A “friend” of mine literally told me that I was being disinvited from the party because of my eating habits and that when I bring my own food it makes her uncomfortable. Some people really do feel strongly about this and I’ll never understand it.
I have listened to multiple dozens of RUclips videos from Dr Goldner and many from Chef AJ up till the final episode ever since I found my way back to whole foods plant based a few months ago. This is hands down the best and most inspiring video I have ever seen, particularly the last 50 minutes. It just kept getting better and better! I love these two together and hope that Chef AJ will continue interviewing Dr Goldner even though her regular daily talks have ended.
At 40 minutes… that message is HUGE. I’ve been releasing people pleasing over the last year and showing up more authentically. It is about self esteem, worthiness and love. We can better attract the people in our lives meant to love us for who we are, in the way we want/need when we stop trying to be what we think we’re supposed to be, instead of being true to ourselves.
OMGoodness this message is exactly what I need. Am hosting all my adult children this summer (rare occasion, they live far away), & have been stressing what to cook for 4 days. Am WFPB. Not stressing anymore. Just putting out variety & letting them assemble own bowls every day. Every meal. Veg, starches, fruit.
You can do it! 🥰Rice bowls with people putting on their own toppings, potato bar, burrito bar. It's very doable! When we have a large family, gathering weekend, my husband will do the SAD breakfast one day, I make Chef AJ's waffles another day, and I always have an oatmeal bar for myself and others who would like to enjoy it. ❤️
I’ve listened to this three times so far. Love it. So much info. ??? I find that people don’t want to invite because they eat different and most don’t even care to ask to make anything for you. If I had a nut allergy or disease they would probably bend over backwards to accommodate. But because it’s a choice I’m making, it’s not worthy of making an effort. Even when I bring my own food, dish to share, they say they are eating it just to be nice. They will say it’s too bland for them to eat that way. I find I’m trying to make sweeter dressings for them to like it. I’m tired of trying to please or explain why things are blander with their tastebuds hijacked by the high rich foods. I really feel their problem is they feel uncomfortable for they feel I’m judging them even by just being in the room with me. It’s hard and has affected family gatherings because everyone is about eating these high addictive foods. It’s like they are on crack, don’t poke the bear please. 😳
Dr Goldner is gold. Actionable items and ideas to address family, friends and an entire culture that is floating toward disaster when you’re working your ass off to paddle upstream.
Great show! Purple is one of my favorite colors. I have been vegan for 9 years and my spouse is not. He saya he doesn't understand why I choose to eat this way but will support my choice. I am lucky. He cooks for himself any meat products or non vegan foods he eats. When it comes to shopping we either shop together or by our self. He doesn't expect me to shop for his non vegan items.
Same for me… more than 9 years into the vegan lifestyle. However my husband doesn’t want to be vegan. But he will cook his own products and doesn’t try to intentionally sabotage me. He accommodates my lifestyle when we look for a place to eat out.
I think this is probably the best video I have ever listened to on your channel (maybe even on all of RUclips!) - pure gold and life changing! Thank you so much!
. . . Chef AJ, you totally, totally read my mind with your awe of Dr Goldner's life solutions strategies.....she is amazingly unique & ultra-special....and, you, Chef AJ are, also, for recognizing & loving her as much as I do....God Bless You Both So Much.... 🥰
I’ve been whole food, plant based with junk in the house for 12 years. I do not consider junk to be food. My spouse takes 7 prescriptions daily and I take none.
This is fantastic! What a gift! Listen over and over again. Excellent pep talk. Informative! encouraging! A walk through reality 101. Excellent. So grateful for Dr Goldner! Praise God for this wonderful woman who longs to give back!
My family is supportive of me but we still have snacks in the house that I don't eat. I have pretty good will power and I've noticed that my taste buds changed enough that if I do take a bite (which I do once a week to see how it tastes) I notice now it tastes too sweet or fatty to be appealing. The one thing I can't resist is chips so we keep those out of the home. Personally the thing that motivates me is knowing that my actions are influencing my kids. They see me say I am going to do something and now I'm following through and staying true to my word. I know this will impact them long term as kids learn from what they see their parents do. I am setting the example that they can make a huge life change and stick with it. It's empowering!
Listening to this again and had just grabbed the leftover Christmas cookies out of the fridge. I had a couple and threw the rest away. I don’t need them and my friend will never know the difference. Thank you for that little bit of power I just took back. Baby steps ❤️❤️❤️
Cutting loose and eating badly (pizza, burger, fries, soda, etc) makes me feel young mentally (flashes back to a young me who ate that way) and it makes me feel old and sick physically. Eating on plan (WFPB) makes me feel old mentally, but makes me feel young physically. It's a battle that goes on between mental/physical.
Maybe you could do some activities that make you feel young. Being healthier, you can do a lot more than other people who eat garbage. They'll look at you and feel old that they can't do it!
Awesome interview. Thank you both. Chef AJ I agree that Dr G's advice on how to handle these situations and what to say would be so helpful in a book or written format. I learn so much from Dr G over and above the nutritional advice. She is a gem. ❤
I am always struck by how encouraging you are, Chef AJ. “You should write a book!” , you said at least twice…you really are a blessing to many🥹❤️, including me. xxoo
I believe that everyone should listen to this for encouragement in the area they are struggling in. Especially parents with children who let them eat poorly because they will have a fit. Thank you .
Really good show. She is such a unique resource for us. I used to teach Assertiveness Training for Women back in the 80’s and 90’s. Those skills for setting boundaries and saying no have served me well. I need to incorporate them in my coaching more.
AJ. You look so Gorgeous! Purple is definitely your color. And perfect makeup also today, or maybe it’s just your WFPB Vegan SOS free skin shining through! And Dr Goldner, one of your best talks even! Love you both! Always learn a lot from both of you. Thank you so much!!
I absolutely loved this episode. Dr Goldner is wonderful. Very uplifting, motivating, & inspiring. I saved this to my motivational videos when I need a pep talk. I have her autoimmune disease book in my TBR pile. Now I’m definitely going to read it soon.
Yayayayayayay it’s Dr. Golder!! I got the recipe book, just arrived a few days ago and it’s amazing!! Can’t wait to try all the recipes. So glad I got the hard cover version, I recommend it even though it takes longer to arrive. Thank you Chef AJ and Dr Goldner
Wow, wow, wow!! I've listened to so many videos with Dr Goldner, but this is my favourite ever. Her parting words brought tears to my eyes and I feel totally called to do her rapid recovery programme. Thank you so much chef AJ for such a wonderful interview with such an incredibly positive, kind and giving person. This earth is a better place with Dr G in it ❤
This video came at the right time for me because I just had a conversation with my husband about our food differences and even though he was great about it I still beat myself up for telling him I need to eat different then him.
Thank you you both! It was such a wonderful episode, full of energy and positivity ! It is so true it is important to remember that we don’t have to waste time in places that are uncomfortable and dark, as life will always throw things to us, so I really like this idea of using the space where we have power and making the best of it ! Lots of love to both of you from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ❤
This was a very good show and to think that I almost didn’t watch it. That was self sabotage right there! Dr Goldner has so much empowering information jam packed into that 1.25 hours that I’ll have to rewatch this as well. Thank you AJ for doing this show
Great show!! Thank you!! 💜🙏🥬 Now, if only the medical industry would respect and respond to helping patients get the Best care they deserve by giving including transparency, plant based education and encouragement, stopping unnecessary and dangerous, invasive procedures, take accountability for errors and harm to patients, and more. If only “big medicine” industry would adopt your terrific, respectful tenants. Thank you Dr. Goldner and Chef AJ! 💜🙏
I'm on a weight loss journey. 84 pounds to go. I have 2 plant based protein bars, and 1 meal replacement shake. It's slow, about 1 pound a week. But it's working! And i can stick to this!
I began WFPB in 2009. My husband didn't join me until 2015 or 16. As he did our entire marriage, he ate everything I cooked with a smile and thank you. If we went somewhere, he ate as he pleased. He was supportive and still complimented my cooking. The first year or two, my husband and sons had lots of SAD food in the house and I cooked their food for them. Eventually, I declared my house an only WFPB zone. Now that I use Dr. Goldner's GBAI protocol to a T, he joins me in that, too. We moved to GBAI because I developed some autoimmune issues on WFPB. I feel better than I have in my entire life. My dad died this morning from the complications of sarcoidosis; he wouldn't see or listen to my results. It was the most inspiring Chef AJ or Dr. G interview ever.
Love you both so much!! 🩷🩷🩷 YES PLEASE TO A BOOK for emotional answers 😆😍 that would be amazing! A life guide 😜👏 thank you both for all you do, this was brilliant ⭐️🫶
Like oprah exercise haha, oprah has a trainer, why she doesn't look pretty and slim like Dr G. Oprah needs to take thomas tedlock as her trainer, he is going to reduce all of her inflammation

Dr. Goldner is literally gold! Such a blessing to be able to hear her share so much wisdom!!
Some tricky spouses say they will support but actions show sabotage.
Yes, she should write a book! It would be so helpful to so many people!

You did it Dr. G you broke me down to tears that poor little girl. 😭😢 I am gonna love her to life. I'm convinced you are my favorite super hero!!!

Thanks for sharing!!
That sounds like a good way to compromise!
He has to have a reason to change! lose weight , reverse disease, save the environment/animals, save money on food bills.
Same for me… more than 9 years into the vegan lifestyle. However my husband doesn’t want to be vegan. But he will cook his own products and doesn’t try to intentionally sabotage me. He accommodates my lifestyle when we look for a place to eat out.
Thank you Chef AJ and Dr Goldner. This was such an important conversation. It should be required listening for any plant based eater!
Our pleasure!
Yes this is definitely be a part of a plant-based eating program
I’m so used to giving in because I don’t want to rock the boat or make it inconvenient. Thank you for this interview, it gives me strength. ❤️
I think this is probably the best video I have ever listened to on your channel (maybe even on all of RUclips!) - pure gold and life changing! Thank you so much!
Yes! Please write the book Dr. Goldner!
This is making so much sense. Wow. I've been enabling my family. Thanks, ladies.
THIS IS AN AMAAAAZING CONVERSATION. EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH THIS. ❤
Thank you for having Dr. Goldner. She was so informative. WOW!
❤ great show! Thank you Chef AJ and Dr. Goldner! I did the 6 week Rapid Recovery and it helped me with eliminating my Polymyalgia Rheumatoid pain.
I love the grandparent logic and wording.
This was a terrific show! Thank you both for always showing up and being the inspiration we all need.❤️

Wow I have tears in my eyes after listening to this. I saved it so I can listen again!! You are both such inspiring people ☺️
Wow, thank you!
All of these interviews are helping me tremendously. Ok so glad Chef AJ does these.
Great question AJ! Why do we endure it? Why do I sacrifice me to make someone else less inconvenienced.
Thank you!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤ Best advice! Asking for support and asking people to stand up for you.
You are so welcome
Listening to this again and had just grabbed the leftover Christmas cookies out of the fridge. I had a couple and threw the rest away.
I don’t need them and my friend will never know the difference.

Well Dr Brooke has a beautiful relationship with her husband and son. Not everyone does. (First question at around 6:00) 🥇
You can see my environment in my waistline. We had a terrible environment over the holidays. Terrible. Ugh
