So the whiiiiiiine I heard in the beginning of the demo came from the power supply battery that I used, as soon as I took it away and plugged it in to a regular 9V wall adapter it was gone. POOF!
The whine is in the entire video but it’s higher pitched later on so most people probably can’t hear it but for those of us that can it’s like an annoying dog whistle haha
I love my Angry Swede. I highly recommend using it as a boost. Turn the dist all the way down, level all the way up or close to it, lows at noon, and highs to taste. Gives you a nice juicy tone. Also, it sounds best BEFORE a TubeScreamer-type pedal if you want to use two boosts at once.
The problem is that without the Chug pedal you are missing a preamp, so the clean sound is the DI with the IR, you should engage a clean preamp inside the Mooer P2
I just built my 1st pedalboard, which is a poor man version of this. Used Boss GT1 $150 Used Boss OD200 $200 New Nux Atlantic $150 New Nux Loop Core Stereo $120 New Monoprice Tuner $25 Cables, PSU, Board, Bag $150 Super happy with the results. GT1 has usb connectivity, so it can be used as a PC interface also.
"Ola plugging his own shit" well this IS Ola's channel, if people don't like you plugging your own brands they can go somewhere else. You've busted your ass to make your businesses a success and have earned the right to plug your own shit on your own channel...the haters can suck it. Keep on doing what ya do brother!
There’s cheaper way for impulse response, there’s the “Sonicake Sonic IR” which has also XLR out (using as DI) and 11 factory IR (you can upload to it your IR instead). Other option is to use “Cube Baby” which is a pocket multieffect with IR, in this case you can actually do some presets of different IR’s (it has 3 pedals for store different settings). The both costs about 50€.
After 7 months or so, how are you liking that pedal? I’ve been plugging my pedalboard straight into the neural dsp Morgan sw50r plug-in. And using distortion pedals as “different amps”. I’m really loving the results. Trying to trade an amp for a real Morgan. My pedals are a Friedman be od deluxe, empress heavy, and the MXR 5150 pedal. All sound great. Looking to add some more.
@wheresallthezombies It still sounds great. I run both the SLO and the TS-9 through the effects loop of a Boss NS-2 to cut the noise down. I'm running a somewhat similar set up. I have a Boss Katana with a "Dumble Clean" setting and run the distortion pedals into the front of the amp as "different amps" as you said. The SLO does great with classic metal. I'm thinking about getting the Friedman BE-OD or a Revv G3 and running them in the same set up.
You should actually try the HoTone Ampero Mini. It's very small and super capable. I use it on my pedal board strictly for amp, cab and room reverb. It's about 200€ and does the job superb. It's a life hack for guitarists. If not it must be the smallest, most capable backup gear you can own. The Ampero II Stomp sound even better but that is 500€ purchase. Also, is the CHUG usable from everything from hard rock to metal? I kinda hear that it would be plausible due to the character of it! What you say Ola? Great Vid as always!
Last year I got to meet Bill Kelliher from Mastodon for some pre show lessons and the guy showed us his rig...it was basically just a Line6 HX Stomp and a power amp. I was completely floored during the show listening how massive it sounded, so I'm back into the pedal world just because of that.
What city were you in? A couple months ago I saw a video of him talking about his South America rig. It was the HX stomp, Friedman be od (not the deluxe) for his dirty sounds, and a victory pedal for his clean sounds. That was running into a fryette power amp. I wonder if you saw him before he incorporated the pedals. I’ve also seen him using the synergy 2 module rack into a fryette power amp, while using the helix rack for effects and what not.
Thanks for this man, this is exactly the info I was looking for right now. I've been using a movall reverb/trem and a Diezel vh-4 pedal which gets me most of the aay there but also has no subtlety whatsoever... Might have to save up for a chug and a dark sun!
Fck! I was thinking of this pedal setup (Dark Sun + Solar Chug) last year and then I just recently saw this video...Very nice Ola! You're a blessing to us metal guitarists! Btw, I bought Solar S2.6W + Chug pedal last year. You also noticed me in your live stream. Thank you so much!
I love yoyr Bolt Thrower shirt. I made a playlist of all their albums and would have it running in the background for all my Organic Chem, calculus, A&P, Bioinformatics, and Cellular Biology homework
I got an EH Metal Muff WITH TOP BOOST and run it through a fat Orange amp and cab (I never use the top boost). From early Slayer to crunchy Nasum (Shift) this combo can do almost everything.
A pedalboard is a cool thing, if you know that there will be a good amplifier that you can play with, for me it’s better to use a kemper powerhead and feel good on any stage, because your sound is always with you
Hey Ola, will Solar ever have an offset guitar? I'd love to see something vaguely Jaguar or Mustang shaped from you guys, even if it's not a 24" scale.
Using the Mooer as an IR is a great idea! I recently switched from a boss gt1000 core to a tonex and was wondering how to route into my power amp and into a mixer for my drummers in ear. I have a Mooer Prime P1 just laying around so I’m going to give that a try. I can’t load my own IRs on the P1 but it will get the job done. Thanks for the idea!
How is the ToneX versus the Boss GT1000 Core. I've been really enjoying mine after finding good IRs. Also have you tried using the GT1000 as a multi-effects pedal into the ToneX by turning off the amp and cabs? I thought of getting a ToneX pedal and using it on the effects loop or just straight into the Boss. Just curious if those might work well
@@CoolGuyAtlas I only used the gt1000 4 cable method with a preamp. Never really fell in love with any of the boss amp sims. I did try and use the boss with the tonex but decided to simplify my rig as much as possible. The best things about the gt1000 are the routing options, the assignment matrix and the on/off functionality of the foot switches. It was also the most difficult piece of equipment to figure out that I have owned. I have owned the hx stomp, quad cortex and gt1000 core and, in my opinion, the boss overall was the best value. It comes with a steep learning curve though. As for the Tonex, I am still trying to dial it in. I’m definitely enjoying trying all of the amp captures available. I haven’t had enough time with it in a full band setting to really decide if it’s going to work for me. If it doesn’t then it’s off to Fractal I go!
Honestly, if Dime was alive, I think he’d love a Chug pedal and a Seymour Duncan Power Stage. It’s so much cleaner than his old rig and has a similar SS grind to it.
Hello Ola! Interesting tone! Could i ask you something? How to make same tone without harshy hi end? Cose when i make treble down i get dark and "empty", non agressive tone...😅
So the whiiiiiiine I heard in the beginning of the demo came from the power supply battery that I used, as soon as I took it away and plugged it in to a regular 9V wall adapter it was gone. POOF!
Yeah yeah, we know it's the new Tinnitus pedal engaged off screen
ola the tech guy ;D
The whine is in the entire video but it’s higher pitched later on so most people probably can’t hear it but for those of us that can it’s like an annoying dog whistle haha
still there until the end.. listen it, or its leave still just in my head? oh my god
DIME and I are very proud of you Ola..😊
Sweet setup

Love that the angry swede has a blend knob, been on my board since the day I got it. Great pedal rig Ola 🤘
As a dinosaur that have not gone digital I love seeing videos about old analog pedals !!!!
The problem is that without the Chug pedal you are missing a preamp, so the clean sound is the DI with the IR, you should engage a clean preamp inside the Mooer P2
clean??????? not in my metal
@joshuaportman3289 hahahah 😂😜😂

that is one of the best looking solars! awesome pedalboard as well!
Man... 2018 was already 6 years ago! How fast time flies!

I had the cube baby, I also used it for some recordings with bandlab haha
Sonicake has unacceptable latency and loads only short IR files. Piece of s***.
I just got that Soldano SLO pedal, I boost it with a TS-9...I didn't know guitar pedals could sound that good.

Scored a Dark Sun on clearance from my local music shoppe, and it now has a permanent home on my pedalboard.
Without the prime p2 it makes the chug sound like a metal zone😂
The Dark Sun is no joke, fantastic streamlined delay/reverb pedal.

Really digging that Chug pedal. Great pedalboard choices!
Very cool, I just made a similar little bourd, but using the new boss ir-2.
Man, this guitar is probably the most unique combo of colours I've seen on an instrument.
Never seen a Tom Anderson guitar before, huh?
@@EclipseAtDusk nope
@@EclipseAtDuskStupid comment, not everyone likes about same things or has seen same things.

Stereo options are great and the sounds are great
Love it all, but I still prefer amps to IRs.
The Chug pedal sounds like a much tighter Metal Zone. More clarity. It could be a new classic.
ola your playing, your dynamics in paricular just keep getting better! amazing tone coming from the irs in combo with that chug. 🤌

Guitar looks unbelievable. Suprised with how good the chug pedal sounds. But can't sign off on the angry swede on max though, pure filth haha
I love yoyr Bolt Thrower shirt. I made a playlist of all their albums and would have it running in the background for all my Organic Chem, calculus, A&P, Bioinformatics, and Cellular Biology homework
Dude! That's basically my rig! Chug pedal into the Seymour Duncan Dark Sun. The Dark Sun is so under rated...and the Chug is so good ;)
sounds awesome love the chug pedal - little board but big sound
I got an EH Metal Muff WITH TOP BOOST and run it through a fat Orange amp and cab (I never use the top boost). From early Slayer to crunchy Nasum (Shift) this combo can do almost everything.
Sounds amazing!
I was hoping you’d run it in the front of a clean amp. Sounds cool though! I forgot about that Seymour Duncan pedal. So good.
January is going to be a great month for you! I love the chug pedal!
I would replace Mooer with OX stomp (which is different league) and add a preamp for clean tones. P2 is good as a backup and training tool.
Want your chug pedal so cool 😎
What a nice angry swede pedal! I will order it. It has to be on my pedal board. 😊
Chug pedal is monster🤘🤘One day I will have your solar guitar in my country hard to find😪
Nice video. I would switch the Mooer MultiFX with the Mooer RADAR, so you got space for the Angry Swede.
That pedal board needs an empress heavy menace.
I swear, you could make an AM radio sound sick.
Check out the JPTR FX Death Saw. A HM-2 style pedal without knobs but the one and only settings.
Is it possible to use sustainiac with evertune guitar?
Cool tshirt man!
That dark sun pedal is badass. Im looking into getting one now lol
Pantera Funkos in the back. Those are cool.
just subbed your channel. love all the info about all this shit. fantastic stuff man🤘🏼🤘🏼
Ola can make anything sound good
Bolt thrower tee shirt is soooo coldddd 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
That distortion reminds me of Cattle Decapitation tone.
i'm a noob, what does the Impulse response do?
@@YanYeiDei basically it's a filter, it cuts the treble eq and stabilize the eq.
nice ambience tone
$1,199.44 is a little chubk of money for some people. (American dollar conversion without the $6K Ola charge😂)
Thanx for testing in standard tuning . This demonstrates all the subtlety of the pedalboard !
A pedalboard is a cool thing, if you know that there will be a good amplifier that you can play with, for me it’s better to use a kemper powerhead and feel good on any stage, because your sound is always with you
It sounds GREAT
In Ola we trust…
Keep up the good work man chug life 4 ever!!!
Thanks for the content you should try the new Boss ir-2 pedal
Hey Ola, will Solar ever have an offset guitar? I'd love to see something vaguely Jaguar or Mustang shaped from you guys, even if it's not a 24" scale.
Oh man I'm definitely getting a P2,

oh yeah, that chainsaw sounded so much different on low and high freq gain, almost unrecognizable
beautiful Guitar!!!!!
Damn ... I just need the Chug pdlsky. Awesome brutalness. 😂🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Honestly, if Dime was alive, I think he’d love a Chug pedal and a Seymour Duncan Power Stage. It’s so much cleaner than his old rig and has a similar SS grind to it.
Ola, do you use a power conditioner or a DC power supply for your pedals/amps? What about a UPS for your computer equipment?
When ola kicked on the angry swede anyone else notice the Jesu Dod riff?
Try a Dean Dime ML on that setup man....Dang
What is the role of the impulse response in this chain? How to get an IR?
Sounds great
To this day i think the dark sun is the best pedal purchase I ever made.
Couldn't you make the push pull some type of switch instead of push/pull?
Love that Solar guitar !!!!! Wich model is it ?
I totally went back multiple times until I could screenshot that price list 😂
3:53 this sounds exactly like trivium’s song he who spawned the furies
still really debating on getting that prime p2 as a new live rig. can't make up my mind between the P2 and the Ampero 2 stomp
I say go with the empero stomp 2. It has more amps, cabs, and it has an effects loop
did you try the Revv Northern Mauler in place of the Chug/Angry Swede?
No metal zone!? 😱
3:55 prolly the beefiest tone hes ever had minus the angry swede that thing azz
That’s a nice guitar
Metalboard! Let's goooooooooooooo
Ola, I want that guitar, are you still selling that model?
I would like to hear this with the boss ir2
Good day, Ola.

Impulse response is key
What model guitar is that? I love the finish but hate the gold hardware. Does come with chrome or black hardware?
Did you did a Review in the mooer ocean machine? Dark sun and ocean machine comparation. Greetings from Brasil.
The reason you're using a chug pedal is because it's the best pre-amp pedal on earth.
Some Entombed please???!!!!
I've been trying to get a new Dark Sun for like 6 months now ;(
Hi Ola. I'd like to know what IR are you using with the chug pedal.
I get that same tone and sound just with my line 6 pod hd 500 \,,/
GD that Dark Sun
I prefer Helix Stomp, Snapshots is pure gold.
can we get a ola's talent pedal?
If a power amp, like a powerstage 170 was used would it sound like @ 4:37 without the impulse? response?
