Angry Donkey vs. BIG Horse

  • The farm's guard donkey is angry about this big horse invading his territory. Angry donkey verses big horse. This Spotted Draft horse is in training. The comments below reflect people who ride trained horses. This rider is very experienced and this horse is only weeks in training and was taken to a new farm with bulls and donkeys to gain exposure to new environments. The big spotted draft horse was pulling the rider towards the angry donkey and she was being very cautious in case the horse went after the donkey as it was not her property and was protecting the safety of other horseman's livestock. He did very well in the end as you can see. This Spotted Draft horse was sold for a decent profit not too long after the angry donkey exposure.

    Yes, the little donkey thinks he is a doggie guarding the other animals. That is cute and endearing that he takes his job seriously. God bless you little donkey.

      actually protecting the farm animals is serious work for donkeys. They will bite and stomp invading dogs, bobcats, and coyotes and my mammoth donkeys (horse size) would take on packs of coyotes to protect the chickens and cats. It is instinct for them, the bray is usually enough to warn off predators. The jack was doing his job. Horses will run away when faced with predators (or pretty much anything scary like a plastic bag blowing around on the ground 🤣 ) with the exception of a herd stallion, donkeys will guard and protect.

    • @franklardino3143
      @franklardino3143 3 года назад +13

      @@farmwife7944 Yes they will. Donkeys are tough, loud and fast plus stubborn in protecting their flock. They can stomp or kick attacking predator animals. Some farmers/herders use donkeys instead of herd protecting guard dogs like Great Pyrenees, Maremma, Kuvaz, aka all the big, usually white colored, herd protector guard dogs. Some people also will use Llamas and Alpacas as guards for the herds too. Oddly - Llamas and Alpacas are from the camel family. I am not sure if the donkeys, Llamas and Alpacas stay up all night like say a Great Pyrenees dog. You will see the Great Pyrenees out with the flock during the day trying to catch as quick nap because they have been up all night.

      Yup Donkeys, alpacas and llamas are GREAT guard animals - they're vicious against anything or anyone they perceive as danger to their herd and especially donkeys, will absolutely annihilate any wolves,coyotes,foxes they come across. Geese are also sometimes placed with chickens or ducks to protect them because they have 0 fear as well

      The horse knows he can be kicked by this donkey.
      The big horse began to chew which is a sign of submission. He is telling the donkey, you're the boss, I'm not going to hurt you. The donkey did the same thing back to the horse at the end, after the donkey sniffed him out real good and angled up to give him a rear hoof if need be.

    Bits aren't cute. Neither are tight reins. (*versus, vs.) A horse expert should have the natural horsemanship skills to be able to successfully handle a horse without relying on a cheat-and-pain device as the bit. Beautiful animals, but the bit wasn't cute; it and the tight reins belie the word " expert". The horse plainly shows the discomfort that the bit is causing, but few humans care to notice, not being honest enough to want to see. They want to believe they aren't hurting the horse, while they are.

    • @jensz9360
      @jensz9360 5 лет назад +7

      Thats correct, most people dont really care or think its not painful. I think the bit wont die off because every person who rides a horse sees the previous person who taught them using a bit so the practice continues. Let me put a damn bit in a persons mouth and see what tune they are singing. I also see she has a crop/whip and my guess is that she will use it. Sad way to handle such a great creature.
      I think there needs to be a drastic change in the way horses are treated in general. They are such magnificent creatures that its disgraceful to treat them in any way that causes pain. I do not use bits, it also pisses me off when I see those draft horses pulling carriages in the cities and knowing that once their pulling days are over they will likely go to auction. Such disrespect toward an animal that is graceful and a part of human kind since ancient history. Its a damn shame and reflects on how uncaring and selfish people really are.

    The tight reins, the unnecessary crop, not allowing the horse to have freedom of movement with his head, inflicting the pain of the bit, this demonstrates the same hard fist of Man on Nature that has been so destructive to the animals, to the Earth and to mankind. This legacy only knows Force and imposing pain. They don't know the ways of peace, respect, stewardship and partnership. They seem to think something vile would come of the horse being able to move his head in comfort, when that is not the case. In their fear and extensive Pride, they are ignorant of the ways of Peace. Their ways are the ways of destruction. What is the difference between someone willing to use a whip on an animal and someone who is willing to use a whip on another human? Not much. They only know Force and abuse of power, not Respect.

      I think anyone who has horses and arent selfish ignorant idiots will agree that pain devices like bits are not really necessary if you have true horsemanship. Do you beat your dog or inflict pain to get it to comply? Do you beat your kids to get them to comply? If so you have poor communication skills and lack compassion. You have no business having kids, dogs or any living creature and should get educated before getting one.
      This person in the video is clearly not educated and not confident about controlling the horse without inducing pain. What a shame that a magnicifcent animal like this has to be subjected to this.

      @@jensz9360 I thought we moved past the all bits are torture moron-theory thanks to science? I swear these people have never been near a horse in their life and just spend time on the computer harassing those that actually own them and spend time with them. I've seen these ignoramuses go after equine academics and I can't say I'm surprised at it anymore.

    I ❤ donkeys. Did you notice the instinct to give a wide birth around the back of a 1,200 pound horse. Smart donkey, but I have to say that Donkey was working it protecting his property and other animals. Loved the sheep moment. Hee-hawing," enough is enough back off from my friends and get off my property dudes ".

  • @kingdomfreedom8323
    @kingdomfreedom8323 2 года назад

    What a beautiful set up & beautiful animals, so healthy with such shiny coats. The donkey is an interesting fellow acting like the farm's custodian in charge come to greet newcomers. He's curious everything & working it appears protectively & though brave enough size wise he's sensibly aware he's a bit short for the job of rerouting the equine guest & rider another direction. He looks like he wants very much rather to join his peers in the pen & munch on sweet hay.

    My god I wish ppl would give their horses a loose reign. I don’t care how many ppl say otherwise; horses foaming at the mouth are in pain from the bit.

    • @dnr2089
      @dnr2089 3 года назад

      The foaming or drooling is nothing to do with pain. It’s quite normal. Even horses ridden bit less can foam at the mouth.
      Check the facts.
