Yeah, I thought it was very good too. Not sure why everyone is giving it a hard time.
Admittedly I don't remember a thing about the first one which probably helps. Apparently the dialogue and case was better and was actually solvable by the viewer whereas this one revealed things as twists therefore making it impossible to figure out when viewing. I'll have to watch it again too see if that's true.
Anyway, I thought it was very entertaining. Yes, it was over the top and ridiculous but that made it fun. Worth a watch.

So, without spoiling, I will say it's an absolutely brilliant balance of genuinely funny moments, classic but reinvented whodunnit characteristics, and a stellar cast (NOT to forget the twists NONE of you will see coming). @@jdx478 May be you are correct. as most of the origins version made for other characters hasn't had worked. For example X-Men origin of Wolverine , Punisher and that was the exact reason when Craig announced that he would be retiring his version of Bond, Tom Holland suggested an origin story to Sony Pictures, which it turned down. I wouldn't be interested in that either.

Blanc references Halle Berry, Duke being killed by Miles because he drinks pineapple juice which he is allergic to, “pick your poison tell me what you do”. The other thing that made Knives Out and Glass Onion so great is Benoit Blanc. He is intelligent and everything, but the thing I really like about him is how compassionate he is. He's so pure, so precious, so patient. Genius detectives are commonly portrayed as sassy, sarcastic, snarky, aloof, cold, etc. But not Benoit. He's like the physical manifestation of pureness and goodness and that makes him stand out for me.
