  • In his introduction to the series, Norman Foster says that archives play an important role in anticipating the future, as they hold the lessons of the past for many different disciplines. With regard to architecture, he notes that it is not only documents and drawings which should be preserved, but other types of objects that show the physicality of this profession, such as three-dimensional models, and the legacy left by other disciplines as well, in turn, shaping the practice of design and architecture.

Sir Norman Foster A true living master . Creating such an archive will be a huge gift for future generations in 50 or 80 years or more.
Although I am wondering about the choice of location how did they end up to that decision, I thought it would be in Britain .

I think this is great...but why Madrid and not Manchester or Leeds? This is UK's loss. However given what is happening in Brexit UK...I can understand the attraction of Madrid.
