Beautiful as always you two! Keep spreading the fusion love! Song is a remix of Lion Heart by David Block aka, The Human Experience. You can download all of his stuff for free on his Bandcamp page. I highly recommend it. Very danceable, very juicy. ;) Enjoy! Hope to dance with you Aussie's someday! I hear great things.

This is amazing! Can anyone explain to me which dancestyles that was involved and how Improv differs from typical blues dance?

+nizelike Fusion is a combination of dance styles & techniques, this clip you'll see blues, wcs, tango, salsa, and others represented at least somewhat -- though not intentionally. The only relation to blues dancing exists with Kelly and my background in Blues and that it was demoed at an otherwise largely Blues workshop weekend.
The improv(isation) was just to declare that it wasn't choreographed, but was made up on the spot by the two of us.

Pretty stunning stuff! I organize fusion dances in my local area (Ventura County, CA). Do you mind if I share it on my scene's online pages as an amazing example of what fusion dancing looks like? If you do mind, no worries, but if not, thanks!

Very beautiful, sensual dancing. I do wish he'd given her a little more room to add to the dance.

fusion is for people who don't want to really learn to partner dance. i went to a mission fusion on Saturday nite and what i saw most was head-on collisions. Literally people banging into each because no one who was leading or following. It is Emperor's New Set of Clothes story.
I understand how tango dancer might be able to dance to the music they played. Where is partner dance music and there is free style music. please have respect for each one and dance accordingly.

I've had two experiences with fusion dancing: one, around the communities in LA, I learned fusion dancing and from there a whole world has opened up to me of partner connection and other social dances. I dance fusion 2-3 times a week and it's my favorite social partner dance I've ever known. The second experience was a random fusion event in an undisclosed location that I was visiting out of town, which was very similar to what you are describing- no clear leads or follows, people literally rolling on the ground, and constant collisions because no one was paying attention to where they were going. This is ecstatic dance masquerading as fusion. Just because fusion doesn't have a basic step does not mean there is no order or technique to it. Don't condemn the beautiful world that is fusion dancing because you had one bad experience.
