@@ixwrld358 That’s a common misconception with Kobe and MJ that a lot of people fall for, Kobe’s career in basketball wasn’t about copying MJ, it was about him matching up against MJ as much as possible so that he could improve and eventually surpass him and any other players in his path. So Basically Kobe only really saw MJ as a teacher (and like an older brother)

If he wins this year, I think it adds to his resume. I think he would have to do a bit more to be in top 10. However, he still has time to do so before he retires. So we will have to wait a see.

Tim Duncan - 5x champion, 3x Finals MVP, 2x MVP, 15x All-Star, ROTY and greatest PF of all time, 1 finals loss and played against more skilled players throughout his career, 15 all- defensive team awards, 15 all-nba team awards and his team was the best in the league for years.
Wilt - 2x Champion (3 less), 1x Finals MVP (2 less), 4x MVP (he wins in that), 13x All-Star (less All-Star appearances), also ROTY, not the greatest center of all time, 4 finals losses, was 7’1 and towered over everybody because NBA players were less skilled and far shorter. 13 less defensive team awards then Duncan, and only 10 all-nba team awards.
Duncan had more of an impact and Wilt is by far one of the most overrated players in Basketball. He is top 15 but not top 10. He was skilled and his 100 point game was an amazing milestone but I think that Kobe’s 81-point game was far more impressive.

Meaning that any player then could come into today’s game and average 24+ ppg Wilt was also the 2nd shortest Center in his era. If Wilt played in a era with blocks and steals he’d be a 13x blocks leader, 10+ steals leader. In just games recorded about 1/13 of his career he averaged 8.8 blocks. Then we can only guess he’d average like 4 steals a game. Wilt had less AS because of a shorter career… Wilt is definitely the greatest center oat when it comes to rebounding, scoring, shooting, athleticism and more. Also not to mentiom Wilt was a 2x only because of Bill Russell. Wilt’s team was the only one that had less then 3 HoF. Hell I think Wilt was the only HoF on his team. Wilt also had less defensive teams because he played his whole prime without them. If they were created when he was drafted he’d have 13. Bill Russell is the greatest defender oat yet he has one. Which was in 1969 the year he retired and the year they were added to the league.

My Not-So-Hot Take: If Curry wins the finals this year (and Finals MVP with it) he will be just outside of Top 10, maybe #10, but if he ends up winning another Finals (again with MVP) then I can realistically see him even with Magic. when wilt chamberlain played there was 108 and games where they recorded blocks.... he averaged 8.8 blocks per game during that time. hakeem should be 11 and wilt is def above him

Reggie Miller once said that to be an elite NBA player, you should create an impact. MJ being an elite scorer, Shaq's physicality inside the paint, and Allen Iverson changing the culture. If you look into Steph's impact, teams nowadays are shooting 3s way higher that it was previously.
