks Jonesy is unbearable.
I really wish I was alive back then and when :P Im only 13 now and I would've killed to see led zeppelin play...goes to show that young people can like this music too
And it made all the relevance to me. All that led zeppelin is about and all that people talk about.. I could only got to hear the music. And I was certain they are the greatest band of all!
WHAT PART GREG I WANNA SEEI DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MAN BEAT HIS DEMONS AND IS STILL HERE WHY SOME PEOPLE JUST CAN’T LEAVE IT ALONE I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND 🤦🏾♀️
StephanieSandlin 😂😂😂HEVIS A TALENTED MAN BUT NARCISSISTIC IS VERY NOTICEABLE THE NARCISSISTIC DON’T SEE IT BUT EVERYONE ELSE DOES LIKE A KANYE KARTRASHIAN WEST 😂😂😂 BUT HIS TALENT IS NOT LIKE THESE TWO GENIUSES OF MUSIC ✊🏾
@sonnyreddevil69 I was not attempting to claim Zepp as ours. That which occurred is simply a historical fact. America first recognized their musical greatness & when the British press was critical & unappreciative, Zepp came back to America & essentially continued coming back on a regular basis. America is where the legend of Zepp was born & perpetuated
@sonnyreddevil69 From where is the concert footage within "The Song Remains The Same"? That documented footage was recorded at the zenith of their career. Albeit, a zenith that started early & went long. ha ha, darn near from beginning to end. Dammit... lets simply say that the sun remained at high noon all day long
@Chuichupachichi wrong ! that was recorded in 73/ was way earlier= they were only at the houses of the holy album / barely their zenith wasnt even close yet !
@ZoSoRecords I myself am not from Zepp's "baby boomer" generation, but rather, X. However, it is quite amazing how many times I've witnessed the proceeding generation's 18 year olds wearing Zepp T-Shirts Of course, I was first hooked at age 9
Jimmy, actually explains the reason why JPJ wasn't there in this and it makes sense. They were already working with a rhythm section and they had a momentum almost from the start.....then Robert cuts him off and says something nonsensical.
@hazel10987 I heard a one of the reasons why Page & Plant didn't ask John Paul Jones to join them for the No Quarter tour was of Plant's annoyance at John Paul Jones not knowing/forgetting the song titles of most Led Zep songs. Plant felt Jones didn't take his songwriting credits with respect like he did for Page. Jones would always ask Jimmy what song their doing. Jimmy would play the riff or mention the riff in E. I only heard it from others. I personally think it is BS.
I'm thinking he meant the content regarding the song "Royal New Orleans" where JPJ accidently took a transvestite up to his hotel room mistaking the person for a girl. But, JPJ denies this. He says that Richard Cole made the episode up for 'Hammer of the Gods' and it was a half truth. The transvesite was a friend of Cole's and he, I assume, drank with him. The other incident with the room almost burning down took place with a groupie, according to JPJ.
I don't know if they were simply in a raunchy mood or if they give the British press a difficult time because after Zepp released their first album, America immediately recognized that they were something special but the British press was quite critical & Zepp said; "screw this, lets go back & tour some more in America where they love us" Perhaps, they enjoy returning the favor to the British press? They certainly tell them to shut up often enough
@splatterduke So it wasn't "cool" to like Led Zep in the 70s? People never used to tell their friends that they liked Led Zeppelin to gain respect for their taste in music? Or wear Led Zep t-shirts/badges to show off that they're fans? Or put on a Led Zep record on when a date comes round because the band was cooler than, say, Boney M - even if they liked them both equally? Whatever. Being a fan of a band has always been about the image that comes with it as well as liking the music.
@z1inspector Better check that sundial again. In fact, throw a couple of eggs & some bacon on it, then listen to them sizzle But no sense in looking for the shadow
ROBERT IS BEING A ASS IN THIS TALENTED MAN BUT. VERY VEIN I REMEMBER THERE WAS A TIME WHEN JIMMY REMINDS HIM ITS NOT YOUR BAND ITS MINE I FOUND LED ZEPPELIN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME ITS A SHOW CALLED BREAKING THE BAND ON REELZ CHANNEL IT FEATURES LED ZEPPELINS BREAKUP ITS RIGHT THERE WHEN THEY HAD A FALLING OUT AT THE HEIGHT OF ZEPPELIN. ROBERT WANTED MORE CONTROL AND JIMMY SAID HELL NO JIMMY LOOKS PISSED HE IS DISRESPECTING JPJ. AND ROBERT SHOULD REMEMBER JPJ WAS A ACCOMPLISHED MUSICIAN WHILE ROBERT WAS LAYING TERMACK ON THE STREETS OF LONDON JIMMY LOOKS PISSED AND I DON'T BLAME HIM NOW I SEE WHY THEY BUT HEAD'S ROBERT IS A NARSICISTIC I LOVE MY ZEPPELIN HAVE FOR 34 YEARS BUT ROBERT RUBS ME THE WRONG WAY IN THIS INTERVIEW😔

Jimmyyyyyy is just...God.
so great !! forever
Cool to see Jimmy wearing a T-shirt with Antones from Austin,TX. I ain't from there, but l am a Texican of many generations.
Pair of funny fucking legends.

YEAH PAT. SO NOT COOL
plant seems to like to run at the mouth and page is more than happy to let him.
page pouring ice water. why is it so funny...? 😀
I really wish I was alive back then and when :P Im only 13 now and I would've killed to see led zeppelin play...goes to show that young people can like this music too
You have to have an ego as a singer/front man, most of them do..there is a reason for it
I know. He's always so quiet.
i watched them enter the room about 5 times and thought these guys are real rock stars
And it made all the relevance to me. All that led zeppelin is about and all that people talk about.. I could only got to hear the music. And I was certain they are the greatest band of all!
They're still beautiful men. I donn't care what anyone else says!
the best part is when they enter the room. two GODS
Saved By Grace calm down
Paige didn't like that comment about the drug references about Jimmy Page been in the bathroom a lot you can tell he was pissed
WHAT PART GREG I WANNA SEEI DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MAN BEAT HIS DEMONS AND IS STILL HERE WHY SOME PEOPLE JUST CAN’T LEAVE IT ALONE I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND 🤦🏾♀️
"A bit of a problem with my ego" - Robert, really? We didn't notice. He has mellowed a bit as he ages. He's almost unbearable here.
There were even a comple of songs were all four contributed.
He rarely gets the chance, Robert tends to hog the mike(s) ~ a frontman for sure
Unfortunetly yes.
I love Robert Plant but shit son, in this interview, he does have a problem with his ego yk
457Melly
Yes, he does. This is the worst example I've ever seen of his attitude problem. As much as I love him, he is a real prick here.
same happened at RNR hall of Fame. Plant "rambled on" sooo damned badly. embarrassing
Robert Plant has always had a problem with his ego and always will. After all he did proclaim himself to be the "Golden God". Oh, please....
Yeah i noticed the remarks by Robert aswell but still cool interview (well part one anyway :)).
It's hard to do when Plant won't shut up.
what's the bit about "just keep away from jazz"? 3:45

At this point in Page's life he was trying to quit smoking so yes he is a little grumpy.....
page has no time for bullshit.jones co wrote alot of the stuff. plant should remember that
@Chuichupachichi wrong !
that was recorded in 73/ was way earlier= they were only at the houses of the holy album / barely
their zenith wasnt even close yet !
@ZoSoRecords Please tell me where i could buy these interviews in full.
To be back in the day when you first heard those LZ beats after they played a motown hit on the radio.
@ZoSoRecords
I myself am not from Zepp's "baby boomer" generation, but rather, X. However, it is quite amazing how many times I've witnessed the proceeding generation's 18 year olds wearing Zepp T-Shirts

What are they going to do ... tell JP he can't smoke in there? LOL!
Jimmy, actually explains the reason why JPJ wasn't there in this and it makes sense. They were already working with a rhythm section and they had a momentum almost from the start.....then Robert cuts him off and says something nonsensical.
That's not true according to the unauthorized Robert Plant book. Jimmy Page pleaded with Robert to included Jonesy but Robert refused.
ha ha ha jimmy drinks water
@humanzeez4realz I got 3 of them from netflix a couple years ago, but i think it was a dvd called.. "Way down Inside"
@hazel10987 I heard a one of the reasons why Page & Plant didn't ask John Paul Jones to join them for the No Quarter tour was of Plant's annoyance at John Paul Jones not knowing/forgetting the song titles of most Led Zep songs. Jonesy with the onions 😅😅😅

HAHAHA Jones with his fucking onions and wig on song remains the same What the hell was that.
No quarter (the umplugged) album has only Robert and Jimmy playing on it. This is why John Paul is not with them
I don't know if they were simply in a raunchy mood or if they give the British press a difficult time because after Zepp released their first album, America immediately recognized that they were something special but the British press was quite critical & Zepp said; "screw this, lets go back & tour some more in America where they love us"

did he say friends and foreskins
2:38 - Jimmy is blatantly on it LOL
God plant is just EATING it up with the glare of the flash corps :16
page bumming a smoke....he seems really cranky

i think he is asking Plant where John Paul is?
Jimmy is the musical mastermind but doesn't get a word in edgewise. Very boring interview.
That's because RP is nothing but an attention hog
John Paul Jones was excluded because they wanted the album to suck...
im not dis respecting guys but is robert plant
@Chuichupachichi o2 mate o2
"Your coreography's insulting." X___________D
@Chuichupachichi this press conference was in Australia not uk.so your sad attempt at trying to claim zep as yours didnt work.
