Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to my favorite chef, dear Babe, and all your family. Thank you for the happiness and good recipes you have brought to us this year. You are a treasure!
I don't regret that you were a terrible student, @andy_ cooks!! The world is a better place for you having dropped out of school and enrolled in chef's school instead!! Your talent and enthusiasm are simply infectious! Thanks for bringing us all so many fabulous recipes! Happy holidays to you, Babe and the rest of your family!!
This reminded me of my father when he went through his Reuben stage. He used to grill his on a waffle grill. I could really go for one of these! Never had one.
Matter of personal preference but the Philly cheesesteak is the king of sandwiches for me. Chicken bacon ranch is also high on the list and a good steak sandwich can be top tier but there are so many different ways to make a steak sandwich you can't really describe it as a single sandwich.
@@jdthesexpert05 All great. I make a fantastic Cubano based on a slow cooked, highly seasoned, marinated pork shoulder (ie pork butt). But I can’t find authentic bread in my neck of the woods 😡. Love Philly cheese sandwiches but they really aren’t sandwiches - more like a hot sun.
I don't like 1000 Island dressing, corn beef, sauerkraut, and rye bread. But an old school Jewish deli, down the street has a Reuben that I only recently tasted. For 39 years of my life I refused to eat it because I didn't like the individual ingredients. But the Reuben, by far, is the most delicious sandwich I've ever had. In all seriousness, it's a religious experience.
I grew up thinking these sandwiches were the devil (the kraut always threw me off) but now I'm right there with you dude, Reubens, BLTs, and Gyros are my top 3
Some really good deli pastrami is as good as corned beef on a Rueben. A real roasted lamb Gyro is hard to beat! Ate one in Jersey that was close to the ones I use to eat at a Turkish bistro in Frankfurt. They also had stuffed grape leaves that rocked!
This is easily my favorite sandwich. We used to go to a restaurant in Georgia USA owned by a New York Italian and order the Reuben sandwich plate and MR. Carolo would ask if you’d like fries or slaawr. I loved to hear him pronounce slaw. I always waited for him to ask the question so I could hear that. 😂😂😅😊😊❤❤
Opened my appetite for this Christmas Eve! Would love to see your take on Cepelinai! (Day "I forgot to count" of requesting, not as long as Neil, but pretty close)
If you don't want to fire up your entire oven just for a small sandwich, put it 30 seconds on your microwave oven, and immediately put it back into a pan to toast it up. You get the warmth on the inside with the nice toasted texture on the outside.
Andy, this reminds me of childhood! My grandmother (who passed away on Christmas 2022) made these for me, or if we were out found a good deli to get one!( She lived outside NYC at the time). Thank you for the memories bud!
Mate! Love that sando!!! It was invented at the Blackstone Hotel in my hometown Omaha, Nebraska!!! Thanks for making a Nebraska classic! I still have a request for you to make another Nebraska Classic - Runza with homemade Ranch Dressing!
The original Rueben is from the Black Stone hotel in Omaha, Ne. It never had anything that u put in your sauce for the saurkraut. The sauce was/is homemade thousand island dressing mixed into the kraut. ALTHOUGH yours looks great. When it comes to this sandwich, I will stick to original when it comes to the Rueben. But when I make yours I'll call it Chef Andy's
This is my Absolute Favorite Sandwich!!! I need to have you come to where I live!!! I went to 3 deli’s for a Reuben sandwich and they Did not know how to make it!!! I went to a deli on the other side of town to get it. I’m better off making it myself. Thank You❤❤❤. That looks Delicious 🤤
Missing pickles mate. I worked at a really nice delicatessen, and the Reuben and the Cuban were 2 of the more popular sandos we made. And they BOTH HAD PICKLES!!! The Cuban was mayo and one side mustard, on a sub style baguette, with black forest ham, 1/8th inch slices of house seasoned pork loin, with pickles and swiss cheese. The Reuben, was the same as you made it except, like I said, add pickles. And we only used Swiss, unless a customer requested a different cheese

Well it is getting cold

Don't be shy with the meat.
I came to the comments after the mayo squirt

Love a good Reuben sandwich.
I used to drive 70 miles one-way to have the Reuben at Katz' Deli in Austin.
So so good!
Yeah but he forgot to sauce the outside of the sandwich “sauce both sides”
I use to Drive one way 70 Miles for Crack Cocaine
Lucky sod i have 3,255 miles one way.

With a Ruben, it HAS to be about the quality of the ingredients, and Andy always uses the finest. Merry Christmas, Andy and Babe!

him wearing chef outfit give different vibes when he wears regular outfit...the food looks yummy
Regardless of his attire, he kicks ass and takes name. R’spect it.

I could really go for one of these! Never had one.
I have a waffle grill that you can flip over the plates and turn it into a panini press.
I'd say the Cubano is the king of sandwiches, but the Reuben is definitely on the king's council.

Amazing how taste buds change when we grow up. Things I use to hate I adore nowadays.
Please make the polish pierogi, I love the videos
Reuben sandwiches are one of my favorites. I once had an elderly aunt who called it a sauerkraut sandwich !
Too cute for words! Happy Holidays to all! ❤️
Agreed. #1) BLT #2) Reuben #3) Many
One small tweak on the Reuben - lots of melted butter on each slice of bread.
Absolutely love a Rueben but it's tough to find a good one 🤔
He just showed you how to find a good one.
Absolutely perfect. Bravo. More sauerkraut on the side with pickle. Don't be shy with the meat or cheese.

This is actually what my local deli does and the sandwich is amazing. My favorite is the Rachel with pastrami and coleslaw instead.
Merry Christmas Chef. All I want for Christmas is some Sambar deer short ribs please!
Chef, i would love to see some shwarma made by you ❄️
Omg I second this, this would be amazing 🤤💖
Shawarma is quite tasty! I third this!
Drooling over here in Canada! Amazing
Merry Christmas! Today I'll give you a break and not ask for Feijoada Completa, I'm here just wish you Merry Christmas with your loved ones!🎄 🌟
Nothing wrong here, but lord, that is some thickly sliced corned beef.
I love this man!
mmmm dill pickle and nose scalding horseradish

Oh Andy ... The BEST REUBEN EVER ❣
I love a good Reuben sandwich! That sauce looks way better than just Thousand Island, the way they usually serve it up here in the States 😍
My absolute favorite sandwich.
A little butter and a panini press and you had me. A top 3 sando for sure.
Good, smart stacking of the sandwich insides! No soaking bread from clumsy stacking.
Day 34 of asking for "German Mettbrötchen" xD
Is sour kraut German right ?
@@ricardorascon88 yes, it is. But the sandwich isn´t xD
@Nexx-Finalis I figured it was since I was watching WW2 movies and the allied troops called Germans "Krauts" lol and it reminded me of sour kraut
Love this chef so good it looking mate nice chef your are best
My mom makes an amazing Reuben. Definitely one of the best kinds of sandwiches there is
Even a simple Ruben looks amazing!!
Best sandwich everrrrrrrr! Yum! Merry Christmas! Thanks for making this!
Day 61 of asking for tteokbokki!! And Reuben sandwiches are one of my favs also!❤
One of my favourites!
Day 11 of asking for Filipino KareKare ❤ btw I love Reuben sandwiches so thank you for the recipe!!
Excellent Reuben! Merry Christmas to you and Babe!
Wow, that was great. Thanks for the inspiration
Love watching you create !! Merry Christmas 🎄🎅

My favorite sandwich. Any time I go to a new state for a job, the first thing I look for is a good Rueben😎
By far the best thing you've ever made. IMO.
Best looking Reuben I've ever seen
Always a favorite! Happy Holidays to all! ❤️
Amazing work as always chef but where is the pickle on the side?

Yum....I love when you talk us thru it
Chef. This is my favorite sandwich
Yum! That's my favorite sandwich! Best wishes from northern Illinois USA.
you should make staffordshire oatcakes, they're a stellar local food in my hometown
My absolute favorite sandwich
Easy and delicious! Ty !
My favorite sandwich ever!!!
I love a good sandwich that's generous with the meat. That looks really good 😋
Now I'm wicked hungry again! Thanks alot !
Merry Christmas everyone! Andy l love your channel! You and your wife are adorable ❣️
My favorite sandwich, yummy!
I absolutely LOVE Reuben sandwiches!
Better than the one gordon ramsay made recently
I usually use just mustard on a corned beef reuben. That condiment you made looks like it would be better suited for pastrami.
That's always been one of favorite sandwiches
Hope you and babe feel better chef , merry Christmas
😱🙏🎄 That KIWI was strong today. Merry Christmas, Andy! Excellent Reuben! We add HOT horseradish and spicy cole slaw w/ spicy pickle. Yum yum
My local Irish pub makes one with corned beef and it is next-level, get one every year for my birthday!
Reubens are BY A WIDE margin my favorite sandwich. I prefer my meat to be much more thinly sliced though
Damn I've eaten many, many Rubens but yours looks fan-Fu*king-tastic!!!!
You're 1000% right about dark rye. That bread makes a great ruben.

You make that delicious sandwich masterpiece look easy to make.
YUM!!!!!!!
My very favorite.
Holy cow that looks amazing. Definitely one of my favorite sandwiches wish I was tasting yours right now
Excellent Chef Andy !!!
I would love to have a food cart that just does Reuben’s and Cubans.
My favorite sandwich.
Instant thumbs up when I saw it'd be Reuben. You did it justice.
Wisconsin style is on a flat griddle with butter on the bread. Juicy not dry.
Haven’t had one in years, used to take my elderly mum to the hairdresser and then to a cafe where they made the best Ruben’s. Miss mum and our outings
Had my first in the US, absolutely gorgeous. And I live in Bavaria, the source of sauerkraut and have a never made on here.
absolute yum, Chef!❤
It’s my #1 favorite sandwich
Almost perfect, Chef Andy!
I prefer to grill the bread, rather than toast, for another flavor level to the sandwich.
es delicioso la he probado yummy yummy
Just made your reuben. It was delicious. Might I suggest the addition of grainy mustard. I think that would make it perfect!
