Cobweb-Shooters (Evaporation Web-Fluid)

  • These webs aren't strong at all, but they sure do look cool! The web-shooters are compatible with soluble polymer solutions that have a room temperature evaporating solvent. I have played with them in the past, and if synthesized correctly they can create long floating strands of polymer chains.
    I used 3ml glass spray bottles for the web-shooter cartridges. They are small, but can contain enough fluid for about 20 sprays of webs.

      @l3renn9n Man imma be honest with you, it's pretty difficult to make such web fluid which will not cause irritation on the skin when it's shot out, You can use,
      A) Butanone and Dissolve polystyrene (But Butanone causes irritation
      B) Polyvinyl Acetate and Dissolve Polystyrene (But Acetate Is Acetone which causes less irritation but still causes it)
      C) Loctite Adhesive spray, but again it's an adhesive so it'll stick to people causing difficulties.
      You really don't got a choice mate, you can make a Web using nylon and connect them and put it in the spider animatronic. Other than that idk what to do.
      Good luck with your adventure

I was thinking of a formula that might be used and if the science is correct this formula can be as strong as kevlar which is still not as strong as spider silk but if you have spinnerets its can form a strong enough string that at least 3 to four millimeters can hold or support 900 pounds.

    The hardware is weighty and the ability the trigger to fold up just makes it cooler! Just wonder if theres a way to make synthetic web fluid that uses the concept of hot glue, but it’s got more tensile strength, wider spread and good adhesion! Im just 14 but im aiming to be an engineer :)

    What would happen if you tried to add nylon to this? I’d like to think it’d give it some extra strength but I’m definitely not a chemist.

    • @TheHumanSpider
      @TheHumanSpider  2 года назад +11

      It would explode and the FBI would be at my door!
      Lol in all seriousness nylon isn’t soluble in most of the solvents I use for my room temp evaporation fluids. I recommend checking out a channel called the.Amazing he has some educational videos on webfluid chemistry

  • @jetstreamwinds6072

    missing link people dont understand about the shooters is the nozzle. you cant have a web cable in the current state its in as shown you cant have a floaty web-string. but if something were to twind the web coming out of multiple nozzles and binding them into a good enough solid rope to attached , grip and swing from or lasso something. You might just have the basic design to shoot already, but still needs to be tweaked
