    I remember all of the years of firearms training at indoor and outdoor ranges where we learned to shoot at targets through car windshields. Glad to see these officers are highly trained windshield shooter-throughers. Legend has it that the officer whose gun jammed after firing some initial shots through his windshield was later cleaning his gun and was STUNNED to find a large amount of fragmented glass in the slide and down the barrel.

      I trained LE and the military in weapons and small unit tactics for 16+ years. We used to get junk cars and set up targets in the front and back seats. Officers would engage them with handguns and HP rifles through the front, back and side windows. They were amazed at how much the POI (Point of Impact) shifted from the POA (Point of Aim) by htting most any glass first. It was evident even with .308 Remington and .300 Winchester Magnum rifle rounds.

      Please do more breakdowns of incidents like this!
      Instructors can tell you what you should do in a limited amount of situations. Officers can do practical training on a limited amount scenarios.
      I sat through weeks of training over my career and only got to participate in one or two scenarios at each training.
      By the end of the week everyone was bored and not paying attention to what was going on.
      I believe the best training would be spending several days watching videos of what really happens on the street.
      After every video, ask the class what they saw and if anything, what they would have done differently.
      It would keep officers engaged and ready to offer thier opinion on what they saw.
      There is no wrong answer. It's not a pass or fail. It's a way to promote a discussion. Let them learn from mistakes that were made and especially learn from what was done right.
      It keeps officers engaged and brings discussion.

    • @JBliehall
      @JBliehall 6 месяцев назад

      He stripped that mag, and inserted a fresh one. I couldn't tell if he got back into the fight. He certainly didn't run the slide which you would do if you had a Class III malfunction. When I trained LE and the military in weapons and small unit tactics I instructed them that when your gun "stops working" in a gunfight you have no idea if it's a malfunction or you are out of rounds.
      QUICKLY rotate the gun so you can see into the ejection port. (Rifle or handgun) See brass??? You have BIG problems! The last thing you want is to believe you are out and bring a fresh magazine up from your mag carrier while you do what I (derisively) call a "Hollywood High" i.e. pressing the mag release with your strong hand and expect the spent mag to drop free. If you have a malfuction (especially a Class III) you now you have to clear that malfunction with a magazine in your support hand......Good Luck.
      And PLEASE don't start with the "You always have to keep looking down range to know what your assailant is doing". That is total BS. Your primary responsibility is to bring your operable weapon to bear and get back into the fight.
      And it only takes a fraction of a second to look into the ejection port, rifle or handgun.

    I came here for NMSU for college. Omg I’m so glad to finally be leaving! Jesus, in the 2.5 years I’ve been here, had my key from stolen at a gym in broad daylight, my girlfriends gym bag stolen, uncles house robbed, fought crackheads being suspicious on our property late at night 3 times, at a ditch by our house, a crackhead overdosed and his friends took his drugs off his body and left him there dead all night, 2 times a drunk plowed through a concrete wall on our property, and CRACKHEADS EVERYWHERE! Screamed at me in my car countless times for no reason, and the icing on the cake (what made me decide to leave) was that a schizophrenic fentanyl addict killed a police officer in broad daylight with a kitchen knife! Permanently disturbed me, I’ll never be able to forget that tragedy. Prices here are ridiculous, and some jobs break federal law and actually pay below minimum wage. And the only way to be comfortable here is if you live in Sonoma ranch, the top 20% wealthiest population here. This place is turning into Albuquerque. Glocks are absolute garbage. I really can't get over had pathetic the fanboys are. In fact I've seen sig m17 vs Glock in a torture test and the Glock not only malfunctioned but the gun was a total loss. And the m17 did not malfunction once.@@buddysumner4022

    By reading the comments, it seems that there are several current and ex-LEOs commenting. I was wondering why the one officer was having so many malfunctions. I get guns can malfunction if the slide is rubbing against something and won't cycle correctly, but it seemed more than that. Maybe his carry ammo is not what he used at the range? Some ammo and guns just don't work well together. Any ideas?

    My only comment is about the girlfriend.... typical police brutality and violation of civil rights. She was not a danger to ANYONE, and also was not right in the middle of the scene. She was simply, and understandably, emotional and scared, and all the cops had to do was calmly talk to her and usher her away and not drastically escalate into violence and illegally detaining or arresting her. That was total bull crap. And dont say she distracted them or some other nonsense. The scene was code 4 and the cops knew the guy was neutralized, and any loved one is going to be emotional, none of wht they did to her was ok. As usual, cops are escalting and earning the hate. Great job you thugs.
