- Gaming Pastime reviews Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike for GameCube.
Developed by Factor 5 and published by LucasArts, Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike was released for GameCube in October, 2003. Rogue Squadron III is fun overall with some excellent additions but also a disappointing sequel.

this game showed the true power of the GameCube, it even has Dolby Pro Logic IIx which is a variant of Dolby 7.1!
I honestly preferred Rouge Squadron 3 over 2 as a kid because of how hard 2 was (Especially the Razor Mission).
Same here. Rogue Leader almost made me rage quit.
The Star Fox Assault of Rouge Squadron
yeah the on foot sections of both are hard roadblocks for enjoyment
This game is of my childhood favorites.
I like Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike
It was my first star wars game. I loved every single second of it.
Simply the nicest reviewer on this platform, just oozes positivity lol.
My childhood
I liked the on foot stuff. Sure the camera and controls could've been better, but I was just fun to be able to experience a 3D 3rd person action game set in the original trilogy timeline. How many games have that? Exactly.
4:00 - You could unlock AT-STs in the original Rogue Squadron!
RS 2+3 look great on my Wii with component cables.
Shame that Lair PS3 tanked Factor 5
even worse there was a compilation remastered that was headed to the Wii which would have improved the issues the original games presented, better graphics and added lightsaber battles with the wiimote but sadly the project got cancelled and never released.
From the old EGM magazine interviews this game the devs seemed to have been through some intense crunch (as was customary unfortunately). They were utterly tired of the IP by the end…
The on foot missions were terrible. I respect that they took a shot with them tho. Developers don’t take risks anymore. To me this is a must own GameCube game even with it being the worst rouge squadron game.
on foot stuff really was the worst idea ever, strange how virtual chess vs chewbacca was not included also lol
So Rogue Squadron gotta third game. But not KOTOR, BF, or TFU :(
Hello
Not as good as rogue squadron 2. Mainly as the on foot battles were very clumsy compared to other 3rd person shooters of the time. With rogue squadron 1 and 2 it just focuses on vehicle combat and worked so much better because of it. a great game/s that doesn't get as much recognition due to them being set in the prequel universe are the Starfighter/Jedi Starfighter games. Not as graphically impressive but very enjoyable none the less
E v zoo ten pairs erry week!
Gorrila zoe - hood figga
lol never knew you could unlock arcade games
Isn't this what fans consider to be the worst Rogue Squadron game?
I personally love the co-op and multiplayer! My girlfriend is neither a Star Wars fan nor a big gamer, but we play together and have a blast.
Wow. I did not expect the newest Star Wars game to look so...dated? Terrible for 2024 standards. And they charge $70 for this? Unbelievable.
Oh man, i got this Game in December 2003 on Christmas here in Germany and it´s one of those Games that when playing it again it brings me back to this time!
"Factor 5" had a vision with the third installment, and i respect that.
However, the problem as the review already tells, are the On Foot Missions.
You have all these unlockable ships, but can´t even use them in all missions, since 70% of them are On Foot.
Then you have the choice between "Wedge Missions" and "Luke Missions". While the former are the missions you expect from a Rouge Squadron Game, the Luke Missions are really bad. On top of it, it all builds up to the Sail Barge Mission, in which you are finally a Jedi, which if i remember correctly can you beat in 1 Minute.
