Testament is so underrated. Many people will kill me for saying this but Testament is the best thrash metal band from USA

Amen brother. Their entire catalog is way better than Metallica's.

Amen! Yes, the best thrash metal band from USA. For me: Testament, Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax, in this order.🤘🏻

Low is Testament’s best album in my opinion. Riffs for days. Check out the title track and the song Dog-faced Gods.

If you want to do another Testament song you'll love if you liked this one, DNR. It's the opening track on the album The Gathering they did with Dave Lombardo from Slayer on drums. It's a short but brutal track.

I love this album soooo much, the whole album is absolutely amazing, I used to practice singing to this album, especially Low and Hail Mary, they were my favorite songs to sing when I was younger… I was in a band and when I practiced, I sang Testament, Paradise Lost, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Sevendust etc., great reaction, so happy you did this song and you both loved it… ♥️

Testament really made a great heavy record 'Low' in 1994, but grunge/alternative rock was all the rage, and that album got no love... no promotion... Guitarist Eric Peterson is a riff master - up there w/ James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Scott Ian and Kerry King 🤘🤘🔥 I recommend getting a copy of the 'Low' record and headbanging to the tracks - 'Low'... 'Dog faced gods' ... "Legions (In hiding)"... The ballad "Trail of tears" is an awesome epic track.
Send some love to lead guitarist James Murphy, who played on this Testament record and 'The Gathering' album in '99... He survived a brain tumor after 2000 and seems to have settled down as a producer since then...
In 1994, Testament had parted ways w/ founding drummer Louie Clemente and lead guitarist Alex Skolnick... coming off 'The Ritual' album in 1992, which was their biggest seller, but went in a commercial direction... They wanted to bring back the heavy extreme metal, so they got former Death/Obituary lead guitarist James Murphy and former Exodus drummer John Tempesta to join Chuck Billy (vocals), Eric Peterson (guitar) & Greg Christian (bass) to record the 'Low' album... however, John Tempesta left after recording drums to join White Zombie 😂 and later Rob Zombie's band. 'Low' was a great record, but didn't sell up to expectations, and the band toured into 1995 w/ drummer John Dette... recorded the live album 'Live at the Fillmore'. John Dette joined Slayer from '96 to '98... bassist Greg Christian quit the band, and Testament got former Machine Head drummer Chris Kontos briefly... then parted ways w/ label Atlantic Records.
Rather than split up, Testament regrouped in 1997... Chuck Billy (vocals) & Eric Peterson (guitar) kept the band going in the hostile 90's decade w/ numerous musicians like Gene Hoglan and Dave Lombardo on drums, Glenn Alvalais on lead guitar, Steve DiGiorgio (bass) etc...

You did like a Testament song, Children of the Next Level. From the 90’s onward, Testament have been the best of the big thrash bands, and shed their comparison to Metallica. “Low” and “The Gathering” were a big kick in the face to the music trends of the day, and sound like they are relatively new. Their newer albums rip too, and I think you both would like them.

Great album!!! A lot of testament fans shun this album because Alex Scholick left the band. James Murphy is an amazing player and did a great job. This was the first album they had a mix where you can hear the low end.

This is my personal favorite Testament CD. It was also the very first CD 💿 I bout when I moved to Phoenix in late 1994.
Souls of Black is another great CD ad well as Practice What You Preace.
Steve Souza was the original singer for Testament before he went on the sing in Exodus.

Hi Vin, Hi Sori. I'm a Christian metalhead from Liverpool UK. Shout out to 7dust for selecting Testament ...Hail Mary...one of my favourite songs from this band .I really dig your channel and the way you decipher and talk through the lyrics of the songs. You always open my eyes... as Christians we need to see that certain people hide behind the Church. Take care, stay safe. Peace and love guys. 👍✌️🤘✝️☮️

Chuck Billy is one big dude. DragonLord, Eric Peterson’s side band, used to practice across the hall from my brother in laws’ band and got to meet him, Paul and Eric. Eric did the soundboard for them at one of their club shows.

Ok, yeah, that's metal. Not my favorite genre (nor by a wide margin my least favorite), but this is a _really_ good example of what metal is supposed to sound like. I particularly like that they were able to change up what was going on musically from time to time throughout the piece, so that it doesn't get too monotonous. That's something a lot of metal has a hard time with.

You guys haven't heard 'METEOR' By The ARCHITECTS yet.... THEN you will have heard the BEST song of this whole YEAR!!! ALEX HEFNER did a review of it the second day it was released way back in FEBRUARY!

  • @brianphillips4674
    @brianphillips4674 2 года назад

Venatori I I'm a musician and I I admit I've gotten caught on to the bug of watching some of these reviews it's kind of entertaining and kind of need to see what you when you guys it's neat to me that all this music you're listening to I've known for all of it I've given done anything yet that I haven't heard a whole life and it's kind of neat to send you guys your reaction first time like it you know it's neat seeing people start your action I get it it's cool the one I just wanted to say I can't believe that you see you done several testament there and yeah you and you you still have not tested and no one told you this you need to get the album called the ritual and that's a good song right there the ritual I think you'll appreciate it very much so I know I do and one of the guitars from the band lives in my town Lakeland Florida oh by the way as I said I've been listening to you on this episode talking about it looks like you're trying to reach out and other ideas this is just a magician's point of view and I think it's something that might be helpful for y'all an idea I have a certain day or maybe every day or third party a person that's actual guitar player someone that actually knows something about music reviewing with you that sound like a good idea I think that's a little way for your channel to grow I don't know I know I'm just telling you how do your job laugh out loud but that's always a good idea and I thought I'd share with you if you don't like it that I can I know what I can do with it right laugh out loud no but asking me teacher myself it's one I had to admit it's kind of annoying after a while not you guys but he he actuall your husband actually knows something about music you know he says it but you know for the most part if you watch him a lot of these yeah they look foolish they start trying to talk about guitar chords and stuff and they absolutely don't know what they're talking about and I respect I like you guys and I don't want you guys end up looking foolish ever so I wanted to bring that to your attention there I did what you do with it it's up to you God bless you all have a wonderful day Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Took you long enough. Still think they're a Metallica rip off? Testament have TONS of songs as creative as this that display their very own style, but for some reason your subscribers aren't giving you the better suggestions, or are you just not getting around to them? From this same album the next songs you listen to should be "Low" and "Dog Faced Gods"
