Norman Foster Institute officially opens in Madrid

On Monday 22 January 2024 in Madrid, the Norman Foster Foundation launched the Norman Foster Institute’s inaugural Programme on Sustainable Cities with an event that brought together leading design practitioners, policy makers, health experts and city representatives, providing insights and strategies for the current challenges facing cities, including architecture, city governance and climate change.

For developing nations...the Rethinking of the way in which 'We' evolve our cities is critical. In light of the concept of 'Institutional Priming'...that is an re-introduction a broader and deeper participation of all stakeholders...who are affected by top-down planning. Who is the city built for? Why is it important to move towards mixed-use models and shorter time frames for access to services...rather that specialised business zones and suburban sprawl?🇹🇹
