I learned more about the game from your brief and concise video than I've learned from watching others that are much, much longer. Well done and thanks.
@@StormofSteelWargaming People are always asking us to do "How to Play" videos for all the games we review, and if we ever did anything like that, I would want it to be like what you've done here. Short, well structured, and illustrating the most important aspects of play. There are VERY few channels who do reviews like you've done here.
@@LittleWarsTV Cheers chaps! Again, praise indeed. I have been watching your channel for a while and taken a lot of tips from it (the map making one in particular!), so I'm glad you enjoyed it. I kinda did this as though it was a board game rules explanation really.
agreed with the other comments, near perfect video. I have never found it easy to really understand Rommel, but the video made it much clearer. thank you.
How did you create the playing surface. I’ve often thought this game could be played using cards instead of miniatures. Please post more on this game. ✔️
The game board is just a sheet of thick MDF, with static grass added using PVA glue and a fixer. All I did for the grids was use two different colours grasses!
Looks like these rules are good for large force, quick play but the 'attacker retreat and tip' part seems odd. Being disorganised makes sense but is there no 'keep fighting' option? How do you find it works in the game generally? And I'll echo the comments on quality of the video. Great to see well prepared materials that really give you an idea of the game and gear.
Yep, they are specifically for Operational level gaming with each square being 1km square IRL. That was a mistake, the retreat and tip thing. This was an early video I made and if you have look at my other videos, you'll see a clearer combat examples video. I do mean to do a better series on these rules, but, you know, time and all that... And thank you!

Thank Patrick, I am glad it was useful! It's a good game, and there is more to it than I have presented here, tbh
Very concise and well done!
Wow! Praise indeed coming from you guys! Thank you very much!

Thank you very much, I am glad that the video helped!
Lovely video, found you after checking the o'Group quick strike video. Very interested in trying this!
Thank you, glad to have you onboard. Rommel is an excellent game, well worth your time.
Not far off the ‘perfect’ you tube video. Camera, audio, pace, script etc etc. You should do more.
Thank you very much! I do have a few how to play videos on the rest of the channel and will be doing more in the future.
Thanks for making these videos, they're very helpful!
No worries!

Great How to play video. What size are your bases?
Thank you very much! These bases are two inch squares, I got them from Sally 4th, but you could easily make your own from plasticard
Subbed
Thank you!
