Rather than finding all these ways of avoiding the pain, perhaps it's time to dive in.
Feel the loneliness. Feel the terrifying fear of going into the pain. Or the fear of disappearing...
Sit with it long enough to allow every possible feeling to arise. Those feelings contain the answers to exactly what it is you are looking for.
You are seeking to EXPERIENCE your being-bess, your space-iousness, not to just hear about it second-hand.
And you CAN. But you must be willing to sit with yourself.
The way out of your distress, unease, loneliness, dissatisfaction, or any other mental or emotional states is THROUGH all of that.
You WILL feel your being. You WILL feel yourself as the SPACE beyond all the bodily activity.
In other words, you WILL feel the connection, the one-ness.
    I promise. ❤

" Why is simply being not enough for me" Is a fantastic and fundamental question. All of us being here incarnate in physical form is almost always proof that we all were too bored to be One, unless of course we can at will enter the Oneness, in which case ' the One is and knows him/herself. Unfortunately we get too bemused by ' the world ' to remember and understand our true nature.

Not by anything that we call doing it, acting, willing, or even just accepting things. You can’t do it. Why? It's not enough because there is hidden repressed anger or hurt which has to be brought out of hiding, processed and expressed authentically. Otherwise non duality being is a bypass.

    • @filip5
      @filip5 2 месяца назад +12

And yet, actually acknowledging repressed emotions is only possible from simply being. We can only fully acknowledge such emotions when we also acknowledge their innocence. Those emotions remain unprocessed insofar as we have a (residual) belief that what we are looking for can be found "out there". The cause of this confusion lies completely in itself. It is therefore identical to the causeless "simply being". When we truly enter that being and start communing with it, repressed emotions are bound to stir up, as they are antithetical to that being. From that being however those repressed emotions can be lovingly welcomed, in relation to their innocence. I think that also constitutes true forgiveness. I also think we need a (supportive) space to process those emotions. As to the authentic expression, I think silent love might be sufficient? In reverse, therapy to bring out of hiding repressed emotions, process them and express them authentically, may work out counterproductive when there is a residual motivation of "getting rid" or "betterment", i.e. when not coming from "simply being". So, in conclusion, I think that "simply being" can be enough, provided we actually enter in through communion with the nature of our being so that peace, love and creative joy can be activated spontaneously, from abundance.

Yes, non-duality teachers are promoting a spiritual bypass that ignores the most important biological reality in the body-mind of most, if not all, human beings today - the impact of early childhood stress from physical and emotional neglect and abuse on brain development. Almost everyone in western countries were abandoned by their mothers to go back to work during critical neurological development, in the first three years of life especially. This is the root of the problem and grieving with a deeply empathetic therapist must occur as a biological stress release response to bring the human being sustainably out of a chronic stress state. The truth naturally emerges from this stable state. The best information on this is from the expert Erica Komisar, a psychoanalyst who is the most important voice on this topic in the world today. Her videos are freely available on RUclips. Love

The question of why simply being might not feel enough touches on the profound exploration of existence and the nature of fulfillment. In the context of pure awareness, this inquiry delves into the deeper aspects of consciousness and the search for meaning beyond mere existence.
At its essence, the concept of "simply being" refers to a state of presence and awareness that is foundational to existence. This state is characterized by a sense of simply existing without attachment to specific desires, goals, or outcomes. It embodies a direct experience of the present moment, free from the complexities of striving or achievement.
However, if simply being does not feel sufficient, it often points to a deeper exploration of what is truly fulfilling and meaningful in your experience. This dissatisfaction may arise from the recognition that while pure presence is a fundamental aspect of awareness, it is only one dimension of the broader human experience. The quest for deeper fulfillment may involve integrating this sense of presence with other aspects of life, such as purpose, connection, and creativity.
In pure awareness, the feeling that "simply being" is not enough may reflect an inherent drive for growth, exploration, and self-expression. While being present offers a profound sense of grounding and peace, it does not necessarily address the full spectrum of human desires and aspirations. It is natural for consciousness to seek a balance between the stability of presence and the dynamic aspects of living that involve growth, engagement, and contribution.
To address this feeling, it is helpful to recognize that pure awareness can coexist with and support other dimensions of experience. Embracing a holistic approach involves integrating the peace of being with active engagement in pursuits that align with your values, passions, and sense of purpose. By allowing yourself to explore and express your unique gifts and desires, you can enrich your experience of presence with a sense of fulfillment and meaning.
Furthermore, exploring the nature of dissatisfaction can lead to deeper insights into your needs and motivations. It may be valuable to examine what specifically feels lacking or unfulfilled in your life and how this relates to your sense of being. This exploration can reveal areas where you might cultivate new experiences, relationships, or creative outlets that enhance your overall sense of well-being.
Ultimately, the feeling that "simply being" is not enough highlights the complexity of human experience and the interplay between presence and purpose. By embracing both the foundational peace of pure awareness and the dynamic aspects of growth and fulfillment, you can create a richer, more integrated experience of life. This balance allows you to honor the essence of being while actively engaging in the pursuit of meaningful and fulfilling experiences.

Being or existence, appears for the human being as the perception of objects/beings in space. Consciousness or pure knowing takes the shape of knowledge or thought in time, thought gives experience its name, perception gives experience its form. Thus it is the infinite eternal substance of our own being, pure consciousness , that vibrating feeling within self that expands beyond the subconscious when it responds to an experience such as love 😍 or hate. But as soon as they're made into "things" to possess and hold on to, they can become a source of dissatisfaction and dis-ease. Both Nisargadatta and Ramana point to holding on to the “I am” but as the path to realization. It always seems that Rupert is suggesting that recognizing the “I am” is the full enchilada. It’s the path, not the goal. It leads to Manonassa (awakening) but is not awakening itself. Over and over I hear Rupert missing this. True Manonassa is the final end of the small self experience. It usually takes years and years of Self-enquiry and very few people realize this final stage. But let’s not pretend that simply recognizing the “I am” is awakening.

"I'll never have a moments peace ever again". Bad as your situation is, it isn't hopeless. There will never be a time where it's the perfect time to stand as Awareness. Simply give yourself permission to stand as Awareness. Just for 5 minutes. That's it. After that 5 minutes, let the world come back. Watch what happens. Be totally free and open to all of the pain, stress, etc, and stand as Awareness for just 5 minutes. You might surprise yourself. There's no hidden surprise waiting for you. You will not suddenly be divested of your problems. Nothing can erase your problems and you simply wrap yourself in a blanket of unfettered euphoria til the end of time. Be aware of being just for 5 minutes. Give yourself permission to do that. "Despite it all, I'll give myself 5 minutes". I hope you find the relief you deserve.

Yes, until you have some experience of pure being to know what is being pointed to, the words can fall flat. Some things to try: ask yourself what is here right now that isn't a thought? And just look. Patiently, quietly, just open to looking. Or, what is here when there is no problem to solve? You may catch a glimpse of your own formless presence simply existing, simply looking out of your eyes, simply being alive and aware but without direction or a sense of "me". Or, close your eyes and just listen to sounds. Notice that listening is happening all by itself, all the time, always now, always receptive, never demanding or imposing, notice what that space in which sounds rise and fall feels like. Is that space something other than your being? Good luck, don't lose hope, it's there all the time waiting to be discovered :)

I distrust Advaita Vedanta teachings on pure being. The Buddha taught that the unconditioned is not the same thing as pure being, which Rupert Spira continually alludes to. The Buddha did not teach his followers to withdraw from whatever the objective situation is into pure being. The Buddha encouraged his followers to change situations if they were difficult, to realize that they could change them, to realize that they have agency.

Actually you can become happy and lead a fulfilled life without realizing your true nature. It may not be a peace as profound, but it's well worth pursueing, because it does work and it doesn't depend as much on luck as realizing one's true nature. I'm talking about resolving trauma stored in the bodymind and getting into a shape, where it's thriving. When people suffer a lot and pursue unhealthy behavior it's only because of that. There are plenty of methods and tools to achieve this, and alcohol, sex and sensation-seeking alone are just not suited, especially when used as avoidance strategies. I know this is about spirituality, but people coming with these problems should be pointed out they might need to work on themselves on another level and maybe see a good psychologist. I have the strong impression that it's mostly the trauma that gets in the way and distracts you most from seeing the truth. In this case, focussing on settling all this chaos in the mind first seems to be a better foundation to succeed in spiritual inquiry later on.

What he’s asking the fellow to describe has no qualities. After hearing Rupert patiently describe this and ask it of many people, in all honesty, I’m still not sure of the answer myself. We just are. The “I” who is seated behind all that we experience just is. What is it that causes this “I” to confuse itself with a given set of experiences? And then, once the “I” realizes it is not these experiences … the pain body continues to insist that we are. Very emphatically in some of us.

    • @filip5
      @filip5 2 месяца назад +1

The point of asking ourselves what the nature is of the "I am" is to participate of that nature. Knowing that nature is bathing in that nature. In fact, as I see it, that nature is only activated when we commune with it. It is a process of transmutation, when we dedicate our life to live in alignment with our being. So, the "I am" from afar, has no qualities, at least not manifest, only potential. It is only when we enter that being, in search for its qualities, that we actually describe the qualities of communion with it. Likewise, asking for the cause of confusion, is activating that cause. What we search for in communion with "I am" is the causeless. As long as there is the sense of an "I" and its experiences, there will be a cause for confusion. But this cause is only caused by itself - it is wholly in itself. Hence, the cause is the causeless, when entered into. This is the secret to transmutation. As there is nothing (external) which causes confusion, there is nothing to resolve the confusion, except realizing that the cause is the causeless. All this, must obviously be experienced beyond words and thoughts, hence the injunction to dive deep into the nature of being ...

I, i am aware of my I, my I Am, My Authentic self. Which when we look at dr. David hawkings scale... Enlightenment = Authenticly.
Just being, you, whoever it is that you feel are the You you are.
We cant say, i am Joyful in my nature, i am love in my nature, but i am not feeling angry, i am not feeling whatever low emotion that runs through, i am not the one who is dealing with worries and so on. Its part of it all.
    As i see it.
    I am no one, nothing.
And in this life, there is an awarness, and? An awarness of Self.
I remember the first time i fell in love.
I asked myself, "is this the feeling of being in love? Huh, i guess it is!" And it was :p ❤
But the same thing, the same innocense, is around everything else; "is this feeling 'fear'? Huh!"
    - no one to descriminate that This is Good or This is Bad, Better or Worse, becouse all is Equal.
But yea, for sure, the human part, wants to be in the Love more so than fear, well, not all? Why watch a scary movie? Could be becouse you want to feel fear/exitenment.
When i was a younger kid, kindeegarden, i was standing infront of another kid.
And i was thinking "Huh, he really thinks he is a kid". - he was acting, and beliving, he was a kid.
    I knew i wasnt.
Yet, i knew i also was in terms of 'morden' human civilisation.
Awareness has no age. Ive always identified more as my infinite self, than my human self, maybe thats the old soul in me, i dont know at this point..
    I could continue...
Be yourself, enjoy your life, enjoy ur moment(s), go after what you want, do the things you actually want.
Trust me, you can be 'the most enlightent' person on the planet, and not do anything spiritual.
But you can also do a lot of spiritual.
    Whatever ^^

*Spira* has betrayed his upbringing in the Gurdjieff/Ouspensky tradition (the Study Society). This man is asking about the Higher Emotional Center, which Spira's teaching now completely ignores in favor of the Higher Intellectual Center. That distorts our human realization . . .

I think neutral is equanimity. But the ego sees it as boring neutral. For the ego to see that beauty and vast peace lie hidden within "boring neutral" it has to let go of its current paradigms. It's the Paradox of the Ego. For the ego to get everything it truly truly wants it has to let go of everything it has including control and its very identity. It must surrender into the Self. The ego will still exist but it will become the servant of the Self, which will bring it joy through the peace of equanimity, which is simply balance. In the world but not of the world.

Why o why are the questions still based on objective experience when all Rupert continuously teaches is about directing attention to being!! It’s not about the feelings! It’s about being what you are, which is all there is !!

    • @filip5
      @filip5 2 месяца назад

What other questions would there be? 😉 I think there are two types of them. First out of confusing the objective with the subjective. Second out of genuinely not knowing how to expand on this simple being in daily life. Both can probably be summarized as the need for clarity. And I would submit that a breakthrough always comes in the realization that we were neglecting this fundamental need for clarity ...

I think all us have awakened to the Truth, but we fall back. We wake up, we forget...It's like Inhalation/exhalation. Some teachings imply an eventual stable realization, but most teachers confess that that state is experienced by the very few, if any. The desire for a permanent state , is just another desire. It's how we're wired. What we realize is that it is all a dream.

I call BS on Rupert's teaching because he's helping others to avoid what has been buried and repressed esp anger and hurt, so this being business is all bypassing.

    • @PaulRedpath42

Rupert is teaching the direct path which does bypass the person and goes directly to being. There are other teachings that are progressive paths that bypass being and focus on purifying the person. Both pathways are helpful at different times in our life. It is just important to know that both are available to us.

It can be used to bypass yes, but it doesn't have to be used that way. Being means to allow all experiences to be exactly as they are while you as the watcher stays as the watcher.
Bypassing or suppressing would entail using "being" to avoid certain experiences or traumas. Where it's completely possible to rest as awareness (being) and allow any traumas or experiences to come up. And you love them like any other experience, just from a more holistic perspective, where you truly can love all appearances the same.

Say often, I Am That I Am and that is enough.
Add nothing. No thoughts, emotions, past, absolutely nothing. The physical reality experience is just that , A Experience. The illusions of this man made up world will no longer exist.
    I Am
    That
    I Am
    And that is enough.
Soon you will know I Am The Light Of The World.
Literally All creation is one and creation doesn’t make mistakes.
What you are going through may seem very real,
Sorrow, anger, highs and lows ups and downs, bills, work, death literally doesn’t exist. The opposite of God doesn’t exist. You exist, you can never ever not become non existent. Even by its definition nonexistent means to not exist.
You can never leave Spirit. You can have different types of experiences of leaving Spirit , like this human experience this physical reality experience but it is just that. You can never be separated from God/ Source/ Creator/ Universe/ Creation.
    So
What’s the meaning of life? Nothing.

Looks like there is always an " something" anonymous group to go to. Because it's natural for a being to search and seek carefully is the very reason why simply being is not enough, it's not your choice, it is your FORM Source within requirement for your survival and evolve. After all, how do you think the inception of your lineage has come thus far. Remembering that you your lineage inception was initially FORMED not BORN. Experience everything because the magic word is TEMPTATION. I mean if the subjects at the congregation feel good being there, well thats there drug at that particular time. But really you are being made fools of.
Look, just have a look at the water beside the teacher, the water makes more sense than any words from a so called teacher or guru's.
The water is life, the water heals, the water gives life, the water sits there in full stillness, the water is contained and yet not contained, the water is peace, the water is reality and the water couldn't care less what one perceives nor what their state of consciousness is.
Without that water, the teacher wouldnt' exist. Hello! Evolve thee. You would be better of being water mindfulness..

It's stupid to think that "just being" is a goal. You are denying human nature. People can do wonderfull things. People have passion, people have a drive. It's a waist of life as a human if you convince yourself that despite all your possibilities you should just "be".
A Corvette is made for driving, even when It's already a beautiful car just standing there. Don't waist your life by throwing away or ignoring all your possibilities and creativity because you think "just being" is the best state.

    • @filip5
      @filip5 2 месяца назад +2

In the bigger picture, Rupert talks about dedicating your life to expressing and sharing that being. The point here is that we have to do that from abundance, not from lack. Rupert here is addressing the sense of lack. Obviously passion must first subside to be purified in the crucible of "just being", before it can burst out spontaneously. And then still, old stuff may intervene to pollute that passion again, which necessitates reconnection with "pure being". So, Rupert here is talking about this important point of being full in oneself, so that one can act from that fullness and not from lack. We should be careful not to extrapolate this to a life of "just being" which would be just a rigid dogma and indeed a waste. After having seen enough clips, one realizes that this is the bigger picture in the teaching of Rupert ... ;-)
