In 2024 the long awaited expansion to Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree released. Met with critical acclaim, Shadow of the Erdtree racked up a ton of praise. The expansion would go on to become the most highly rated DLC of all time surpassing The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. Clocking in at a monstrous 30 hours, Shadow of the Erdtree is more Elden Ring and people seem very happy with that. But what if you don’t like Elden Ring? Is Shadow of the Ertree worth checking out? As someone who thinks Elden Ring is good, but not great, I had reservations going into the DLC. What I found was a dense world that was packed to the brim with secrets.
