White Palace Challenge - Hitless/Sharp Shadow/No Skips

- A challenge by TrevorPgamer to complete the White Palace using a combination of Sharp Shadow, Dashmaster, and Sprintmaster to throw off the platforming with a longer dash and faster movement speed. Since it needed to be kicked up a notch, I also opted to do it without damage and avoiding skips for more opportunities to mess up. It's also a bit slower than expected even without skips as my platforming skills aren't the greatest, but I manage to get through it.
There were some impressive fails getting hit once along the way, which caused this to take a bit longer that expected (which is why this wasn't posted yesterday). The last two days were a bit of a slump getting stuff done, so my apologies on the lack of videos.

After this fucking place the path to Sheo is like the beginning of the game in terms of difficulty...
If I were to do this I think Sharp Shadow would throw me off the most because of the further dash. Also don't feel pressured about your lack of videos because your channel is mainly focused on challenges and I'm pretty sure that everyone can sympathize with you, since most of your the challenges that you choose to do are fairly difficult and would (most of the time) take up a lot of time with all the attempts.

It makes your dash go further than normal. Which might throw off a lot of people who are used to the default dash length.
i had sharp shadow on for the whole of kings palace, unaware that that was causing the slightly further shade dashes. thankfully i had figured that out by the time i tried PoP

Personally I found white palace a lot easier with sharp shadow but it's always impressive to see someone do it hitless
I dont see the problem with Sharp Shadow. I always use it. For boss battles. For platforming. For mowing the lawn. For everything, just sharp shadow.
Now do path of pain.

In my first Path Of Pain, i don't change my build and i needed to do with Sharp Shadow and Dashmaster. Help in some parts, but 90% is harder than normal. ;-;

Thanks! I'm pretty well myself, but after my trip and with challenges becoming more difficult it's simply occasionally I'll miss a day or two. In the end it's more what I'd like to upload for a consistent schedule, but life happens. Generally I should be able to minimize it though.

@@CrankyTemplar I mean this is still insanely impressive. Sure, speedruns finish it in 5 minutes but they don’t have to use Sharp Shadow and you didn’t use skips.

The first time I did white palace it was with sharp shadow, since I thought it gave me an advantage in certain situations, and because it was a charm I used pretty much everywhere else in the game. How I managed to complete it in hindsight, I have no idea

Can't stop watching this, feels so satisfying. And I learned something too - it never occurred to me I could spam crystal heart key to adjust the height; had to guess the right position every time while sliding down and often mess up, especially because once charged, it can't be canceled.
Btw I prefer the path of pain over the rest of the white palace, because while more spacious, white palace can be disorienting and confusing, it's not always clear where to go. Path of pain might be more claustrophobic, but I know exactly what is expected of me and how to do it. I still do it from time to time on my other save. Haven't managed to do it hitless yet, but it's always fun. :D

Yeah! I'm thinking what he's talking about. We're actually being overwhelmed by Cranky every time he uploads one video.
I think it's more due to uploading every day for about two months and then finding myself periodically without a challenge completed. While I didn't explicitly state or promise to upload everyday, that was what I was trying to maintain ideally. Apologizing is more for any expectation with that sort of schedule and being consistent.
I'm certainly grateful for folks being understanding.

The combo of deep focus, hive blood, and grubsong was how I beat this hellhole.
I used sharp shadow and speedmaster to my advantage there. It really made it better for me.
I feel like I have to mention it, but I use sharp shadow all the time so not having it throws me off balance.

6:30 I remember this corridor being a massive pain back when I did my Sharp Shadow only White Palace. Nice to see you do this all, we may see you become a speedrunner yet. :P

Thanks! I do intend to try a HK speedrun eventually but I think trying for a competitive time wouldn't be my focus. Personally, I'd like to redo my minimal upgrades steel soul playthrough to Radiance as a speedrun, although that's not really a category (I think the closest would be True Ending %).
I suspect I'll do Path of Pain since some folks have requested it and after doing the Pain of the Path mod it seems appropriate to do the actual version hitless (inb4 failed runs from the kingsmoulds!).
Well, there's actually a secret skip right below the ledge that leads to the corridor. If you look under the ledge right here 6:30, you can see some cracks. If you Abyss shriek those cracks it will open a secret passage that will allow you to skip that corridor.

Rip didn’t let the throne music play. Nice vid tho, White Palace is such a pretty area, not to mention the soundtrack you can barely hear through the buzz saws.

2 shortcuts easy shortcuts (idk if seen or not) I found because I had no clue where I was going because I was blind with rage from dying.
5:52 you can jump on the side spikes to the right and then monarch wing jump onto the spikes spiking out of the platform to get up fast.
5:18 you can bounce on the buzz saw when it’s at the top of the slider and monarch jump to the spiking spears instead of going around from the left.
Do you know what's your problem? You make things look easy.

Nice! Another limitation you could have added is no nail-jumps on spikes/saws. The White Palace itself doesn't require them (only Path of Pain does), and especially at moments like 2:18 it kinda feels like you're bypassing the obstacle rather than traversing it.

This is how I imagine myself in the white palace
*in reality, I’m head butting buzzsaws, spikes and god knows what else every 5 seconds*
Dang even no skips the main part I was worried about was 6:37 because I used sharp shadow and the timing was off same with a streamer I watched but you nailed those spikes and made this look surprisingly easier *should've thought that sprintmaster makes you walk past the saw parts fast still tho very impressive
I take them a little slow but technically you can dash them without repositioning. The second dash needs to be immediately after the first one to make a normal length dash before sharp shadow refreshes (the timing is a bit tight to avoid getting hit by spears so I opted to just reposition after the second dash).

Notice: You can kill the guards using the fluke charm, and the shaman stone charm. They work best.

People really out here doing white palace hitless while I have trouble on the platforming section getting to traitor lord
Now that I look back, I think the actual White Palace platforming is harder than path of pain.
I think that spear tunnel around the six minute mark is something that I dread doing. Path of Pain really isn't too bad once you get the hang of it. Maybe it's more that I've practiced PoP more than WP (especially the "normal" WP route).
@@CrankyTemplar Nah it’s definitely not just because you’ve practiced it a lot. I did it earlier today in under an hour after not even attempting it for several months. The main part that took up about 30 minutes for me, was the blade part leading up to the crystal dash cancel. I could probably do it now in under 20 minutes now that I’ve practiced and know what to do, to be honest. It might also just be because of the white palace being a lot longer too (without the skips).

The worst part of white palace is killing super annoying dream bosses just to get barely enough essence to enter it
With White Defender and Grey Prince Zote added in Hidden Dreams getting 1800 essence is much easier.

You can Nail Jump at 5:50 on the spikes when triggered to reach a wall and skip the section
