As someone who has played Hollow Knight, I did see some weird things especially with the "Knight" clipping into the saws and the vines on the climb at 2:17-2:24 ran it in 0.25 and It seemed suspicious. Any reasoning or examples on why it didn't tick the knight with damage. Or is "hit boxes" the only excuse for it.
It because it's a TAS (tool assisted speed run). They can do things like slow down the game or use savestates to make pixel perfect moves that no human player could accomplish. In this case they perfectly avoided the hitboxes.
while technically possible, faked/cheated TASes simply don't happen and don't exist - noone has ever newsworthily faked a tas, ever (according to my lazy research)
Note that it is possible to avoid the saws while sliding down the wall, ie during a wallgrab. It looks to me that the TAS times the wallgrab to occur precisely when the saw is closest, which amounts to only a few frames. But I agree, it looks ridiculous and like black magic.

It uncaps falling speed and, more importantly, removes hardfall. It's basically the current patch version of inventory drop
