Nice to see spektrum electronics on a boat because it's more common to use these on airplanes... I can't wait to recover my bancroft swordfish from bad electronics: transmitter versus receiver and ESC (real bad stock esc) , the motor is acceptable for now but not for long, the stock servo I had to replace for a 20kg... By the way GT85 it is also great to avoid corrosion
Great video, thanks for the info, hope to have my BJ 24 up and running for the week beginning September 4th: new 2968-3400kv, new 120 amp ESC, 2 new shorty packs 5000-120c, got this boat weighing 4.25 pounds all in only thing to be added is the 2-6s flow pack. Sounds like a plan. With the 3400kv 2968 the key is Keeping the boat light weight 55-56 mph was my best with the 2968 with a tfl 438.
Hey man some good protection for seals is silicon grease. We use it on waterproof watch seals works great and if you need to pull it apart, no worries. Would be great to see a servo reconditioning vid sometime. Ive never had to do it (yet)!?!😬 bought my can of corrosion X, had to take out another house mortgage to get it.. but by your endorsements its well worth it..used it heaps so far and its banging!!👍🏻

@@IRONCLADRC I think thats the white lithium grease for RC diffs. This is different stuff but very good!

After running this boat for awhile with all the different props, to you like that oxidean three blade the best for bashing about or is the three blade the best for top speed?
I've gotten my best speed with the 2 blade oxidean prop (45 high rake) Temps are a bit higher than the 3 blade (5016) the 3 blade is great for all around use cooler Temps

Oxidean marine 5016 3 blade or ABC 1716 (expensive prop) proboat 1.7x1.6 is a cheaper option and it comes balanced
are there any bearing inside the moto I should grease on the black jack 42 Sorry if it’s a stupid question but new to boats and when I turn my prop by hand seems pretty stiff even though I greased it up is that normal when the boats new does the motor need to break in
There's 2 bearings in a brushless motor. The front motor bearing on the 42 is enclosed so you don't need to oil that one but the back bearing is exposed so you can lightly. spray corrosion X on the bearing or dynimite high speed bearing oil, just a drop or two goes a long way .

Hey b. Noticed yesterday my flex shaft had a couple millimeters of movement in and out of the boat. (So the drive dog would bump up against the strut). I thought maybe the motor coupler was loose. Turns out the actually motor shaft moves in and out of the motor a few millimeters. Is this normal? Had never noticed that happening before so i think something is going on. Thank you
There's a stuffing tube retainer with 2 screws just behind the motor I've used heat shrink with a dab of silicone sandwiched in the retainer to keep the stuffingtube in place

If i were to upgrade the blackjack 42 motor, but wanted to use the stock ESC, what would be a good plug and play motor that would give it a little more performance? Doesn’t need to be a huge bump up in performance, just curious what a good replacement motor swap would be if i ever needed to replace.
