I tried this in a local garage whereby you need a second mortgage to purchase the most commonplace non fuel item and was met with ' freezing cold in hospitality' and it is a kuck in the head. Especially when they fild their arms. Nigel blackwell ince added to give it extra spce if the sales assistant. Mine was a sulky woman, and there was no que for anything but id annoyed said woman by this time by calling her 'fellaress' and asking for alcohol i didnt want due to inadequate mannners. I then just left. Has anyone gone as far as having a police call out by a sour member of the petrol/other over priced rubbish station cheery souls and who exactly got into trouble for wasting police time you the would be consumer or idol arse.?
Why did I imagine this song beding sung by Ben Minnotte of the Oddity Archive? (probably because if he was over here in the UK, he'd probably have several Half Man Half Biscuit albums in his collection, along with several Memorex tapes of the John Peel Show and off air recordings of Atlantic 252, VHS tapes full of music videos from the Lifestyle Satellite Jukebox and that Amstrad hifi that had a four track reording studio... and a Dukla Prague away kit)
Talk Radio has always been un-easy listening; now I can just giggle. "A Blues CD on the Hallmark Label; that's sure to be good." Oddly, I found Lightning Hopkins (when I googled 'Hallmark blues'), and he is quite good. Just sayin'
It's not really an album is it? It's several EPs and a few odds and sods thrown together. It is excellent though, especially the first six songs, which make up the Saucy Haulage Ballads EP.
I bloody love this song, even better with Lord Peel's voice at the end
Bring back the motoring atlas!
Why can't I like this more than once?
"While you were out at the Rollright Stones, I came and set fire to your shed”
Was there ever a better lyric?
I believe not :-)
Ah the memories, John Peel and HMHB, without them I probably would not have got my A Levels.
when the dust of humanity finally settles, this will go down as folk music, and mumford & sons will not.
Good idea is to do a week's shopping at a 24 hour garage!!! Loved the Leadbelly reference " We got Crisps" etc etc!!
Best ever HMHB song was 'They've got the whole world in their house' in my humble opinion. Great guys to work with.
Paintballs coming home ;)
@@adampendergast9046 My only sad story about HMHB is the fact that they didn't drink their rider. Teetotal. I was heartbroken. But 2 cases of beer up!
this brought back so many great memories ,and to hear John Peel at the end!!
"What kind of sandwiches have you got?"
Okay boy, let me hear you spell Wilmslow
how the fuck has this only got 34 listens. travesty!!!!
hahaha what a band i love this tune . everytime we did acid early 90s we ended up at the garage aha i get this soo much
Are the 4 who don't like it 24-hour garage people?

Isn't the petrol station the song is about the one on borough road up from the library?
This'll be the 24 hour Wirral Way garage on Borough Rd, Birkenhead!!
Or the one on the A41 by Cammell Lairds.
i really like the one song that says "because you did not indicate to turn down Woodchurch Lane", me mate Dan used to live there

Very good. For the hungry forager, there's always extortionate sandwiches and expensive pasties that are shit.
