    * 2X greater bowl refill delivers a more powerful flush for 1.6 or lower GPF toilets
    * Water saving roller clamp lets you regulate the fill level in the bowl
    * Best for newer, high efficiency toilets (HET), 1.6 gallons or less
    * EZ-Twist height adjusts from 10″ to 15″ to fit most tanks
    * 7 year warranty
    Fluidmaster® recommends the PerforMAX® fill valve for toilets manufactured from 1994 to the current time (works on older toilets). If you are replacing the fill valve, we recommend you also replace the flapper with the 502 flapper for the best performance. The 502 flapper works on both old and new 2 inch flush valve toilets.
    The most powerful toilet fill valve on the market. The 400AH is also known as the 400ARHR. With efficient and ultra-quite fill the 400AH replaces other inefficient, or outdated fill valve designs. Help prevent excessive or inadequate bowl fill levels. The 400AH is a code approved, anti-siphon design, that won’t contaminate the fresh water supply. Some toilet models not supported: Glacier Bay® or Niagara® Flapperless Toilets, One Piece Toilets. Does not replace Side Entry Valves.

    Saved at least another $100. I bought the Fluidmaster Fill valve, which I am going to keep, based solely on the fact that these professionals taught me, the "why", not just the "how". It turned out that cleaning out the valve did the trick and stopped my toilet from continually flowing. I didn't need to replace the entire apparatus. The guy that started the job had already charged us $85 and wanted another $100 to come out and replace the fill valve completely. This little, extremely easy, trick/tip, fixed the issue, for no charge!! Seriously, thank you for talking to me, who is very computer savvy, in a manner that understands, I'm not dumb, just ignorant of how this all works. I am a Fluidmaster product customer for life because of this one issue.
    Thank you!

    Thank you for taking the time to explain this. I installed the whole new system about two months ago and ever since my dads toilet has been clogging up multiple times a week. The manufacturer instructions did a bad job of explaining the height adjustments and so even though I knew at the time of install that the tank water level was at LEAST two full inches less then previously, I could not determine how to correct it. Your guidance has saved me from ripping the entire toilet back apart and I think it’s back at the same water level it had been originally. You are awesome!

    Mine was filling slow and found a restriction in a white rubber screw about two inches long in between the lower black tube and the upper grey tube. pulled the two tubes apart, removed the rubber screw inside the tube with needle nose pliers, removed the what looks like rocks, reinstalled the rubber screw, reattached the two tubes, put everything back together and back to full pressure.👍😉
    Before when you flush it would take around two minutes to refill and that sucks in the middle of the night to hear that going!

    The Fluidmaster 400A has a major flaw. It takes 4 mins to refill your tank where the old style takes less than a minute. The issue is theres a white rubber stopper in the valve that you must remove for the tank to fill faster. Why did the company did this?? Stupidity?? yes. Some of us needs to double flush as first time around doesn't clean everything. It appear they added this stopper in newer models.

      I just replaced mine with one from Home Depot and it refills to the maximum level possible in 75 seconds. 4 minutes is ridiculous, no valve would be designed to take that long even if they were malicious. How can see and remove that stopper?

  • @TheLarryBrown
    @TheLarryBrown 4 месяца назад

    It is possible to adjust the height of the valve without removing it from the toilet, a major labor saver. Say you installed a new valve and during testing you see that the tank water is refilling too low, darn it, you should have adjusted the valve taller during installation but now you'll have to take it all apart again. What you can do instead is * shut off water * flush to drain tank * on the tube of the valve, beneath the float there is a clear plastic ring that keeps the thread of the outer valve tube engaged with the thread of the lower valve tube. Slide that plastic ring upwards and hold it there. The threads are now not positively engage and you can simply gently pull the top of the valve upwards to the desired height. * After adjustment slide the plastic ring all the way back down into its locked position.

    • @FluidmasterInc

      The nut under a fill valve is approximately 1 inch in diameter but if it has wings it can be 2 inches and larger. If the area is too tight for an adjustable wrench then maybe a crescent wrench may work, but Fluidmaster has a Green Tool model 7110M-007 that is designed for the fill valve nut. To speed up the valve and the toilets performance try resetting your adjustable flapper so no more than half the water in the tank is used and use the roller clamp on the refill tube to slow down the water to the bowl, this will speed up the tank filling speed. If you need help with your installation or have any concerns contact Fluidmaster’s Technical Service Department as we are available Monday through Friday from 5:30 AM through 5:00pm PST. Thanks.

    • @FluidmasterInc
      @FluidmasterInc  2 месяца назад

      Thank you for posting this review. Ghost flushing or water leaking into the bowl after a new installation of a flush valve may not be the flapper. We suggest checking your refill tube position, if you have the refill tube shoved down or placed inside the overflow pipe pull it out and reattach to the overflow pipe using our refill clip. This will stop a siphon from occurring and stop the leak. Another area to check is the flush valve lock nut. You may need to tighten ½ turn beyond hand tight to stop the leak. Hmm. I tried to install a bidet and quickly regretted it because the toilet water is almost impossible to shut on or off. I finally have it back on, but discovered I have this system because of the issue at 4:45. I can manually jiggle the entire adjustment valve to start/stop but it seems to have zero correlation with the level of water in the tank. (I only figured this out because it start/stops when the white clip outside the tank is adjusted, which moves the whole thing.) Turning it clockwise or counterclockwise seems to do nothing. At least I now know what it's supposed to do. Maybe I'll try to clean out that debris and just deal with Niagara Falls in my bathroom for a minute???

      As per the video, hold a cup over the toilet fill valve when removing the top of it for flushing. That will allow you to flush debris from the valve without Niagara Falls in your bathroom. If the water cutoff valve on the wall under your toilet has frozen because of age and is inoperable you will need to replace it, Short of that, you could turn off the water to the entire house so that you can work on the toilet without it having water pressure. I didn't really understand moist of your post. If you are expecting any useful replies you may want to edit your post for clarity.

      Time it. It should be 60 to 80 seconds. One way to reduce the refill time is by lowering the cutoff point. With a new valve and long time, it could be: * Water pressure to the house is low * The cutoff valve on the wall under the toilet is partially close * The flapper is not sealing, allowing water to leak from the tank down into the bowl * Even a new valve could get clogged with debris....try flushing it per the video * If you have the deluxe 400AH shown in the video, the tighter you crank down the bowl refill tube the more water pressure you put towards the tank, resulting in a faster fill * The cutoff valve on the wall could be corroded/rusted, resulting in a blockage * The hose from the wall to the refill valve is too long, kinked, or looped

      Here is a quick tip that may help with a newly installed fill valve. When the fill valve will not turn on, this may be caused by your water source or supply line. To fix this problem flush out the water line and check to make sure nothing flowed in and is stuck in the threaded shank of the fill valve. We also recommend flushing the entire valve body and rinsing the master seal (instructions for this are in your installation guide in the troubleshooting section). I am an experienced home owner and have repaired many toilets in my 65 years. I have two comments. The rubber shank washer that came with it did not look like the one in the video or the box or the instructions. It looks like a two piece rubber washer. No where did it say to cut out the center however you can't get it on without cutting the center out. No idea where the center was supposed to go. And the refill hose adjuster is just stupid. People must have a lot stronger fingers than me because I couldn't adjust it. The tube won't compress enough. I then tried putting on in the zero position and putting hose in but that doesn't work either. So with both efforts failing. I was unable to adjust it. I'm sure I'm losing water a long with a lot of other people that don't have Schwarzenegger fingers. Other than constantly wasting my bowl water it went well and worked well.

      @@TheLarryBrown The Korky is easy to intall. Fluidmaster can be tough to adjust because you have the height of the valve and the height of the float. The Korky you just untwist, adjust the height and tighten it back up. It's quiet and works great. The Korky also fills the tank noticeably faster than the Fluidmaster fill valve. The Korky is also much easier than Fluidmaster to replace the internal shut off rubber gasket when that becomes necessary in 5 years or so. The Korky is more space efficient in these small volume tanks due to the smaller float.

    So it looks like you have the water going directly into the overflow tube. Is this proper?

      - Yes that is correct. The water going into the overflow pipe goes directly to the toilet bowl and refills the bowl to its proper level. Hahahaha...that is a very funny question. I welcome you to the world of toilet repair from, like, 1900. I also didn't understand that hose squirting into the overflow tube for a long time. A toilet is a simple yet clever device in use for a hundred years but yet, I probably still don't understand it all. Think about it like this: When the flapper closes the bowl will have been sucked empty (normally, hopefully). Since the flapper is closed the only way to get refill water in to the bowl is down that overflow tube and that's why the hose squirts water there. It's not really an "overflow" tube. It's a dual purpose "tank overflow/bowl prefill" tube.

    It takes a minute and a half to fill the water tank other than that I'm happy

      Hi, maybe you need to adjust the blue valve? My toilet was taking forever to fill, and flush, so I adjusted to the right, and now it fills in like 10 seconds!

      Hi I discovered today that if you turn that blue wheel thing closer to 0 the tank will fill much faster. I don’t need water going in the middle tube anyway. It solved the problem!

      Yes you do need water going to the middle tube. That's what prefills the bowl after each flush and you need that. However you have finite water pressure that is divided between filling the tank and filling the bowl and, as you discovered, you can slightly restrict the bowl prefill hose and thereby channel more pressure and water volume to the tank fill.
