What a wonderful time to reminisce about a truly remarkable film. I have seen it a number of times and always felt the same, emotional and touched by it. I believe waynes best acting. The best line was, we're going to finish the job. Thanks for this😀

Was in 9th grade in 1972 when I saw this movie. Wayne's death scene was for many of my generation the only time that a father figure said he was proud of his boys. Looking back I think that line was written and delivered for all our dads that felt those feelings but couldn't deliver them in person.

I totally agree that this was John Wayne’s best performance. I adore this movie and love hearing how kind and generous he was to his fellow actors. I love that this post includes the still of all the Native Americans because that was sadly cut out of the movie (due to time constraints from my understanding.)

Thanks. This is my favorite John Wayne movie. My parents took me to a theater 42 miles away to see it. It was hyped in the teen magazines and I wanted to see the teen actors.❤🤠

I saw this as a young girl who LOVED westerns and still do in my 60's, and The Cowboys won me over immediately. It is one of my absolute favorite westerns. Seeing this reunion was so satisfying! Thank you for uploading!

Imagine selling your unpublished novel, and it’s immediately made into a movie starring John Wayne! 😎

Glad Rydell and Roscoe realized lying liars lie in Hollywood about Mr John Wayne and always have because of political discrimination. Can you guys imagine some Republican directors and actors admitting on camera that they were wary about working with a DEMOCRAT liberal ? It would be called how dare you discrimination. Amazing tho it’s just fine when it’s reversed. I LOVE RYDELL AND ROSCOE and DERN!!! Honest and outstanding guys themselves!!!

Across the great divide of politics. The three you mentioned all stated that working with John Wayne meant not working with the image, but with a fine honest caring actor. One that worked to get the best out of everyone on set.
