You should rank their b-sides. 'Careful Where You Stand' and 'See You Soon' are amazing
I love "See You Soon"! "Crests of Waves" has always been one of my favourite Coldplay b-sides too

Coldplay fan from day one, but really cringe at what they’ve become in the previous two albums. Holding hope for Moon Music but won’t be surprised if it’s an all-time classic or absolute shite
My Coldplay albums ranked;
1 Parachutes

Top 2 are all-time classics and by far away their best two, miles better than the others - 3 to 6 are brilliant albums and make Coldplay one of the greatest and essential bands of the 00’s.
Mylo Xyloto is average, some good to great moments but some which don’t do anything much
Music of the Spheres and Evryday Life are shite and MOTS just pips it because of that awesome last track, their Pink Floyd moment at 10 minutes long, superb musicianship and their only great song from those two albums, but the other songs are absolutely terrible and too many collaborations with pop and whatever acts, which feels a billion miles away from their better times when they were ‘the new Radiohead’ - and finally, whereas Everyday Life leaves nothing much to memory after listening to it. It’s boring and dull, lifeless and it’s dismal, abysmal
Great band.
Definitely a great band with mixed results! This was my first time listening to the more recent albums and it was a so-so experience lol
I’m catching up on all their albums for… reasons… I personally think A Rush of Blood to the Head is their best, but I will give Parachutes its flowers.

If we are ranking "rock albums", only the first three or four albums by Coldplay actually qualify 😄

Everything else is pretty forgettable. Well...X&Y already has a lot of blandness going on.
Yeah Viva La Vida is definitely the cut off for anything "rock"! lol They are a full on pop band now

I'm not too excited about Moon Music as the singles haven't done much for me but I will listen to the album when it comes out on Friday, but like you I much prefer earlier Coldplay as I feel in more recent years they've gone too commercial and 'poppy'
Nothing will top those earlier albums! I'm open minded to the new album but we'll see how it sounds on Friday
They lost me after the fourth LP..
