This film lives in your head and won't let go ...a beautiful, disorientating and moving thing. ...surreally I watched it in Stratford and on the way home afterwards I walked past the actual Tower block from the film. ..It's a love story and a visual love letter to London at night.

Now I’ve seen it, I’ll say this.
The yearning for connection. To be seen and heard. The loneliness. Just heartbreaking. It’ll stay with me. Andrew Scott’s expressive face -especially his eyes and mouth. Barely needs to speak. And then he does and I’m floored. I want to go back and see it again. Probably will.

Scott's performance will live on in the collective imagination forever. Insanely good.

Beautiful and mysterious. Andrew Haigh is a very intelligent filmmaker and I think has had an important role in providing gay and straight audiences with authentic and compassionate stories about gay life. This is a beautiful film and incredibly sophisticated- he is a director who has only gotten more confident and in complete control with each film. Andrew Scott is wonderful. There is so much to enjoy about this film. It is sentimental but the atmosphere of otherworldliness in every shot is really superb. The use of mirrors/windows/the london skyline- one of our finest filmmakers.

I can't begin to explain how I feel about this film.
Nothing has touched me like this did in YEARS..

Thank you Peter Bradshaw, for another insightful review of an important film that is, now however, being marginalised in two significant ways. Firstly, Andrew Scott’s outstanding performance was seemingly snubbed by BAFTA’s anonymous diverse sub-committee, brought in to ensure full ethnic representation in the films chosen for member voting. Secondly, there’s Disney’s decision not to release the film on hard media - blu ray or dvd - but only as streamed content. Such actions will have a significant impact on the gay community. Both decisions are irresponsible, potentially homophobic, and will limit the audience for a masterpiece in which gay people are presented realistically and not as the stereotypes that normally exist in mainstream media. Such patronising films as BROS, for instance, are released on every media platform despite the image of gay people they present being false, reactionary, offensive and damaging to many in the community. Both Disney and BAFTA’s treatment of Andrew Haig’s film are unacceptable and should be called to account.

Excellent review/appreciation of a wonderful film. I hope that at the BAFTAs (on February 18) All Of Us Strangers receives awards in some of the six categories in which it's been nominated... and makes up a bit for the shameful failure of the Oscars even to recognize this beautiful film's existence. Thank you.

On first view I think the film was a poignant visualisation of Adam’ s post-mortem longing for love, before the final release of his soul .

This goes especially well with Marrowbone from 2017. Delicious gutpunch.

The film is a masterpiece and very soon will be considered a classic.

I will be seeing this film either tomorrow or over the weekend. So looking forward to it. Loved AH's Weekend and 45 Years. Hopeful for this one too.

Peter, if you'd consider a collab about this film let me know!
I'd love to see if our opinions would meet in the middle - or go in different directions.
Also, a collab (actually discussing this film with someone else) would help me get over it 🥴

Hello Peter, the film that I am looking forward in is Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (2024) is because I have seen the previous films both starring Jim Carrey and he is unfortunately not returning to the trilogy due to him wanting to retire from acting, only time will tell if he is 100% retired or not.

I must have watched a different film as found it slow, clichėd and dull. Far too predictable. Just a 5/10 for me.
