Such amazing magic happens between these two masters of the crosspicking style of playing! Wish they were still here with us today.

Add charlie waller, you have the BEST PICKERS OF ALL TIME. I knew both of those guys. My dad played with both of those guys many times in jam sessions. My dad passed in 2022, what i would give to hear that again. Those three were his favorites. Dad sang this song hundreds of times, yes i miss him ànd that sound soooo much.

Wow! BEAUTIFUL! Just watched this again.
To many pickers, it is all about speed and I respect their ability but so much is lost trying to knock out 200 BPM. It runs together and starts to sound like a woodpecker. You can't, dance (even clog), sing or listen that fast.

Wonder what he thinks or thought about pickers like Billy Strings,Molly Tuttle,Matteo Mancuso or Marcus King. They all show great Respect to players like this gentlemen as they should.

I am now a down down up rest stroke crosspicker AND its always amazing how many other internet players/teachers (even the great ones) tell you NOT to play the way these super talents are ACTUALLY playing

Two of my favorites. It's sad Shelton died the same year as Shuffler considering the vast age difference.

What's the deal with that tuning? George has a capo on 3 but James' capo in on 5. The chording doesn't make sense. Is George's guitar tuned down to begin with ??

Standard tuning E A D G B E. They're in the same key just playing different positions....George is playing out of the D position and James is playing out of the G position. Same key, different chord formation.

Instead of 2 down and one up, just do 3 down. It's the same outcome and much simpler.
