For anyone struggling to find the 9V battery: The older version has a plastic casette containing 8 AA batteries that is screwed to the top of the safe with two nuts on either side of the casette. Unscrew the nuts and the casette will drop free and you can replace the batteries.
Disappointing they neglect to provide instructions for the older model that uses the 8 AA batteries. I'll remember this when I'm shopping for gun safes in the future.
Just found out that mine has a casette with 8AA batteries attached to the top too. Took me a while. The casette is attached via 2 nuts, one one each side, that you must screw loose and the casette will fall off. Then you can take it out. The cable is attached to the casette via a conmector that looks like it would work on a 9V battery, but since I don’t know if the voltage etc would still work and I had AA batteries lying around, I replaced them with that. I guess you‘ve figured this out by now, but for others wondering the same thing…
I just had to bend that stupid tab out of the way, a little. That dumb clamp was scratching the Hell out of my new battery! I think it's in there. Hard to see without a mirror.
Hey, I do have the gv1000c version_std There is no slot for a 9v battery. It has something to put 8AA batteries but I see that they are connected with a 9v battery connection to the safe. Can I still use the 9v battery it a hold it in place with some velcro ?
Just received my Mini Vault. To put a 9vt battery in there is next to impossible. Now I'm wondering if the clip came broken. I went online and looked at the video, it shows that it just snaps easily in. Well, it doesn't.
...cont...after trying, using a mirror, etc... I had to Gorilla tape it into the clip. Just a terrible design, the rest of the Vault and it's functions are fine.👍
I have a GV2000S I lost the keys right after purchase but, wasn’t worried because of the code. After almost 7 years the freaking battery is dead now I can’t get into it. Any idea how to get into it with destroying it.
the key lock has a code and that safe can be taken to a lock smith. the code is then cross referenced and a key is made. Not much more for 2nd key. I just did it.
Mine just died after at least 10 years. I don't know where the key is . There is a weapon in the box too. In my opinion this is a poor design to have the battery on the interior of the box. Appears I'm not alone having lost or misplaced the key

8 AA batteries suggests 12V, not 9V.

I have the old one with 8 or 7 AA BATTERIES. There is no sound . But works . I have 2 of them. The first one works fine with beeps any idea?
There's a function to disable the beeps in the manual. I imagine yours has that feature on
