In a time when critical thinking and rational civil discourse has become hard to encounter whilst at the same time being extremely important, this young man has it in abundance. His confidence paired with the ability to listen, rationalize, and then convey his stance on the topic is exceptional. He asks more questions to clarify the point, while also using that to find better answers for the topic, putting forward solid concepts and ideas for how it could possibly be resolved. Unpacking ideas quickly and being extremely sharp during this discussion. The hope and prosperity for human civilization is within young people like this.
Sadly the host was up to no good. Attempting to use slight of hand tact’s such as stating there are more white people (overall) on welfare than black. Knowing when speaking in a ratio this is wholeheartedly untrue. He did this to “win” the conversation. Which shows he does not want to get to “the truth” rather than just get to “his truth”. He diverted the conversation when the young man asked questions he could not answer without showing the holes in his argument. The fact that he believes systemic racism ended with the signing of one paper shows you he’s ignorantly biased in his viewpoints. Let’s have this same conversation with Dr. Umar or Tarique Nasheed and see how his manipulations hold up.

When you look at everything through a racist lens, you will find it in everything.
I’m ecstatic to see people can sit down and still have a civil debate. It’s impressive that this young man was able to sit down and converse with someone about such an inflammatory topic so eloquently. The population at large has forgotten that “just because we disagree doesn’t mean I hate you” and it’s such a sad sight. The United States used to celebrate differences, cultural or otherwise, and that has been this country’s greatest strength through it’s existence.
No he doesn't. The kid made some great points, and the conversation could have gotten deeper and more fruitful if he would have understood the kid the first times around. The kid had to keeo repeating himself to make it clear what he was saying. He was just busy trying to get that "aha, I got you" moment, instead of really hearing what the kid says. Systematic racism still exists because racist people work for the system, and sometimes in whole groups together. It's really not that hard to understand.
Until he gets racially profiled and jailed for knowing his rights...because that's what occasionally happens with black men for just trying to live life

Due to frustration at the blatant ignorance from either or both sides of the discussion. This has got to be the most well informed, educated, and articulate young man of 19 years that I have ever heard speak. Much respect to him for obviously putting in that work, and to his parents also, who clearly knew how to raise a child into a respectable adult. Well done all around.

I was thinking “whoa kid really knows how to think for himself and is not in the least bit intimidated by opposition” and then he said he was homeschooled and everything made sense 😂😂😂 I’m on year 2 of homeschooling my kids and this is why.
I have a few question regarding homeschooling if you don't mind answering.. 1. Do you teach them or hire a tutor to teach them? 2. If there's tutor, how are the tests? 3. How do you choose subjects to be homeschool? Is it up to you or does your kids have a say in the matter? (You probably choose basic subject for early years.. if so, what do you have for advanced subjects) 4. Are you always at home or at least available most of the time? I'm not a fan of schools and I'm always absent unless its P.E. While all my teachers expect me to failed, I didn't because despite no going to school.. I go to classes on the evening/night. I also think it's the way more eyes to be opened when you can see two perspectives that actually get to debate or speak over something that isn't set in a formal situation.
No matter where you stand, this was a refreshing conversation. A lot of people could learn from this. They don't necessarily agree but are able to treat each other with respect and have a conversation rather than a yelling match or getting super emotional. If you are unable to talk with people you don't agree with, you will NEVER grow as a person. As individuals, it's impossible to know everything or have a perspective that can't grow, nobody, which means we all have something to learn. If you only talk to people who parrot what you already believe, you're just reinforcing your opinion. And by the way, usually younger people but people in general, if someone says something you don't agree with, that doesn't give you the green light to instantly assume the moral high ground and stop communicating, NOTHING improves when people do that. Have your opinion, even express it, but don't treat people like shit for disagreeing with you.
These are the much needed conversations that need to take place more often, communication is the most important tool in the fieldhouse of mindful and thoughtful diplomacy. Raw, truthful and open minded... absolutely brilliant interview! 🙏🤓

@@chrism8311 Well I certainly agree it was bold of him to just outright say the word. If it's used in malice towards you, yes you have the right to be upset like any time you're insulted, but as the old saying goes "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

(You probably choose basic subject for early years.. if so, what do you have for advanced subjects)
4. Are you always at home or at least available most of the time?
I'm not a fan of schools and I'm always absent unless its P.E. While all my teachers expect me to failed, I didn't because despite no going to school.. I go to classes on the evening/night. Personally, I was learning much better there than school. So I'm thinking the benefits of homeschooling.

The change my mind segments are my absolute favorite I could watch him forever I love seeing people's perspectives when you finally get them open up and talk to you about real things it's really neat.
