Nazareth had so many good songs/albums in the 70´s. There was no party without them, I miss this time. My favourits are VIGILANTE MAN and CLAIM TO FAME.
Without doubt the most underrated band of the 70s
Sunshine is one of my favourite Nazareth songs. I think you’d like it.
Anything from the album Hair Of The Dog would be good, actually EVERYTHING from that album.
I had their Greatest Hits Album on- Cassette, 8 track, DVD, Album and now digital!
Dan McCafferty was such a great and unique singer, R.I.P. !
My fave song from Nazareth was Broken Down Angel - lovely song.
You're going to really like "Love Hurts" Biss. It's going to be right up your alley.
classic 70's love it
This Scottish band's singer set the template for most of the Heavy Metal singers who came afterward.
This is a cover version of Joni Mitchell's original, airy song. What Nazareth did with it is stunning. I'm not into Heavy Metal, but they made the song mysterious and dark and compelling.
Their biggest hit was another cover song, "Love Hurts", but my favourite by Nazareth is one of their own numbers: "Hair of the Dog". Back in the early 1970s, they were one of the few bands using bad language on the radio, and for us kids, it was a bit of a thrill. --- OronOfMontreal
Great song and hit!!! That`s MUSIC!!! 👍
"Miss Misery" and "Love Hurts" are the two that I remember best!
Another band I was listening to as a teenager and got to see twice!
Yes, the rhytm change is a reference to the lyrics on listening the band playing pop song "I'm drinkin' sweet champagne, got the headphones up high
Can't numb you, can't drum you out of my mind
They're singin'-"Goodbye baby,
Baby bye-bye,
Ooh! love is blind"
Part of my personal soundtrack growing up in the 70s, and I saw them live in Victoria BC in 1993. Besides the numerous suggestions for Love Hurts, you could also check out Hair Of The Dog, Razamanaz, Holy Roller, Woke Up This Morning, Turn On Your Receiver, Broken Down Angel and many others. They wrote a lot of their own songs, but they also covered and rearranged songs from a wide range of artists: Joni Mitchell (in the case of this song), Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, Woody Guthrie, Lowell George, The Everly Brothers, etc.
Love this tune right on
Nazareth rocked! Great cover of Joni Mitchell Song! ❤
Glad your reacting to Nazareth 👍🏽
One of the best rock-metal band🤘
Axl Rose’s favourite singer, you can hear why! They were excellent!
Finally Somebody caught what you just said.I told people forever that Axel's singer that influenced him was the lead singer of Nazareth.
You got good ears
Biss😍with the Lip Bite in the thumbnail tho.... another great reaction!!
Here is my humble suggestion: 'Moondance', as 'Love Hurts' will probably be the majority's suggestion.
Saw them many times back in the early 70's at Cragburn, Gourock , Scotland brilliant band!
"This Month's Messiah" is pretty good.
They have a song called "Broken Down Angel," which is ace
1975. My senior year in high school😆
I recommend checking out Hair Of The Dog or Crazy from the Heavy Metal soundtrack
I miss cassettes
This is their second best song for me epic song their best for me Love leads to madness
Ha! Everybody's already said it, so I'm just repeating it now, but personally, I just never knew much about them at all. The only reason I know they exist at all, is because of the one song that everyone knows from them, "Love Hurts", and if I'm being honest, I probably only really know it because it was used in some movies.
Specifically, "Dazed And Confused", which I think I've suggested before. It's a Richard Linklater flick from the 90s, but it's a period piece that takes place in the 70s, so a lot of good music, and I think there was a double album soundtrack from all the good tunes. It's a lighthearted comedy, sort of slice of life of teenagers in 70s Texas, and it's a real fun watch!
Richard Linklater has some other good movies you should also check out. I probably have suggested this before too, but you should check out the Before trilogy. I don't know if you've seen these kind of movies yet, but it's basically just a long ongoing conversation between two people. It was kind of thing at one point, and there's a handful of movies like that out there. In this case, it's two people walking around a European city. The first one was "Before Sunrise", where a young American guy and a French girl meet on a train, and end up getting off together to walk around Vienna. The second one, "Before Sunset", the same couple meet up again like 7 years later in Paris. Then, another 7 years later, in "Before Midnight", they're on holiday in Greece. That probably sounds weird, but I really love those movies, and I am not alone. You might dig it.
TThat middle break where the song suddenly sounds different, is a musical quote of The Beach Boys.
"Nazareth - Love Hurts" is probably my favourite song of the band
Mine is Hair of the dog
Mine is "Telegram".
Mine is We Are Animals)
Please don't Judas Me is mine.
The fact we all have a different favorite song is a testament to how good they are.
Nazareth pretty much invented the Power Ballad. They didn’t write “Love Hurts”, but “Dream On”, “Hearts Grown Cold”, “Sunshine”, and “Moonlight Eyes”, are all excellent examples! “Moonlight Eyes” was on their 1981 album The Fool Circle. It is BEAUTIFUL!

Hair of the Dog is cool too
A cover of a song written by Joni Mitchell which appeared on her album Blue. A good album by the way. This was actually the song which revealed to me that covers existed. I always thought bands wrote their own songs. I liked this as kid though. Love hurts has been recommended, and is another good cover song. I personally like the Everly Brothers version, but both versions are enjoyable. So hope you and yours have a fine weekend. Be well all.
Just love this song
search "love hurts" of this band... is amazing!!!!
In Russia, Nazareth is one of the most beloved and revered bands!! My favorite songs: Loved and Lost, Shot Me Down. Favorite albums: Rampant (1974), Loud' n' Proud (1974) and Hair Of The Dog (1975). Thank you for listening, Madalina! Love you! ))
Love this guys voice. So raw and emotive. You should check out Love hurts by them. It is definitely their most iconic song. Incredible to believe I was born a decade after this song came out.
Hair of the dog is another song by them you should listen to
Of all the 70's bands i used to listen too, Nazareth is the one I listen to the most today. If you have not heard Nazareth, I would suggest starting with Love Hurts, that is most people's favorite Nazareth song, as for myself, its probably Kentucky Fried Blues but its really hard to nail one down because it depends on my mood.
That's because that's all they know is love hurts and hair of the dog. They miss out on a lot of great tunes.
@@BullwinkleFromHell I really can't say much, Hair of the Dog was the first Nazareth album I bought and it was because of Hair of the Dog. No Name City is probably my favorite album, but Expect No Mercy is a very close 2nd.
This song was written by Joni Mitchell and her version has a very different sound. When she heard Nazareth's version, she like it so much that she "gave" them this song. When she played it in concert, she'd say something like "My next song is by Nazareth." This is also where Heart got the idea for the guitar opening for Barracuda. More Nazareth to check out: Hair of the Dog, Love Hurts, and Whiskey Drinkin' Woman. They're all from their Hair of the Dog album and each one shows a different side of the Band.
"Hair of the Dog" is a great start and "Love Hurts" is a classic ballad. If you want to start there. Nazareth is a old school band now but back in the day they were a killer band that could rock out! Now for me it's mostly nostalgic. Thanks for sharing Bisscute ❤️💛🤟🏻🤟🏻
Nazareth was a good band and know all the men are gone but I'll keep listening to them thanks for playing it biscuit
Was written by Joni Mitchell, but Nazareth definitely made their song
fun fact.
heart used this riff for barracuda.
Hair of the dog!!!
Nazareth - Love Hurts Nazareth Has a Unique sound that mimics pop yet is there own. slightly off in their style from main stream But good talent I liked them even though they missed the mark for a great band. although " Love hurts" is an Awesome Classic!
Nazareth- "Love Hurts"
"Dream On" (different than Aerosmith)
"Hair Of The Dog"
"Holiday"
Written by Joni Mitchell! Great Nazareth song, likely my fav! Saw them in Toronto in the Canadian World Music Festival at the CNE in 1979. Yes I am that old!
Hi 👋😊 Miss Bisscute, Madalina !!!
As always the like button ✅ has been Illuminated 😁👍👍😎 Still I Think that their Best Power Balled was ( Love 💓 Hurts ) 🇺🇲🌎🎹🎸🎶🎵🎙️🎧🎥 Yet Here is A New Suggestion for you one of the Most Beautiful Songs Ever by Simon & Garfunkel

Hair of the dog was biggest hit I’d say
Their ballads were top notch and their rockers kicked ass. Miss Misery, Heart's Grown Cold, What Ever you Want Babe, Please Don't Judas Me, No Mean City, Are just a few of my favs.

Hello Miss Bisscute, I’m glad you are discovering a variety of music. During this time (your Mother’s birth year), there was a huge variety of music - Rock, Disco, Pop, Country, etc…. Great time to be a teen.
Lucky me was 15 in 75 ;-)
Listen to Love Hurts or Hair of the Dog. Both awesome sons too
Very nice choice for The reaction Miss Bisscute.👏👏for future reactions you should react to Their song: Love Hurts
That's what's so brilliant! The change is because THAT is the song he is hearing on the headphones he just told you he's listening to!
Hello Bisscute. Once again I have a lot to thank you, because today's guest band, which I did not know, I confess, I am finding out with great surprise to me, that it is a really important hard rock band from the 70s, considered one of the precursor bands of heavy metal music, along with Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Blue Cheer, Scorpions or Deep Purple, among others, with great influence on musicians and bands such as Axl Rose from Guns N' Roses, James Hetfield from Metallica, Iron Maiden , Kix, Slayer and Heavy Metal Kids. I also see that the vocalist of the progressive metal band Tool, Maynard James Keenan, said the following: Nazareth has been so influential in the development of heavy metal music as to be a defining force in the genre. The group took the hard rock and pop sound of late 1960s bands like Scorpions, Blue Cheer and Vanilla Fudge to its logical conclusion, slowing down the tempo, accentuating the bass and placing special emphasis on heartbreaking, fast-paced guitar solos and howling voices filled with lyrics expressing mental anguish and fantasies. Wow I'll have to listen to a lot more of Nazareth. Thanks again Bisscute. Greetings and a hug from Mexico City.
Bisscute ,,They "Threw A Epic , 50,s Doo- Wap ,,Mini, aIn The Middle ,Of A Rock", Song, Classic!" 👋 😁
This Flight Tonight was originally a Joni Micheal song, but obviously different from this version, which is more well known
Great Reaction Biss, bring back memories and remind me how old I really am....❤❤😂😂 .. Try 'Hair of the Dog'.....be safe well healthy humble kind... Thanks for the dancing....
This is a cover (rearrangement, really) of a Joni Mitchell song. Much different than the original. Nazareth's version of this song became more popular than the original. In fact, during one of Joni's concerts she jokingly introduced this song as a Nazareth song.
Listen to " Love Hurts" by Nazareth....you will love it you darlin cute little Bisscute❤🥰
April 1959 born
The change is what he's listing to on the headphones
This is one of those songs that always comes on the radio when I'm highway driving.
One of my personal favorites of Nazareth is the song entitled, "Hair of the Dog." In that one Dan McCafferty really displays his powerful vocals in a unique hard rocking way.
Hello my dear - I love your accent, that "rolling R", just cute.
Rreally, rreally trrue...!
But your reactions are also very humorous, I love watching you! Keep up the good work!
Saw Nazareth in the late 1970's at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto and they were great !!!
Me too, in TX, 👍
Hair of the Dog and Love Hurts Put them on the Map back in the 70s. Several good songs to listen too. Holiday, Razzamatazz are a couple more. Glad someone is Listening To them.
I was born in this Year and heard thins Band 🤘👍💪 last Year in Trockau 🇩🇪👍🤘👍💪>>> This is my Favoritsong from this Band😇
Dan McCafferty was a great singer. I’m pretty sure that’s who Axl Rose modelled his raspy vocals on.
Razamanaz,,Woke up this morning,,sold my soul,,Bad Bad Boy!
I can't wait. This has been a favorite song since the Yardbirds played it at the end of the 60s. Nazareth puts the stuff on every song they cover.😎❤❤❤❤💔
Man what an awesome pick Biss. Dude could cut 4x4s all day long with just his voice.
PS. Da Shout😮OUT😮🎉😢 To Dan GLOVER Bass- Player, For DEEP PURPLE!! 🖕🙂
Great video! Please check out "Heart Like A Wheel" from Black Sabbath. This one has Glen Hughes on the vocals, one of the best from them.
My White Bicycle.
Lead Singer Dan McCafferty, inspired many lead vocalist, including Axl Rose (GnR). And if you listen closely to Dan, you can almost visualize Axl singing this song. Nazareth is one of my all time favorite Hard Rock Bands! I hope to see you react to the songs, "Whiskey Drinking Woman" & "Changin' Times". Two incredible Rock tunes! Enjoy your journey through the Hard Rock genre, I know I am still enjoying it! 🤘❤️🤘
Love your reactions , you have a beautiful personality👍✌️💜
Yes , You are right!! : "That vibe" is the seventies.. 👍 The song was written by Joni Mitchell. This version got more famous than Joni `s original. And the focalpoint is Dan McCafferty`s voice.. unike
They actually started about the same time as Led Zeppelin. All of their albums are great.
Nazareth did Everly Brothers cover Love Hurts which you should absolutely react to.
Broken down angel is exceptional by them ...holy roller ,shanghied in shanghi lots of songs , just because the usa hit was love hurts everybody beats on about it but theres more to the world than America just sayin....keep rockin

When I read Nazareth, I was hoping for "Love Hurts", such a beautiful song!
#me too
At that point in the 70s I think all UK band bassists were required to wear goofy Confederate Army hats.
