What a beautiful, yet such a heartbreaking film this one is. Paul Mescal's specialty: leave us all heartbroken.

Paul Mescal truly is in his sad boy film renaissance and I'm here for it.

Thank you for your review. I think you really "got" the film. And I think, as I believe you expressed, Haigh has created a challenging story about grief and loss that doesn't at.tempt to provide all the answers. Ultimately he allows each of us to wrestle with the feelings and thoughts it triggers and come to our own conclusions, or not. I look forward to your future reviews and have therefore become a subscriber. Cheers!

Thank you. I have seen and loved the film and love how you describe it. I am soon going again with my 49 year old daughter. Her father died when she was 14. He was so mean to her in his last years and she would love the chance to talk to him and will be quite emotional I am sure.

Not only was Andrew Scott not nominated for a BAFTA but now this film is not to be released on DVD or Blu ray - only streamed, so preventing access to many potential audiences. What is going on???

I'm going to see it this evening. I lost my mum at 3 years old, so this will be an emotional one, for sure. It looks like a beautiful film, I'm looking forward to it, just a little nervous as to how I'll react

It is an emotionally overwhelming film, but it untangles trauma and grief delicately. I hope you find a catharsis from seeing this film!

@filmcantdie9740 thanks. I thought it was excellent. There is certainly a lot to take away from it. I'm glad I went. 🙂
